  2. Now now iv already been warned no need for violance 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
  3. Highlight of yesterday for me when I heard this at Half time , what a tune 👏 takes me back to 1993-1995 era. Tommy Coyne etc That display in the Cooper Stand looked amazing also ,well done 👍
  4. Today
  5. Nobody should be safe from the door that's in contract I would pay Balmer to leave,I am done with SOD as a part of a back three right back as a four no issues but as a three nope. We need pace, creativity and width in this team we are so predictable to play against the other team has to be really shite not to take advantage ie Hearts. Also Daws has to go aswell surely his contract must be up the recruitment has been so so poor last two transfer windows worst I have witnessed.
  6. Saw a bit of the Cardiff game yesterday and Turnbull had a run out in the second half. After his lay off with his most recent injury he looked like he was getting back to full fitness. Cardiff, however, are looking set for the drop.
  7. O'Donnell has just had a contract extension triggered. Id be very surprised if he's moved on. I personally wouldn't move Robinson on. There are few players I'd be happy to see sign on again. Don't think we need a complete clear out - and it won't happen anyway given the number of players who are still under contract.
  8. If there’s a way for players who are still under contract but not part of the manager’s plans to move on, then by all means, that should be explored. As it stands, I’m assuming those who aren’t especially in favour but still tied down by deals will likely remain until their contracts expire.

St Johnstone seem to be suffering from a number of defensive injuries (not as bad as us though) and Dundee fans moaning about their chances after today's crushing defeat in Leith. The exact post split fixture list will be influential in results.
  10. I'd add Robinson to that list, once he's fully recovered.

I agree. We will not be getting relegated this season. The psychology is interesting. There is a rather natural assumption that we are the poorest of the 6 simply because of our natural angst of a worst case scenario. Hearts are probably the best of the six and they were rotten yesterday. They could not raise themselves to a performance despite all that was at stake. After Hearts, we are in the best place. The table does not lie. Draws work nicely for us. The teams below need wins. Again our natural irrational brains would tell us that St Johnstone will never make up 5 points on Dundee yet we have the fear about Dundee making up 5 points on us. We are rotten. Of that there is no doubt. The teams around us are as bad if not worse. If they were not, they would be further up the league table. I can't help but think of the Butland goal/ no goal against Rangers. Had that been given as it should we would be as good as home and dry right now. Yes there will be a few anguish moments but we will be safe this year.
  12. Killie definitely strike me as being a very strong home team in the last couple of years , and very poor on the road. Plastic pitch to their advantage
  13. Great post and well argued. The only ones on your list I’d try to move out (always assuming other clubs would be interested in them) would be O’Donnell, Balmer and Nicholson. I forgot all about Stuparevic. He’s currently on loan at Morton and as I’ve not seen him playing yet I will reserve judgment.

Agreed. And as far as Killie are concerned, their form away from their plastic pitch is dreadful. They’ve only won 2 games away from home playing on grass and oddly enough against Hearts and Dundee.
  15. I wouldnt have been totally against mcginn being kept on but with odonnell, balmer and koutroumbis signed for next season,we can't be using anymore of our limited funds to keep anymore of our current defenders on.we need big changes in defence and there more we keep the less chance there is for any improvement next season.

