I've heard he won't fly Emirates airline as the seats are set out in a 3-4-3 formation :)3 points

We will at least have seen evidence of a Manager that is willing to change things up after some woeful performances. Not one or two woeful performances but too many over the season, including that pathetic cup SF. For some that willingness to change will be a step forward. Might even be enough for those that want to support Kettlewell but currently have serious doubts. Like me. Despite what is promoted on here by some, although a few have been irrationally anti Kettlewell from day one, not everybody wants SK out as of now. But what the false narrative does is deflect from what has been evident for some time and came to a head in Perth. Throw in the injury situation, league position, the youth of some players, officiating, even Graeme Alexander to the discussion and the current issues that are concerning folk are pushed aside. Deliberately or otherwise. History is history and cannot be changed. Where we are headed is the point. On Saturday, yet again, we saw a passive beginning handing the initiative to our opponents. Yet again we saw a formation and approach that exposed the weaknesses of certain players as they are asked to play roles for which they are not suited. Yet again we saw substitutions that had no effect and we saw little leadership on and off the pitch. Even more worrying, for the first time this season we saw numerous players arguing with each other, questioning Managerial decisions, showing less than 100% commitment, hiding when teammates needed a get out ball, and a bunch of players being told to F@@@ Off when they approached fans at the end of the game. Fans who have supported them through good and bad, Bois included. And not in small numbers. So in response to your question, I do not know what happens if we change and lose. That could well happen. I do know for sure that if we witness no change and lose, then things will become even more toxic. What fans are desperate to see is a willingness by SK to adapt our approach, send out a team in a formation that at the very least gives us the hope of a win. The players for their part need to show the unity, energy and belief that has been evident in some recent home matches. I was shocked....but not really that surprised.....by the reaction at full time in Perth. SK, his coaching staff and the players also looked stunned. Hopefully that will have opened a few eyes within the Club and we reset our season starting Saturday. Surely we cannot continue as we are? It's not too late and we can still have a good season. But fans need to regain hope and belief. SK has a huge part to play in that. It won't be easy3 points

In such a forum, people should continue to be allowed express their opinions good, bad or indifferent about the manager without being constantly told off like school children. Very tiresome to read. Anyways, I probably agree with SKs comments to an extent. That being said, he’s painted a bigger target on his own back 👍🏼2 points

I said before that Kettlewell had reached his tipping point with us, and he’s only just gone and lit the torch paper on his departing fireworks. Winning on Saturday would obviously be great, particularly given recent events, but history tells me it will only delay the inevitable.2 points

Norway (hopefully) leading the way with VAR Norway is on the verge of abolishing VAR from its domestic league after clubs in the country’s top two divisions recommended formally that it should be discontinued. The decision by clubs in Norsk Topfotball, which represents the 32 sides in Norway’s Eliteserien and first division, marks the most significant step yet in a fierce debate over VAR’s future in the country. Now Norway is one step from joining Sweden, which has resisted introducing the deeply controversial technology so far, in staging games without its intervention. Norsk Topfotball’s clubs passed a motion that “requests that the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) board recommend, and that the federal assembly adopts, the discontinuation of video-assisted refereeing as soon as possible”. Their verdict will now be handed to the NFF ahead of a meeting in the first week of March at which every club in Norway, including those at much lower levels, will take a final vote on the future of VAR. Cato Haug, the chairman of Norsk Topfotball, said clubs had agreed that VAR, of which the implementation has caused a strong backlash among fans, is unworkable in its current form. “We see the technology has potential,” he said. “But through today’s discussion and subsequent voting, we see the majority of our clubs believe the current version of VAR does not work well enough.”2 points

The way he refers to his style of football that led to that run of 15 games without a win as some sort of achievement to be referenced in the context of this season is ridiculous. He appears to be as stubborn as they come and more worryingly he has started to become a bit patronising towards the fans and their justified views. Unfortunately for me, that sneering tone throughout the article undoes any of the valid points he tries to make. The clock is ticking faster now.2 points

To put things in perspective, I was talking to Joewarkthelegend earlier in the week. We've both been going to Fir Park for decades and we agreed that last Saturday's cup performance was the worst we'd witnessed for many many years. That's how poor it was. We're hoping for changes this Saturday, but above all, a change in attitude both on and off the pitch.2 points

Thank you. I will. My mum is coming with me too and I'm also taking her to hospitality for the Ross County game - she deserves it because she did a lot for me when I broke my leg and couldn't do anything for myself. Just wanted to do something nice for her in return1 point

Absolutely my man. In fact you're in a very similar position to myself. Been pretty positive towards Kettlewell but are asking questions now. No more than that.1 point

No he doesn't in my view. He's honest and he's always appreciated the support. You can see it in previous videos where he goes over and thanks the support at the end telling them they are brilliant1 point

Butland flapped the ball into his own net again under pressure from Man Utd tonight. The goal rightly stood, unlike the time he did it against us, as the officials in this game aren’t useless SFA twats.1 point

