No, we're just trying to run the place as best we can, and can do without barrack room lawyers who pipe up when people have stepped over the line, we run this for everyone's enjoyment and engagement, the mods do an excellent job.3 points

Apart from the score this performance is every bit as poor as last week.3 points

Sat through that entire mind numbing rot today and this for me sums up why SK's time is up. Time and time again he shoe horns players in so as to stick to a preferred set up that is clearly failing to deliver. Thus exposing player weaknesses and hanging them out to dry. Same reason I suspect Kaleta was kept on after he was clearly injured. Yet again his substitutions did nothing to alter the pattern of the game. Like for like. Re Balcombe. He certainly does not like catching a ball and he did not inspire confidence. That said, but for a couple of outstanding saves the game would have been lost much earlier. Just about passable performance first half after being handed a goal of a start through no effort of our own. Second half was pathetic. We still cannot defend corners. Thought Blaney did ok and Sparrow battled away as best he could. St Johnstone were even poorer than they were last week. Anybody who believes we are not in trouble is deluded.2 points

Maybe you should arrange the lunch with Stuart that you won sooner rather than later.2 points

I have heard from someone trustworthy that SOD went to higher ups and complained about Hammell and let's remember Alexander dropped him because he was Guff inthink Alexander treated him how his performances in a motherwell shirt warrant him to be treated. If I took over tomorrow he'd be first out the door.2 points

Im kinda done here SK constantly moaning about how small a budget he has yet he has managed to put a squad of about 2000 together and then must give the tactics of:- Plan A - smash the ball forward Plan B - try and hit it longer Plan C - try to go even longer Utterly horrid horrid football, I now dont even look forward to a Saturday anymore and its starting to annoy me now2 points

What happens when someone is promoted above their ability and given a blank cheque for several transfer windows? This is what happens. A massive and aimless squad who can barely muster more than 30% possession most games. Weâre going nowhere under Kettlewell, except down the table and decreasing our bank balance.2 points

Wtf does he say to them at half Time? I thought we were dominant the first half. Getting forward, keeping possession albeit not making many chances. 1-0 up and he clearly sets us up to get as many men as possible behind the ball and hold onâŚ. St Johnstone are fkn atrocious2 points

So we should ignore his remarks about "so called experts"? If he isnt talking about us, who is he talking about? Im all for cutting him slack on performances, injuries etc, but those comments go too far for me......2 points

You haven't. Other people have. There's been a few digs at me over the last couple of days - and it's really obvious to me that you can't say anything positive about Kettlewell without being called out. Im not the only person who has said positive stuff about him - but I feel it's only me that's being asked to justify their position. I feel out of place on this thread - particularly after a couple of comments that were aimed at me today and last night - and I'm going to step out. I feel like I'm constantly justifying myself - and it's too much energy There's no worries. Take care I will be sorry to see Stuart go but I think the writing is on the wall -and that's that.1 point

When Motherwell friendly members of the media are nervous or critical, then it generally doesnât end well1 point

We wont go down? I remember Hibs fans saying the same when they were in exactly the same position we are in now and they went down. A play off spot for us is a VERY REAL possibility.1 point

Oh, so familiar. Groundhog Day. It's happening again. Again, isn't it?! He was shown to be gash by December 2023, and he still won't do in January 2025. But it looks like our meagre budget is enough for a 30-man first team squad now. Groundhog Day mk2.1 point

Having sat through another 95 minutes of a turgid, flat and passive performance today, I've come off the fence and now believe it's time to part company with SK. Wasn't impressed with his post match comments blaming the players. He really needs to take responsibility. It's time to go Stuart.1 point

I would personally be very surprised if SOD has an attitude. If you see him at events like calendar signings - he spends a ridiculous amount of time with the young fans, why would you do that if you don't care about the club- this is all just conjecture the same way the Casey stuff last week was.1 point
-
So my basic point is and I'll be very clear about this if any player strolls into motherwell I don't care how good they are if they have an attitude if I don't like the manager and that's going to affect how much effort that is put on when they have a motherwell Jersey on that player and any player like that can get out the door and asked to never return. It's why I didn't want KVV back as well when others where furious we weren't putting in for him.1 point
-
Cause you monitor what he says n if you dont like it, it doesnt get posted same with yodo is that correct ???1 point
-
I personally don't think that's fair. By all accounts there were issues between SOD and Alexander but from what people who are connected with the club have suggested is that SOD wasn't treated very well by Alexander and wanted out. He wasn't playing for a chunk under Alexander - I don't think that's the same as downing tools. How can you down tools when you aren't getting a game. Also - if people did down tools under Hammell - they did it as a collective. It clearly wasn't just one player. Liam Kelly went on TV saying the players let Alexander down - after the Sligo games - how can any of that be pinned on one player? Where is the evidence that SOD had issues with Robbo and Hammell? The entire team didn't turn up at the Raith game - if players had an issue with Hammell and he lost the dressing room it wasn't just SOD to blame1 point