Jeez, here we go again. Why so adversarial mate? I did not say Hearts were safe ON 40 points. I said I thought Hearts would be safe. It was implied they would gain more points which would make them so.
  17. Was speaking to a Killie fan yesterday who thinks they are rank rotten at the minute Id take either them or St Johnstone at home first game after the split, but of course winning against either of them is not guaranteed
  18. As I posted elsewhere, according to what I can tell, we'll see the following first-team players return for next season at this stage: Aston Oxborough Stephen O'Donnell Liam Gordon Kofi Balmer John Koutroumbis Ewan Wilson Tom Sparrow Callum Slattery Lennon Miller Zach Robinson Apostolos Stamatelopoulos Sam Nicholson Tawanda Maswanhise Filip Stuparevic And notable among the younger players on loan/in development squads I think we're set to lose Matty Connolly, Luca Ross & Mark Ferrie, while Dylan Wells has another year left on his deal. I think, going by that list, Wimmer has not a bad base to work with next season, although it's clear that in order to completely change how we do things he's going to need two or even three transfer windows. In my view, Oxborough, Gordon, Sparrow, Slattery, Stama and Maswanhise should be regarded as genuine first-team players, provided they stay fit and maintain their current level. That gives us six, five of whom are outfield. This effectively leaves Wimmer with room to bring in up to six new faces who could slot straight into the starting eleven. The others on that list, realistically, will make up the squad depth and hopefully feature regularly from the bench. Let’s be honest, unless Wimmer sees something in pre-season that he feels he can develop, many of them will be sticking around simply because they’re under contract. I wouldn’t be surprised if Balcombe returned as a backup goalkeeper, unless there’s a stronger alternative available. From what I can tell, beyond Oxborough there’s nobody else in that role worth noting. If Balcombe is open to taking on that job, he might be a straightforward short-term solution until something more solid comes along. I’d also be tempted to explore whether anything can be done with Andrews. I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’ve seen glimpses of ability there that might come to the fore with a different setup around him. If Miller is sold, we’ll need someone to step into that role, and Andrews has shown flashes that suggest he could do it. It all comes down to his own aspirations and whatever plans his parent club might have. Ultimately, it’s now up to Wimmer and the club to make the big decisions. Beyond the names already mentioned, I don’t see any strong case to extend deals for others currently in the squad. There’s clearly room to overhaul things, and how far that goes will depend on the manager and those handling recruitment.
  19. Very similar to a list I posted recently and an indictment on us as a club - 34 players in our first team squad and as you say this 20 need to be shown the door. To your list I’d add the following 5: Watt O’Donnell Balmer Zadravkovski Nicholson If they all go, it would leave us with only 9 players - 8 if and when Lennon Miller goes. One thing’s for certain, Herr Wimmer and his assistant are going to have a very busy close season.
  20. Think time is up for McGinn . 34 years and out much of this season, from memory he a thigh injury last season that kept him out during our poor run. I'd let him go , time to look ahead and get something different. The clubs recruitment has been awful. The last few seasons have come down to this time of the season saying : 1) I hope we don't get drawn in the play offs. 2) next season will be better when we get rid of xyz. We have typically off loaded players only to replace them with something worse. Our squad is majority of journeymen from England - time to change the approach.

Hearts have the best individual players but they do look a gutless bunch very much like us. it would take quite a feat for us not to win at least one game against teams equally as poor as us in the bottom six but if any team can go 5 games without a win it’s definitely us. st Johnstone, Ross county and Dundee worry me the most, they really put up a fight and we are so weak it’s embarrassing. id be hopeful of a win (at fir park ) against Killie and a point against gutless hearts. But who knows what’ll happen.
  22. Why do we need 4 points if you say Hearts are safe on 40? We got 39 points. We may not need 4 if others draw most of Their matches.

I have no idea why people are talking as if we're the worst team in the league. Where will the four points come from? Who would be all that surprised if we beat St Johnstone at home, drew with Killie at home (securing the four points needed) and then went on to draw away with a poor Hearts team who really have nothing left to play for, and grab another point or three against either County or Dundee away? We can get four points from that lot without much bother. I fully expect us to finish 8th or 9th.

How do folks think we will fare in our 5 games after the split? Current stats don’t make great reading. BOTTOM 6 Hearts 40 -1 Motherwell 39 -19 Kilmarnock 35 -20 Ross County 35 -23 Dundee 34 -21 St. Johnstone 29 -25 BOTTOM 6 WINS IN LAST 10 Hearts 5 wins (3H,2A) St J’stone 4 wins (3H,1A) Kilmarnock 3 wins (3H) Ross County 3 wins (2H,1A) Dundee 3 wins (2H,1A) Motherwell 2 wins (1H,1A) OUR RECORD V BOTTOM 5 HOME AWAY PWLD PWLD Hearts 2 1 0 1 1 0 1 0 K’arnock 1 0 0 1 2 0 1 1 Ross Cty 2 0 1 1 1 0 1 0 Dundee 2 1 1 0 1 0 1 0 St.J’stone 1 1 0 0 2 1 1 0 TOTALS 8 3 2 3 7 1 5 1 OUR GAMES POST-SPLIT? HOME St. Johnstone Kilmarnock AWAY Hearts Ross County Dundee I think Hearts are safe and that St Johnstone now are too far adrift and will finish in the automatic relegation place. However, the play-off place is still up for grabs and any of the remaining 4 teams could still end up there. Everything being equal, I think we will need at least another 4 points to avoid it. Now where these will come from I’ve no idea but it would be best if we managed to get them as quickly as possible.
  25. Yesterday was poor but can't fault players for effort but we are sadly lacking quality. And can we get halliday off the set pieces. Everything Yesterday just floated in with no impact at all
  26. Cmon the Hibees! Not often I say that but done us a turn