Just my view but not impressed at all. He mentions the 15 game run last year, yup ....lucky he was kept in a job as a lot of clubs would have sacked manager by then. Has had 2 windows since. Yes the injuries of course are an impact but his tactics and lack of plan b are obvious......also Stuart...remember you are the manager that played 1 striker away to Ross County!!! Yes there are those that have never liked him but not me. I have given him plenty of praise but I don't kind saying it, I am losing faith in him and his attitude now isn't helping. I haven't called him insulting names as the guy is a human being but he isn't getting the results and Saturday really is huge test if players are still on his side. COYW1 point

Since we've spoken about lower league players and keepers. I'd be in the hunt for Dabrowski in the summer. I think he can play at a higher level. Out of contract in June.1 point

West Ham sacked their manager early January so it is not really a surprise to have loan players return. New manager would want all players available.1 point

He answered the question and was pretty much right. It's his job on the line. The tone and the like will bother those that already have something in for him. But by the same token, we slate managers for giving vague answers and saying the same old stuff, and applaud honesty until we disagree with it. If managers start doing what the fans tell them to we're fucked. I don't like the way we play either, but think way too much is being made of this. I don't have high hopes for Saturday, but rarely do, but can already see all the "but entertainment" posts if we manage to grind out 3 points. The period from now until the day SK leaves is going to be unbearable with everything being overanalyzed.1 point

Note to SK. Beware the Happy Clapper who stops clapping. It means everyone else has too!1 point

How to get the fans on your side Stuart........not. sounds like he has developed a touch of GrahamAlexanderitis Yes we are not football managers like you but we also won't get paid as good a salary as you so stop yer whining and get it sorted starting with 3pts tomorrow Ps. Did I ever tell you I was addicted to the Hokey Cokey but I've managed to turn it around 🤪🤪1 point

As someone who has defended SK through thick and thin last season and this, I find the tone of that interview pretty disrespectful (despite the lengths he has gone to to assure me it is not!) Just because I havent played football at any decent level doesnt mean I cant see whats in front of my own eyes or offer an opinion on where we are going wrong. If that was the case Jose Mourihno shouldnt have been any good as a football manager. Most of our fans are NOT knee jerk. The vocal minority maybe. But I think most fans (in the stands at least) have been pretty patient with the manager and the team EXACTLY because of the difficult circumstances we have encountered this season. That doesnt cover over the further mistakes we believe are being made in tactics, team selection, in game management etc. He could and should be making better use of the players available by using tactics and formations that get the best out of everyone. Im not buying for a minute that we have used a vast array of tactical options this season. It has been mostly sit tight, allow the opposition possession, absorb pressure until they make a mistake and try and counter. He is increasingly coming across as a manager under pressure and has utterly disrespected the view of the nearly 2k Motherwell fans who were in Perth last weekend. If he really does double down this weekend and go with more of the same, he better hope the players are able to dig out a win for him. Adapt or die. Its the first law of survival.1 point

We don't have much of a choice, we lost our main keeper for months as well as the backup. All it takes is one injury or suspension there after the window closes and we're hosed.1 point

They've been shouting for managers head since I can remember starting with wullie McLean ( Tommy's brother) and it's been that way ever since , just now we've got social media.1 point

I keep thinking back how good it would have been to have Spencer and Gent for the full season we all know Gent turned into a player and i think Spencer would have been the same. Both the kinda of players you need on the flanks what we are missing just now.1 point

For lack of a better analogy, I think Caldwell was suggesting that the bottom tier is a bit like the Forth Road Bridge. That is, it's not completely knackered or closed permanently, so to increase its longevity we've had to make fans predominantly use the top tier (Queensferry Crossing) unless increased capacity is expected, then both are relied upon. As to your second question, I've no idea, and for your third question, my only suggestion would be that the club could be quietly pursuing legal routes for compensation due to the green twats etc.1 point

In the great scheme of things, the referee's poor performance on Saturday wasn't a huge issue. We had other more pressing issues with which to contend. However, John Beaton was very inconsistent. Yes, I recall that very incident which had many fans on their feet in protest. I can't, in all honesty, blame SK for complaining about those decisions. I'm one of those sad fans who dislike stealing yards at free kicks and throw ins and so take an interest in such decisions. Beaton constantly pulled up our players for stealing yardage at throw ins but blatantly failed to do so with St Johnstone who were equally as guilty.1 point

No. I don’t even trust him with the funds Caldwell is giving him this window.1 point

I see Paul Smith is recovering from a heart attack, wishing him a speedy recovery. Him and Andy Walker had a good partnership in the 80's, both ....ahem.....crisp finishers !! 🤪 Get well soon Smudger, will never forget that equaliser in cup at tynecastle in 1987 when you cemented Henry Smith to set up Walker, plus your overhead effort against Rangers in league cup semi in 1987 also1 point

I don't boo managers or players. Never have. Never will. If people want Kettlewell out fair enough. I just hope the next manager lives up to expectations. I know plenty of Motherwell fans who don't want Kettlewell out - my issue is that we're supposed to think the entire support hate him based on yesterday? I don't. It's all a tad polarised on here at the moment and if you say you support Kettlewell you get laughed at and told you're an idiot by people who weren't even born when you started going to games. Or that you somehow are responsible for Motherwell not performing because you don't have high enough expectations for your team (I really have seen it all when I saw a post like that). People who like Kettlewell are responsible for Motherwells current performance I really hope that in two years time when he's gone - if we are still struggling that some people might revisit their opinions of him - doubt it though1 point
