Possestion stats are irrelevant, it's goals that count you could have 5% possession but if you score more than the other team you get the points, so lighten up, enjoy another victory and gies peace.5 points

I actually thought Paton made a bit of a difference when he came on in terms of helping us retain possession a bit better...3 points

Btw putting the away fans in the top tier is tinpot stuff and pathetic from a fan owned club.2 points

When I got back into the house after the game, I thought I had dreamt that we'd won 2-1. With the response of some in this thread you'd think we hadn't just won again, weren't sitting in 5th with a game in hand over the team in 4th, and two games in hand over the team in 3rd, and a nice wee cushion of seven points and a game in hand over the team in 7th. All accomplished while we've been missing numerous new signings, our captain, and our co-captain. What's mental is, that we've done all of the above without playing all that well.2 points

Motherwell love to make a 2-0 lead hard work! It's never been any other way! 🤣 First half there were times when it looked like we could rack up our highest win of the season. St Johnstone were so slack in their passing and we looked dangerous going forward. Thought Kaleta and Maswanhise caused them a lot of problems and gave us the out ball we've lacked when they've not been selected. Second half we just turn off a bit and St Johnstone got better. Unfortunate penalty, one of those ones where it's pretty soft but it's always going to be given when the player brings his hand towards the ball, or at least that's how I saw it in real time. After that it was the standard nervy last 20 minutes that we've all seen a thousand times before. Finally VAR did us a favour. Good 3 points, could have been better in the second half. And Davor missing that sitter at the end, yikes. Good to see Paton back. For me he's a McGinn-esque player. Decent, gives you 100% every week.2 points

Halliday is completely done. He was blowing out his arse after 20 mins. Get him a half season ticket for Ibrox, a Celtic one for Fat Tony and a wee Saturday job somewhere for Davor and we'll be looking a lot better going forward.2 points

Id like to see us try and get the ball to Stam rather than him chasing all the time. Give him a few chances to see what he can do.2 points

Aren't chaps always assless? Otherwise they'd just be trousers.2 points

Well said sir, the negativity even after a victory really grinds at me For Davor miss I believe he was offside anyway. Big concern for me was amount of space we left on our left hand side, we have done this for years bizarrely going back to days Hammell played there1 point

Yes, he is, but we're not getting the best out of him. He's not suited to to the role he's being asked to play.1 point

Wasn't pretty but looking at some posts can I just remind everyone that we actually won and are sitting 5th with a game in hand!! Usual suspects get criticised but I didn't think young lennon had best game today. For me kaleta was excellent and Sparrow also impressive. Big Ox is such an upgrade on Kelly but Liam still brought us great service. Watt once fitter will be just fine but jeez can we keep Moses in opposition half please, looked clueless at times. Referee honking but at end of day it's 3 points so can we all have a big smile? COYW1 point

Went for Kaleta. Looks to be getting much stronger with games. Did great for his assist, always an option going forward and defended well. Seddon and Casey also done well at the back while Maswanhise and Sparrow impressed before tiring.1 point

Appreciate the frustration with the lack of entertainment. There's not a huge amount of creativity , similar to last season we need to rely on young wingbacks to create. Given our current squad I'd be tempted to play Watt behind the front 2 and try to link more via midfield. That said credit to the team for conceding less goals, averaging 1.2 goals lost per game v's last seasons 1.7. That difference has us very nicely in the top 6.1 point

How would u know he’s a decent player has showed nothing yet1 point

Conceding 2/3 possession at home to st Johnstone is utterly horrific. Midfield is not good frankly. that being said a good, if not a deserved, 3 points. some positives - TJ and kaleta continue to impress and seddon was good today1 point

For all the posession St Johnstone had I didn't think they even remotely looked like scoring and if they hadn't got the penalty that game would probably have finished 2 0 without the nervy ending. In saying that you can't give up that much territory and possession especially at home. Good to see Paton back at least it gives us another option. Another poor referee display with some utterly baffling decisions. Still it's 3 points.1 point

Dunfermline made a halftime sub of Joe Chalmers coming on for Craig Clay. I used to have nightmares about that.1 point

Bump. Another shocker from the officials. Why is it that we seem to be the only team punished for apparent foul throws? In swinging corner deemed to have gone out of play?? Also thought they had toned down hand ball penalties. These unknown numpties they keep promoting beyond their abilities is farcical.1 point

I think he was apologising to the st Johnstone player just as he was striking the ball.1 point

He definitely looked more confident today. He's been a regular starter recently which obviously makes a huge difference to form.1 point

A helpful hint for SK re Robinson, drop him immediately he has been brutal and offers nothing to the team, with no sign of any improvement either.1 point

Ox has been very good - much better than I had anticipated. I do think he also has the benefit of a better defence in front of him. we're far more solid as a defensive unit.1 point

Helpful hint for Zach Robinson. Dont back into Mikulic and try and wrestle him. You will lose and the referee wont give you any fouls. You will be quicker than him however, so I suggest knocking it in behind and running after it!1 point

Ox has had a great start to being No1, have to ask the question like so many other fans WTF did Kettle stick with Kelly last season when Ox was in the wings, captain or no captain you compare the quality and ability and there is no comparison! A great start Ox, Well done and keep it up! An amazing season awaits, keeper of the year!1 point

Stama not being picked this time round will be good for him and us in the short term. Last break he travelled to the other side of the world and played zero minutes. His move hasnt been straightforward having to relocate his wife and newborn child, getting injured and the aforementioned travel. He really hasnt had any opportunity to settle down and show us what he can do. After this break he will get a run of games and we will hopefully start getting more players back that will allow SK to have us playing in a way that suits him. Long term we need him playing well, scoring goals and being selected for Australia as, I presume, the plan is to sell him on down south for a significant fee.1 point
-
Cheers pal, that has been my case for him. Takes time to settle and I genuinely think there is a player there but .....apologies if proved wrong but Robinson is a different story, just doesn't look like improving .....but again Kettlewell I feel is not helping our strikers with style we play1 point

Spot on the second half tactics were pure rubbish inviting Saints on to us made it easy for them . Take the win move on but the manager needs to up his game0 points

Only saw the second half and that was brutal. Play in possession is shocking. Midfield posted missing. Only positive from what I saw was 3 points.0 points

It wasn't for a foul throw. Balmer stole 10 yards when the ref spoke to Miller and the defender. The ref then told Balmer to get back and Balmer acknowledged him then just threw it in without moving back. You can tell Balmer is Irish.0 points
