At the end of the day it's easier to coach 'negative' tactics than it is attacking football because attacking football depends on talented footballers. If you can't afford to pay talent and you don't produce any talent then inevitably Scottish football isn't going to be a great watch. But fans are also to blame. They don't want to watch technical football ("Get it up the park!") and have absolutely no patience in terms of team building or coaching. They want instant results and if you win 1 draw 1 lose 3 you can guarentee a sizeable section of the support will want you fired. There is no medium or long term thinking at pretty much every level of the game.3 points

Subs should have been at 60 mins. Starting Watt was right call but Maswanhise and sparrow should have been on at 60 mins. one of the worst refereeing displays I’ve seen for a long long time but we should have taken care of business long before we got into that position.3 points

When VAR first came in I used to get annoyed if a decision went against us and loved to see the disappointment on the faces of the oposition when it went against them. A bit of excitement and drama like the novelty of a new toy Months later I'm just annoyed permanently with it and would gladly toss it in the bin and I'm sure 99% of fans feel the same. The novelty has well and truly worn off.2 points

At least the ref's horror show had deflected away from our terrible performance. Lennon has been poor for weeks now and I assume its because he has been given the captains armband. If you really think about it, he is a kid and should not have that pressure thrust on him. He is a top talent and the quicker he gets out of this league the better!!!!!2 points

I won't comment on the refereeing as thats been well covered elsewhere. A share of the points was about right. We took an early lead and as the game wore on SK decided to sit in and hold our lead. Big mistake as we simply don't have the midfielders or defenders to play like that. Everyone could see the Killie goal coming long before it did. I couldn't fault our starting line up but as half time approached it became obvious that Tony Watt and Stama weren't working up front. Playing a long ball game against a big physical team was never going to end well. Things deteriorated even further when Paton left the fray (understandably given his lack of fitness). It was a big mistake to bring on the anonymous Davor and not bring on Manwhanise earlier. That simply signalled our intention to pack our penalty box in a throw back to Graham Alexander's reign. I thought both wing/full backs, Kaleta and Wilson, were hung out to dry and suffered a roasting. One effort on target and 2 corners all night tell their own story. 2 points needlessly dropped. If we absolutely must play this type of game then lets get in the appropriate bodies to do it effectively. As they say in boxing "A good big 'un will always beat a good little 'un". Stephen Robinson will happily provide SK with advice.2 points

Wilson for Seddon was the substitution that was made, my point was the knock on effect of only having 4 more subs. I thought Kaleta was well off the level of the previous week and being replaced with O'Donnell would have had a beneficial effect for the team balance (IMO). My point on hindsight was that the timing and personnel involved in the substitutions ended up with us getting a point despite a numerical dis-advantage, a plus in my book, different choices my have ended in a different result. I wasn't being (over) critical of Kettlewell, I actually quite like him. I was just voicing an opinion that he possibly could have done better with his substitutions. The bottom line is, I'm glad I'm not the manager 'cos results don't rest on my opinions.1 point

It was clear long before Killie scored that they had the upper hand that we were defending deeper and deeper and withdrawing into our box. Our midfield had disappeared. We had no width and no leadership on the pitch. No problem with Paton and Halliday being taken off for the reasons that you say, but it was too late and the wrong changes made. They should have been retired at about the 55/60 minute mark and Sparrow and Manwhanise introduced to the fray. That was a huge error of judgement. When Davor appeared Killie would have been given a huge psychological boost. That signalled to them that we were quite happy to sit back and soak up any pressure.1 point

If it were the club who was revealing the name then sure. But on a fan forum? It's basically just speculation, no matter what anyone claims about being "in the know".1 point

How so? You think posting the guys name on a fans forum could put the deal in jeopardy?1 point

A new manager always gets a bit of grace. How long has Simo been there now? A couple of months? At the moment he's lost twice as many games as he's won, and his team sit in 11th. I certainly wouldn't be trading places with them. Are we really reverting to the tired old "we're fourth, so every other team must be rubbish" narrative? It seems some people roll that out every time we break into the top six. The fact is, we’re exactly where we’ve earned the right to be. Right now, we’re the fourth-best team in the league, and whether other sides are brilliant, dreadful, or somewhere in between is irrelevant. Heading into Christmas sitting fourth in the table, with a cup semi-final secured, is a brilliant position to be in. This is such an important point. A lot of our supporters focus solely on what we’re doing, assuming that if the manager selects the “right” team and employs the “right” tactics, everything will fall into place. But football doesn’t work like that—our opponents play a massive role too. Many of the common criticisms and complaints could probably be addressed and explained by the manager, highlighting factors most of us wouldn’t even consider. For example, when we argue that TJ should start ahead of Watt, are we factoring in how McInnes might set his team up to counter that? Or how that decision could create vulnerabilities elsewhere for Kilmarnock to exploit? No, we see TJ come on for the last 15 minutes, play well, and think, “Well, he should’ve started—surely he’d have delivered that same performance over the entire game. Poor choice by the manager.” It’s rarely that simple.1 point

