  1. Liam Grimshaw and Andy Rose have signed new deals great news.

  2. Easily outed. Normally by the way they dress, but, that lot have their eyes too close together. Fair game and deserving of looking unrecognisable when they leave.

  3. Absolutely. I think Grimshaw's character has got to be commended here. He's gone from captaining Manchester United youth team and probably dreaming of stepping out at Old Trafford to no doubt seeing some of his team-mates going on to bigger and better things while he was getting relegated from the English third tier, then struggling to get a start at Motherwell. Other players might have huffed and puffed or come in with an ego, but he strikes me as a grafter who just absolutely loves playing football and is a good character to have off the pitch. Fair play.

  4. C'mon guys lets not bash the club when there is no clear evidence that this has actually happened. There was plenty opportunity to get tickets. Don't blame your own procrastination on the club.

  6. Don't know if it has been posted anywhere else but it deserves to be posted here too, the banter thiefs have done an updated version of "up the Well" which in itself is fantastic but they also got other fans and players involved. For anyone that' not seen it here is the link.

  7. The two new deals strike me as being sensible rather than spectacular. We know what we're getting with both ability wise, particularly Rose - Grimmy hints at having a bit more potential to develop and show greater consistency and they are both sufficiently youthful that their fitness levels aren't going to fall off a cliff during the summer. It would not be unreasonable to think then we're going to be no worse off next season than where we are now with them. And that's not to suggest where we are with them just now is a bad place. That for me gives us a solid platform to develop from next season. When you think of the injuries to the likes of McHugh and oddly enough both Grimshaw and Rose over the past couple of seasons I see it as no bad thing to have that depth in midfield. A depth that is hopefully going to be deeper still with the emergence of Turnbull. In a ideal world we let David Turnbull continue from where he's finished the league campaign this season and we perhaps don't need one or the other. The likliehood is though he's going to be eased in and out the side in much the same way Campbell was. Rose and Grimshaw are going to help with that easing in and out process. I think it's interesting that they are both one year deals. It doesn't suggest that there is a long term vision to build the midfield around them that's for sure. Rose I think will continue to be a useful player to have around the squad for as long as is required until the likes of Turnbull or whoever come on and push him further back in the queue, or of course he decides to relocate. Grimshaw has really come in the last couple of months and I think faces a challenge to see if he can replicate that form on a longer term basis to earn an extended deal this time next year. So aye, good solid and sensible planning to get them both tied up for another season.

  8. Honestly I’d love it if there are a few tims near us on Saturday. They’d not enjoy themselves or even last the full 90...

  9. I dunno... if we don't win this weekend, the record books would show we finished 7th and won nothing, albeit with a footnote about making it to both cup finals and keeping 20 clean sheets. Plenty to be pleased about, but not sure we'd be looking back on it in years to come as one of our most successful campaigns either.

  10. Tbh I'd take the ref having a shocker if we benefit from it. In fact I think I'd love it. The seethe it would cause.

  11. Don’t think there was much of that. He was pretty realistic about where Airdrie are at present. Just happy that he still had his team to follow.

  12. Whatever it takes to win this final I’m ok with. Don’t want a gallant played them off the park defeat. I want to see us win the cup. I hope Robinson has them well schooled to walk away from any flash points and not get conned into any stupid stuff. We need to get stuck in as normal and hope the ref actually has a decent performance. COYW!! I believe.

  13. Totally agree. Rose is very much a player`s player doing a lot of unseen work. The club deserve to be applauded.

  16. I wouldn't be surprised if crafty local Tims used Well fans names and addresses to get tickets. You can't really complain when you had a fortnight to get one and didn't bother ...

  17. Decided I can't miss this, coming back from LA for a couple of days if I can get a ticket sorted. Anyone got two to sell next to each other, or just a single spare, let me know ASAP!

  24. Nice work. Shame the lyrics in those first few lines still rank among some of William McGonagall's finest examples of rhyming and scanning

  26. Is this just a matter of everyone's circumstances having changed? Surely otherwise you'd have all joined the queue on the first day. I was like a kid at christmas.

  27. I think Bowman has accepted the role of a number 2 striker, his work rate is harder and he's started to win everything in the air. So damn those stats his all round contribution is worth praising and his ethic to get there.
