  1. Some good posts on P & B about the state of the POD Stand. Its long overdue serious refurbishment or replacement. There's no doubt its been badly neglected in recent years. A lick of paint simply won't cut it. Broken seats, seats bolted to steps, inadequate catering and toliet facilites. I could go on. Apart from the seating area, the hospitality suite and other facilities are way past their sell by date. Its a bit of an embarassment from a bygone era. A refurbishment was mooted a year or two back, but that has been quietly forgotten. In short it needs replacing, but that won't come cheap. Hopefully the winds of change blowing through the club now will sweep away this old and tired relic.

  2. It's possible for opinion to evolve, you don't have to take a fundamentalist position, especially in an ever changing landscape like football. Bair was rubbish at St Johnstone. When we signed him, Kettlewell obviously saw something in him, but he had no track record as a player and I don't think the fan reaction was unjustified. He was better at Motherwell and I think almost all were happy enough to judge him on his form in claret and amber. I think it will be interesting to watch his career because he's a difficult player to really judge. I'd compare him to someone like Cedric Kipre, he has an athleticism and physique that puts him above our level, but he's very raw and you wonder if he has the technique or game intelligence to really go to the top of the game. Good luck to him and hopefully we get to invest some of the fee in the team.

  3. I think there was genuine concern when he was first signed especially the 2yr contract. I also don't think SK helped by playing him out wide. However bizarrely Biereth leaving was the turning point as The Bair played in the central role and we all know what happened then. If he goes it is an unbelievable bit of business and I wish Theo all the best

  4. Theo comes on in the 77th minute for what looked like might be a famous win, but now we go to pens. (Canda closing out a game using Motherwell tactics and conceding the equaliser in the 92nd minute).

  5. I’m in the POD and agree that it’s past it’s best but there’s no way we can afford to replace it without ending up with a bog standard shitty breeze block box. The Hunter stand is in as much need of work and a purpose built training is, to me, more of a priority. I hope that after the wild sheep debacle is over - and hopefully rejected - I’d like the club and WS to work together and put together a plan to show us how they intend to do this and who should have responsibility for raising the money for each project without being detrimental to the squad budget (the WS could take on the training facility while the club looks after the stadium).

  8. You'd hope so. Yet every transfer window we hear the absolute judgements in every player who is "shite", " too slow", "can't pass", " can"t tackle", "can't shoot", " wage thief" etc. Same as the absolute judgements that are tossed out during the League Cup groups when new players are playing together competively for the first time. Maybe, having seen so many examples of players developing at Fir Park, fans would sit back and enjoy watching players evolve. It's certainly a big part of the experience for me. However, if fans are happy to cast instant judgement on players saying how terrible they are, I don't think it's unfair for others to point out how wrong they were.

  9. Excellent business if we get over 1m for Theo Bair when you consider he had his doubters earlier in the season , myself included

  10. Well said. Keith MCrae was an accomplished out field player. Peter McCloy came on as substitute and Keith went outfield and scored our goal. Keith then played out field in our next and last league cup section game. That was the season we easily won the old second division. McCloy and McCrae shared the goalkeeper position but Keith also played a couple of games outfield

  11. To be fair, most of us have held our hands up, but SK still talks a lot of shite.

  12. Bringing a guy in on a free that absolutely no one else wanted on a 2 year deal and having everyone laughing at us for it just to get over a million quid for him, in my eyes up there with the very best business we've ever done.
