  1. Can I use an example and mention York city yet again, playing at National league level. Shaqai Forde has just come in on a season long loan from Watford, four goals in one and a half games, will probably end up playing in the Premiership. Olli Tanner a winger from Cardiff, came on for them against Leeds last week again on a season long loan, turned down a move to Spurs, young and highly rated. York’s average attendance is around 5k this season, why can’t Motherwell look to players like this ?

  2. Time for rallying call for tomorrow. A lot been said over past week but tomorrow we all need to be united and get right behind the lads. The players don't pick the team so if certain players start then there is no point berating every mistake they make, that ain't going to help matters. If our fans start getting unsettled early doors it plays right into the hands of Ross Co. We need to create a great atmosphere as this game is massive. And yes at same time the players need to show they are up for it and not pull out of tackles or look disinterested. If they show the passion and commitment then the fans will get right behind them. Altogether now.......COMMMMEEEE ONNNNN YEEEEEE WELLLLLLLLLLLL

  3. I can see where you are coming from, but the lower leagues in England is our market, and if there were better more experienced players available with lots of game time, playing every week etc, 1.we could not afford them and 2. it won't be in the January window in the middle of a season. This window is about taking a punt on players and hope they can improve the team, we signed the likes of Moult and Bowman with limited game time from league 2 teams and that worked out OK, not every punt pays off as we found out this season but it's about all we can do. The real work is done during the summer, as for the Japanese boy, all great players have to start somewhere was he not recommended to SH by Postecoglu at Celtic if the rumours are to be believed, so again another punt. Sometimes the expectations of the fans are very different from the reality the club operates in respect of finances, player availability and most importantly do they want to come to Fir Park. So given the circumstances I'm not sure what else SH and the board can do differently from what's happening now, he probably deserves a bit of slack and we can judge the signings in May to see what impact they've had, hopefully a big relegation saving one.

  5. might only be the rumour mill but apparently hes after another winger,Penney, and a centre back if that was to happen id be very surprised but it would be catastrophic for us to go down so we might invest to try and stay up also why were not after a central midfielder only god knows. Apparently weretrying to move Morris on aswell

  6. After signing a few players in the last few days and with others en route I highly doubt that will be the case unless he packed it in himself. If we do fall to defeat I can see you arriving at the main entrance on the back of a horse with a bunch of villagers carrying torches.

  8. So we now have 3 players signed with 1 more definitely in the pipeline and possibly more on the way. Lets park the negativity for 24 hours and get behind the team for 90 mins. We need to win. Any which way we can. Lets do this.

  10. BREAKING: MOTHERWELL AGREE DEAL TO SIGN MANDRON Motherwell have agreed a deal to sign Gillingham striker Mikael Mandron on a permanent basis, sources have told FOOTBALL INSIDER. The Scottish Premiership side have been in the market for a new centre-forward this month and have struck a deal for the 28-year-old.

  11. Crankshaw has a record of 25 goals in 53 starts by the looks of Soccerbase, which works out at a goal every two games almost. That's a record that's not to be sniffed at, especially in the January window where the only players available usually are those that clubs can't wait to get rid of, or players who don't have a club and couldn't find one in the summer. By the sounds of it we've managed to stumble upon this lad, who hit 11 goals last season for Stockport in the National League before the manager changed system this season which saw his opportunities limited. He's not a guarantee of goals, but he's a decent gamble worth a shot in a window where business is hard to do, especially for clubs like us. He's clearly looking to get himself in the window and look for a move if things aren't working at Stockport. If we benefit from a few goals and he helps keep us up, then all the better.

  12. The York chairman has stated they are cheap options with the two of them costing less than one player signed from a second division club at the start of the season, cheap is of course relative. York is 49% percent fan owned and the chairman does not bankroll them, they are not Wrexham. The National league is full of clubs big and small loaning young hungry championship and premiership players looking to move from playing in reserve and academy football to full time mens football. What they have is a manager who was coaching and recruiting under Pochettino at Spurs and at Leeds, he appears to have lots of contacts and a knowledge of young exiting players who have developed over the last 10 years or so, in that there is an advantage.

  13. No concerns with the player's we've been linked with , understand the level we're at. I'm with @El Grew re why we're signing wingers - that for me isn't the area to improve. Maybe 1 but not 2. The issue to solve is stopping the rot at the back. There may be more players to be signed, ideally defensive players come through. Central defensive and holding midfielder. I''d be hoppy to look at some from the Scottish championship and do swaps with likes of S'OD , Shields, Maguire etc - pretty sure people would be willing to trade with us.

  14. I say this if anything reading alot of these comments more than anything it proves getting a proper manager in charge of the team is now more than Important than ever. I shall always stand by a good manager gets the best of a mediocre squad.

  15. It would be nice to see one or two players coming on loan from the championship down south, yes it is possible if they are fringe players and it’s happening at other clubs. Maybe there is a reluctance from some to travel up to Scotland.

  17. I will of course give him a chance but signing a player on loan from a conference side doesn't inspire me....brings back memories of Tony Straker on loan from York. Hopefully we can sign a player called Stan and announce Stan and Ollie as our new acquisitions!! Mmmmm mmmm

  18. This is a huge game tomorrow. If we lose i'd expect to see Kettlewell in the dugout for Arbroath.
