  1. It’s almost like clockwork. Keep on being you.

  2. It'll require two departures from the dug out because Kettlewell and Frail are hopeless in the transfer market. We'll be signing guys from pub leagues in New Zealand if they are left to their own devices.

  3. We know that he'll respond by starting with a similar line-up and system because he's a stubborn donkey who continually rides his luck.

  4. Moving Lennon Miller forward cos he's our best player is a wild tactic.

  5. Two spot on analyses. Poor recruitment and amateur tactics remain the issues, although, for what it’s worth, I don’t think we’ll see another 15 game winless run this season. We have improved, slightly.

  6. You're on the money. We have a number of strikers, with different styles, but none that really work together. So far, they have simply not delivered, for a variety of reasons. Some of that failing is down to a weakened and unbalanced midfield. In short, some of these problems are down to ineffective recruitment. Likewise, we have an unbalanced midfield. We have one lightweight and ineffective defensive midfielder in Davor. Again that's down to recruitment. It was very evident yesterday. Yesterday's game was similar to many of our wins this season. It was very tight and we lost out possession wise. The difference was that we didn't convert any of our few chances and our set pieces were unproductive. Some fine tuning of the midfield and strikeforce required in January. That will probably require a departure or two and some wheeling and dealing

  7. Our best performances have come from scoring from set pieces. The actual performances didn't look too different to yesterday. We scored 6 set piece goals and a penalty from a set piece across our 4 wins. As we saw yesterday that's not sustainable and we need the forwards to contribute much more and given what we have seen of Robinson he's not up to it. He's decent at dribbling but hopeless at every other aspect of the game. If he was Scottish or from our youth team he would be getting hounded.

  8. It is a big problem yes, but not the big problem. We also badly lack a decent defensive midfielder hence one reason for the poor possession stats. Robinson is lightweight and can't compete with hulking centre backs. He can't hold the ball up. He might be OK as a secondary striker but the problem with that is that we already have Ap Stam, Ebiye, Vale Watt and Stuparevic for that role. Despite our plethora of strikers, we lack a main striker, someone to take the weight off the others if you will.

  9. All our best performances this season have been Robinson up top with two attacking midfielders in a 3-4-2-1. You obviously have a bee in your bonnet about this guy. Robinson was better first half than Watt was second half. If it's a choice between Robinson's shot stats or winning I know which one is more important. The big problem we have isn't Robinson playing, it's having 5 across the midfield with no natural attacker out the lot of them.

  10. I just don't get what davor brings to the team , he's not even a good tackler , which I am thinking is his primary purpose

  11. We were getting by on scoring from set pieces and Oxborough making big saves. In the league we scored a decent goal at Pittodrie, Miller's against St Mirren and the one the Hearts left back gifted Sparrow and that's it from open play. To start today with the same set up that was brutal in the first half against Hibs defied belief.

  12. That was really frustrating, I thought it was a fairly even game, lovely through ball by Halliday early on presented a great chance for Robinson but the Dee defender done well with his last gasp challenge. We had a few other potential breaks in the first half but each was painfully short by Miller and we ended up conceding not long after one was intercepted. I said at half time I was surprised the ref played on as Halliday was on the ground holding his head long before the ball ended up in the net after a collision with a team mate. It felt like we were moving the ball about too slow constantly and when we tried to force the issue the long balls were generally easily dealt with. I thought the ref was letting them away with quite a bit esph the shirt pulling while at the same time being overly protective of the wee number 10. It felt like one of those days we could have played another 90 and not scored. Hopefully Stamas injury isn't too bad.

  13. Yep. Poor quality match. Dundee have won it and they pretty much did nothing in the second half. Was a bit puzzled by the half time substitutes. To be fair we were poor but taking off the two strikers who had been totally isolated during the match didn't seem like the correct cure for that particular illness. Once again two up front didn't really work and we looked like we did earlier in the season before we brought in Maswanhise to link up the play. So why then take off the two strikers, replace them with another two and continue with a broken system? Overall, a match with not much quality or chances. Tavares should have finished and skied it and I think it was Lennon Miller that got off a long range shot that the keeper did well to save. Other than that wasn't really anything to talk about other than a few 18 yard boxes stramashes. Dundee probably just edged it as they had some momentum in the 30 minutes up to half time and you could say a goal was coming but really today was a big let down, even putting aside the fact that we lost.

  14. Disappointing if Sparrow has an injury?....a lot of talk about midfield and need options in January....that is true but we have a full midfield on the injury table...Callaghan, Slattery, Paton, Nicholson.....not saying they are the answer but we have done remarkably well with the midfield 3 and Sparrow's sub appearances as far as league position goes. Hopefully second half of season see's is with a lot more options in midfield to change things up a bit, particularly with Nicholson and Paton being a bit more creative and attack minded letting Miller sit a bit deeper again....
