Aye and everytime we have a six point game, play an out of form opponent or play the bottom team we are pish. Hopefully next week is the exception to the rule.
- Today
-
I'll be optimistic and go for a 2-1 win Watt and Maswanhise with the goals.
-
You drunk? 🤣🤣🤣
-
I’m going 4-1 for the mighty well. Maswanhise double, Sparrow and Lennon.

Motherwell v St Johnstone 26/04/2025
FirParkCornerExile replied to SteelmaninOZ's topic in Club Chat
Pick any 11 from 34, all poor. -
Hopefully a bigger crowd against St Johnstone, does nothing for me as a season ticket holder but more fans in the stadium and less empty seats is the way forward Sad thing is anytime we have a bigger than average crowd more often than not we are p*sh
-
A fiver to turn friends into enemies? Bargain!! 😁
-
Apart from helping getting Aberdeen player sent off, and goal v st midden , that's all he's done.

I agree . I was a big Tony Watt fan first time he was with us When he came back I was happy to see him back hoping he would get back to his previous form I don't think he has done enough so far to merit being here next season . Still 5 games to go though
-
Christ knows but It wouldn't shock me tbh we were looking so desperate last summer for transfers. Defo paying some of his wages and that's more than enough for me.
-
Offer him one of they “ shite loan deals “ people talk about 🫣

I went for Sparrow, not because I think he is the best player but he has exceeded my expectations. No one else has. -
Did we pay a fee? I thought we just paid a small percentage of his wages and they were happy to get rid?
-
Does Daws get credit for KvV? He was already well known to Alexander and Spittal? He was well known in the SPL. No argument about Biereth and Stam though but hopefully the latter will remain injury-free and show us what he can do.
-
To give Daws his due during his time here he's been decent at finding Sts - Bair, Biereth, Van Veen and I think Stam if you keep him fit could join those names. However this season his recruitment in that area's been poor.
-
2 nil win for the good guys and send this Perth mob packing. Won't miss drive up there and nothing near stadium.
-
If we were pinging crosses in the box from both wings I’d play Moses and/or Armstrong but if we are hitting long balls and expecting hold up play till the support arrives then it looks like Watt is your man. Although I would say if we play high press game then we have more chance of getting balls into the box and I wouldn’t start Watt. FFS, we are playing St Johnstone so if ever a game screamed “play high press” this is it!!!
-
I don't think Watt is great but he's the only Striker we have that can keep hold off the ball and link the play. He needs to do more in front of goal I agree but his link up play is Important to the system working. Armstrong isn't awful but in general prefer Watt starts and he comes off bench. Plange was woeful v St Mirren and not done much else. Dickson who knows he's barley played but going back to City so not overly arsed. Ebieye's first touch and passing remind me of Mugabi so I don.t think he's the answer and Stams injured. So for me Watts the best of the remaining 5.
-
I would put Casey and Slattery up front they have more of a goal threat than Tony Watt I wouldn't even have him on the bench. We paid a rival club for his services never for get that.

Given Wimmer's preference for players to be comfortable in possession, Halliday is one of about 3 or 4 players we have that are capable of that. In the grand scheme of things, I thought he was one of our better players this season. It's Casey I wouldn't have on that list because, as I have mentioned elsewhere, I don't think the unquestionable energy he brings to the team makes up for the fact he is poor at defending (which is his main role). No obvious standouts, though. -
Watt's been playing to put himself in the shop window all season and has been ...... gash. No reason to suspect he'll be any better now, though I agree we are rapidly running out options up front.

I’m not Halliday’s biggest fan but I can understand his name being mentioned for POTY, particularly as the pickings are slim and he has been ever-present this season. -
Bring a friend for a fiver. Bumper home crowd. Important game. We all know the rest.
-
So you give one of your mates a fiver so they’ll come to the game with you? 😀

Im not Hallidays greatest fan either, more a sign of how poor the season has been that I think he' up there as one of the most consistent performers. He's also getting on in years and not someone likely to hold a first team pick next year.
