  1. That bloody idiot Kettlewell can't even organise the weather for a big game. It's not as if he didn't know this game was coming up. It's stupid mistakes like this that prove he's not going to have long left in this job. Ooot his depth !

  2. I am a fan of him and can't argue about league position and getting to a semi final. I feel he overthinks at times and I don't like the way he uses our strikers, I don't think he is getting the best out of them. Kaleta....Gordon....maswanhise been success so far with Sparrow...Stama and Balmer improving I feel Hope we can continue to progress COYW

  3. The international break is upon us, and we're currently three places and six points better off than we were at this stage last season, as I recall, and we've made it to a cup semi-final. Admittedly, we're not top of the possession table, but you can't have everything. The best part? We haven't even seen all of our new signings in action, and those who were long-term injured haven't yet returned to full fitness. I'm cautiously optimistic for the rest of the season and rather glad we stuck by the manager last year when things looked a bit shaky at times.

  4. It's not necessarily the fact that Clarke hasn't picked Miller that aggrieves me and others, it's that his reasoning for not doing so is utter bollox and can be picked apart through his other decisions and the things he says in the press. He's a twat.

  5. Aye, I think all of us are guilty of expecting new signings to come in and immediately set about playing every week and dominating matches. We've had it pointed out to us on several occasions just how shite the Australian league and the defending there is, so perhaps giving Stama some time to properly bed in and get used to the standard here before writing him off isn't a bad shout. Or, y'know, we could just decide he's shite and should head back home. Cautiously optimistic about the rest of the season but I do feel our next run of games are crucial, prior to the absolute car crash of fixtures over the festive period.

  6. For me, Gary McAllister's still the standard for success in recent times.. After we set him on the road with his first winner's medal (Scottish First Division) he won the English First Division - before the EPL was invented - the FA Cup, the League Cup and, of course, was instrumental in helping Liverpool win the UEFA Cup.

  7. Recent times? The guys the same age as me, left Motherwell in 1985, 39 years ago - reminds me of the time I was talking to my kids about the miners strike and said you must have covered this in modern studies and they said don’t be daft it’s more than 30 years ago - that’s done in history! Apart from that, he was definitely the best midfielder we’ve produced in my time watching Motherwell and that’s taking nothing away from DT and LM.

  8. SOD on Open Goal this week. Some good stuff in there amongst the usual nonsense.

  9. Will we win 2-1 and have all the usual suspects on complaining again ? Or will we lose 2-1 and have all the usual suspects on complaining again ?

  10. 100% this. If Miller were to move down south in January he'd be right into that senior squad. Guaranteed. There's nothing Clarke loves more than that.

  11. All about opinions but in games I've saw him in for scotland u21s he has been best player on park every time. Cameos for Liverpool were gd against top class internationals. Now for boro he is involved in goals every week and was not bad in full team last 2 games. There's also a reason Liverpool signed him and it's obviously because he's quite gd. It's easy to slag clarke and I can as well for some things but I think he's handling miller well at this stage

  12. I'm not clarkes biggest fan either but he is obviously trying to protect miller. Plus he's called up doak( scotlands most talented u21) conway doig johnstone barron in last few games who are all performing at a higher level than miller so I think you are being harsh with the u21 shout Does anyone think at this minute in time miller is performing better than any of the midfielders picked. I for one certainly don't.

  13. Turnbull for me but as others have said, Miller is younger. Turnbulls impact in games was brilliant to watch.

  14. Nothing. I think you've misread. My point is that he's basically asking for better exposure/development of Scottish U21 players, which flies in the face of his recent bollox reasoning for not calling up Scotland's most talented U21 player, Lennon Miller. The guy is an arrogant wanker.

  15. The bare facts were that Rice was clearly ahead of Lennon in the pecking order. Losing him to Rangers I know was a real gut wrench to the academy coaches. a few years later and we have a lad who has played almost 50 first team games for us, captained the club and has teams all over Europe looking at him. While Rice has played a handful of irrelevant minutes (a 5mins here and there in dead rubber games) and is rotting in a B select side somewhere. this is definitely the example we need to be sending out to youngsters and especially their parents, regardless of whether they have blue or green tinted specs, in this bigot ridden country.

  16. There was an article I read about Lennon Miller where our former player Bailey Rice was mentioned. The article suggested that as youngsters Lennon and Bailey were seen to be on a par. Bailey chose to go to Rangers where he seems to have disappeared. A lesson there for any aspiring youngster.

  18. The official site calls Ferrie's goal a "dink" - that doesn't really do it justice. I also learned today that Calum "I don't like taking the bus" Elliot is their manager.

  19. I’m going to this game for an overnight, so I fully expect a massive victory and for me to invade the park to congratulate Kettlewell.

  20. And you two, also like clockwork, will continue to post in a similarly predictable way to those whose opinions you seek to deride. Keep it up, we all get a kick out of it.

  21. Dunfermline made a halftime sub of Joe Chalmers coming on for Craig Clay. I used to have nightmares about that.