Just watched the TV highlights of the game. Our defending at Killie's goal was criminal. Attacking players only 6 yards from goal in plenty of space! The red card? No way. Casey grabs Armstong's shirt at chest level. Not the first time Armstrong's been involved in trouble. Why was he booked? Having reviewed the footage, he seems to catch Casey's foot badly enough for him to react angrily. Was that why he was booked? It seems to me he could well have have received 2 yellow cards and was fortunate not to.1 point

he gave us a foul when he should have given Kilmarnock a penalty.1 point

When Collum ran out at Fir Park the reaction of most was Oh no it will all be about him and it usually was. Now he is the man in charge. What do you expect?1 point

We require a strong and mobile centre forward and a commanding central midfielder in the January window. And we could also do with shedding some of the deadweight, once/if some of our more capable injured players return during that window.1 point

Not too bothered about the quality of the performance as games against McInnes teams usually end up in a shitfest. He is a very tactically astute manager and once again he set his team up to counter our line up and it worked. The fact that we managed to sneak a goal and looked reasonably solid defending it until half time was pleasing. But we were always going to run out of legs and the subs needed to be the correct ones. Ultimately SK got it wrong again by waiting too long and trying to hold what we had. The first 2 subs should have been Sparrow and Maswanhise for Halliday and Paton. Had we done that and pushed Killie back, their goal maybe doesnt happen. The fact that we then get the red card and look better with 10 men is proof in point. The last 10/15 minutes were actually quite exciting. As for the referee? Probably one of the worst in the league. His handling of the game was terrible. Letting Killie away with some pretty roughouse tactics and then blowing for silly inocuous fouls elsewhere. To give a red card to Casey when he lets his frustration boil over just encapsulated how poorly he was reading the game. To get the chance to overturn such a poor decision and then stick with it in an effort to show you are a strong referee shows a lot about his character. Overall a point was about right, and feels ok given the circumstances surrounding the red card, but it shoulda been 3. The manager needs to be braver with his selections and substitutions in key moments.1 point

Just to add to the refereeing discussion. Killie should have picked up 3 yellow cards in the first 15 minutes. They set out their stall early on and tested a weak referee. The first was a deliberate very late tackle on Lennon Miller. No card. Harry Paton committed an identical offence late on and was rightly booked for it. Another was a deliberate elbow to Lennon Miller's head; again no action taken. Total inconsistency. As an aside, teams are now starting to target Lennon Miller. He'll need to learn to deal with this kind of treatment as he'll face much worse if he moves south to a big team. I think the SFA will indeed take the referee's performance in to account when making allocations for future games. Just to make a point they will give us him again very soon. Criticism of referees won't be tolerated.1 point

Rest easy as he was injured against Hearts. We desperately need a big target man up front and a big nasty defensive midfielder. A few candidates to be shipped out to make way for them.1 point

Yes I'm sure the deal will be off because of a singular post on a fans forum. Eventual signings names end up being mentioned online all the time without the deal falling to bits 🥱1 point

I'm guessing the ref realised he had made an utter cock up of the red card after looking at the monitor and didn't have the balls to admit his mistake.so took the easy way out by farting about for 60 seconds to make it look as if he was correct. He should be refereeing in the Amateurs.1 point

Maybe time for the Ox to be rested and let's see what the other laddie does. Ox form has dipped, low confidence on crosses, means he is hiding on his line. He should have saved that shot with his two hands on the ball. Midfield just did not work today and Watt and Ap got no service. Tho Watt seemed off the pace. The referee stopping it at every opportunity, ment a disjointed battle. Time referees were fined or demoted like every individual in professional football.1 point

Don't be so idiotic. Could scupper the deal, would you like that? We are getting an SPL defensive mid. I'm sure certain fans would like to know that. I won't say anything in future and the nobodies, can know nothing.1 point
