  1. I can't imagine, because I listen to literally nothing that Celtic fans say.

  2. I take your point on the availability of players and my feelings on Halliday might be slightly different had he made ten appearances of twenty minutes or so this season. He's made six. All sub appearances. And two of those, he came on in the 89th minute. I'm not asking us to sign other teams' first team regulars. I'm asking us to sign someone who has played some football in the last six months. It's the same reason I was against signing Matt Penney. But talking to people about Halliday, I seem to be in the minority. He'll get my backing if he signs but frankly I'd rather he didn't...

  3. Nope, not having that as an excuse. There must be a suitable midfielder within our budget who has played more than 60 minutes this season....

  4. No one is saying they want him to go but reading stuff like 'as long as it's nowhere in Scotland' like he's terrifying to face or that his 14 games for us means that it'll hurt more to see him score against us. I'd like him to stay but won't be devastated if he leaves.. More concerned over the quality of players we're being linked with...

  5. I don't particularly think Biereth is as good as some make out but it does feel like the squad is getting thinner and thinner. If he leaves it will mean that we're two strikers down, a right wing back short and a midfielder down with Slattery's injury. If Andy Halliday is the type of signing we're looking at, Livingston will suddenly fancy their chances of staying up...

  6. If he's away no point getting our knickers in a twist about it. Thems the breaks. Kettlewell certainly getting the chance to rebuild , is he up to it? Who knows time will tell , certainly his signings in the summer don't fill me with much hope.

  7. Never bothered me who our signings used to play for, but I'm not overly keen on us bringing in someone who seems to have spent more time talking about who he used to play for than actually playing.

  8. Ok against my better judgement I'll bite so on that premis you would have opposed the club signing Davie Cooper, Bobby Russell, and Andy Goram, and all the other ex well players who have also played for Rangers over the years. You really do spout shite, but if constant trolling helps you through the day, fill yer boots. 🤦‍♂️

  9. I thought it was only part of the plan that also included things like developing players from the academy (and ones we signed) and selling them on. Regardless, the other options at the time were selling the club to a dodgy property developer or the infamous South American investors. I think Weir is spot on when it comes to UEFA development fees. If those were correctly adjusted to reflect current transfer market rates we'd be in a much stronger financial position now with the youngsters that moved on.

  10. Knowing us, it'll be a no hamstrings attached contract.

  11. Decent players, who've been regular starters and played a lot of minutes tend not to be available in January transfer windows, and if they were we probably could not afford them. So as the previous poster said that's our market, players not getting a lot of game time for whatever reason who might be just what we need.

  12. We're the 4th highest scorers in the league right now. We've conceded the most goals in the league. I'm no statto genius, but if I had money to spend on the team my first focus would be to address the goals conceded. Now that we have replaced Spencer, we also need to be looking to replace Slattery. Maybe then we can think about a striker, but I imagine Biereth, Obika and Bair are going to be ahead of him. As for KVV, I'm also one of the people who think we cashed in at a great time and don't really want to see him back. Loved him last season, but the timing of his move was perfect. The "next season" stats for all the strikers who have great seasons and move on make for poor reading. I won't repost them, but if you're interested, check out Coyne, Moult, Sutton etc. (and of course Kev himself) to see. I think Higdon is the only one that ever managed double figures the season after he moved on. Of course there's a chance he might recapture some of his form, but Kev being Kev, there's as good a chance he reverts to his more typical form of 7 or 8 goals a season. If we're looking for a loan, I'd rather we bring in another young Biereth type.

  13. Van Veen had a career best season last season, particularly since February when the team was set up to suit him. I'd have been astounded if he had anything like the same season this season and frankly I think getting a fee for him at his age was good business. We don't want this to become another Moult where every transfer window we have fans hankering for a player who is past his best... Even if we had the money for his wages, I wouldn't be spending it on him...

  14. A real shame for Slattery, I suspect he'll now receive a 1 year extension from us with agreeable terms for both parties. 76 appearances for us, he deserves an extension providing it's agreeable for all involved.

  15. I’d like to see us focus on a few good loan deals for the second half of the season. Hopefully we can dig up a few higher quality players to put themselves in the shop window and help us climb up the table a bit.