Heâs a fraudâŚthe message at half time is to push on and go on the front foot??? He for real!!! Try looking at your negative subs you fecking foul1 point

Just watched his post match interview, said he told them to attack, so either someone is telling porkies or the players are defying his offensive tactics. đ¤1 point

I wouldn't listen to I wouldnt listen to Lee Anne even if she had the winning lottery numbers. She seems to know everything about fuk all. After everything has happened. Anyway the manager is In the top six so the board won't get rid of him , for what may happen in future games ,only way he will go if he looses the fans which he is doing rapidly . A win today was a must and he blew it his radio interview after the game was blaming players, poor show . He has no attacking ideas in his head , no flair and the tactics he is dogadly sticking to are putting even me off going to games. It looks ominous but board won't make a movie as before they stuck with him.1 point

The semi final is a poor argument,we beat dundee utd at home the previous round,it was hardly some big achievement to get there.if we actually made it to the final then fair enough but kettlewells negative approach in the second half at hampden cost us making the final.1 point

It's just ran it's course nothing more nothing less it happens he has no ideas left and hasn't learned nothing so it's time to cut ties and move on.1 point

Oh man!! I think I am throwing in my towel now too. You just get a sense when the wheels are coming off and I never really got that sense during the long losing streak but the team had to make a statement today and they have not been able to do it. The manner of the defeat rings alarm bells too. I have fought the good fight but I am raising the white flag. If he does go now, what is for certain is that we are turning over managers at an alarming rate. I still believe that this says more about the challenges of the job than it does about the incompetence of what is a growing list of managers.1 point

Kettlewell âwe donât spend enough time in the final thirdâ Itâs a bit difficult when we canât keep possession.1 point

So it was more of the back 5 and with players playing out of position. Classic Kettlewell. What an idiot.1 point
-
Well I hope he's not lost the dressing room if he has there's some guys in that dressing room who have now fell out with 4 managers. And those players should perhaps be moved on1 point

Scored a penalty and created nothing. I am afraid that Kettlewell is a dead man walking. We are the worst football playing team in the league. Injuries?? Every team gets injuries. No excuses. Get rid of him now. Bottom six for sure and if this keeps up play off spot. Celtic next.1 point

Again 30 percent possession against bottom side. Changes needed.1 point

Just heard it myself. Not really in the Kettlewell in or Kettlewell out squad, but unbelievable this is our 5th away game in 23 days, so ÂŁ125 ish per adult plus travel, food, etc, and our manager has nothing to say to the fans. UnbelievableâŚ1 point
-
Well Mr Kettlewell, youâve put a target on your back from your condescending remarks midweek. A very dangerous decision to antagonise fans. A win and only a win will do for me to help ease some tensions between him and the fans. cmon the âWell1 point

If there was a serious problem between SK and Casey, then I doubt he'd be anywhere near the squad.1 point
-
Call me cynical but I don't believe a fit Casey would be benched for anyone else in that defence. This is purely punitive action by SK after the alleged fallout. If you believe the team is better of today with a fit Casey on the bench your delusional1 point
-
I'd go with a 4-1-3-2. It's slim pickings, but we seriously need to move away from the back 5, put someone in front of the back 4, and try get the middle 3 to feed and support the front 2. If that doesn't work, we've got Slattery and Nicholson to come on at h/t, and maybe Paton too if he's fit. Mair Kaleta/SOD Balmer Casey Blaney/Wilson Davor Sparrow Halliday Andrews Watt Maswanhise1 point

It's not though. What we often forget is that there is a human being on the other end of this discussion, who is working really hard for the club and who has saved us from relegation in the last two seasons. This thread was started very early in SK's tenure and has trundled on throughout his time at the helm. We are talking about a guy who has a career to build, a family to feed and who is an honest hard worker professional who has done well for this club. The appetite to sack managers is generally distasteful and it is really easy to be smart ( and often anonymous) on a football forum. I am not referencing you in this mfc88, just quoting your last sentence. Sacking manager threads should surface in times when a team is in turmoil. This team is not in turmoil and yet there are fans hell bent on creating instability and a false sense of turmoil. It seems that this is now as much a part of the entertainment as the football itself. I think SK deserves a bit more respect. He has earned it.1 point
