  1. I’ve been watching us now for more years than I care to remember and have to agree with your sentiment. I feel our club is in poor custodianship right now. Well-meaning people they may, be but utterly lacking in knowledge, skills and know-how as to what’s required to run a professional football club. Where are the changes and the investment that the Well Society were touting about when they railed against the potential US investors? For me it’s been downhill ever since and with no sign that anyone at the club has a handle on how to turn things around. The fans are now beginning to vote with their feet as shown by our attendances. Today we had 3,973 (couple of hundred from Dingwall?) and now regularly around that mark. Today Falkirk had just under 7,500 and Raith Rovers had about 3,800!! Poor attendances, a real live possibility of relegation which would lead to a drastic fall in revenues, no investment on the horizon. Sorry for being so negative but I think it’s a very bleak outlook for our club.

  5. That imposter knew we were rotten (his making ) and left before the inevitable and threw the support under the bus to deflect from his inadequacies as a manager. I hope his next shite is a hedgehog. Prick.

  6. He successfully managed Maritimo (sp), a Madeiran island team playing in the Portuguese league. Madeira is my favourite holiday destination so this links Grizzly's holiday chat with the manager thread. It is a dead cert!!!

  7. Would love that appointment for nostalgic reasons, but don't know much about his credentials tbh. Assistant at man utd for a few years so must have a bit about him. I know I'm the same, have always dreaded relegation but today is the first time I've thought fuck it, playing in the championship can't be any worse than this. Whoever the new manager is needs to be able to give the fans a lift as much as the players.

  8. The CEO needs to sort both the manager and the broader senior roles within the club. A few folk have mentioned McCall being one of the last decent managers we had 10 years ago. just comparing some of the squad from then to now (on McCalls last season when the wheels came off) Lee Hollis, Steve McManus, Shaun Hutchinson, Simon Ramsden, ZFA, Stevie Hammell, Chris Cadden, Keith Lasley, Faddy, Lee Erwin, John Sutton, Lional Ainsworth. Majority would breeze into our starting 11. We're probably not that different but it was clear we had 1) better quality 2) several players who came through the youth team 3) 22/30 from the squad were Scotts now 1) quality lacking 2) Miller & Wilson from youth team 3) 10/30 are Scotts. Majority now from England. Overall I feel we've really lost our way, the model of brining in journeyman from all over has lost our identity. We were always known for being a little bit amateurish but had plenty of folk around who cared. The core of players I'd question how many really care about the club. Same for some of the senior roles. In addition to appointing a new manager we need a long hard look at our strategy and getting back to our core. I know people often joke about having Van Der Gage, Nijholt, McFadden, Craigan, Lasley etc all back but at least they gave a damn.

  10. This mess has been the culmination of the last 2 year. Our impotence to get rid of a no win in 17 games manager and our recruitment policy have utterly fucked us.

  11. Maybe but it would help to put the right players on the park from the off and sort out the tactics. Will go a long way.

  13. We’ve had the lions share of possession but created heehaw and we look very vulnerable on the counter. We’ll never break them down playing like this. Far too slow and ponderous in our build-up and playing everything in front of them with no penetration. No contrast up front as Watt and Armstrong are too similar. I’d take Watt off and get Maswanhise on as a foil for Armstrong who seems more mobile and fitter than Watt.

  16. Without going on ad nauseum, I thought today's performance was very Kettlewellesque. Ok, we did enjoy more possession (as we did in our first game of the league season against them). However we lacked pace, leadership, creativity and penetration. When not in possession, we were passive, didn't work hard enough, sat off them and defended too deeply. In contrast they worked far harder and closed us down quickly. They defended 40/50 yards from goal and we struggled to get anywhere near their penalty box. Offensively, we simply lumped up too many high balls to their defenders, although we did play more on the deck today. The return of Lennon Miller and Callum Slattery is to be welcomed although the latter was well off the pace and clearly not match fit. Young Miller is a great and talented prospect but he's not the type of player to get fans off their seats or light a game up. His style doesn't suit our set up. An all too familiar story. A final thought. I think the bottom 4 teams will be St Johnstone, Dundee, Ross County and ourselves although I don't know in which order. Many are worried that we'll finish up in the play off slot but I'm concerned we'll finish up in the bottom one. The one great unknown factor though is our new manager, whoever he'll be (now not likely to be Mitchell van der Gaag, according to Scott Burns). My hope is that he blows in like a hurricane, brings the winds of change and steadies our ship. If he does that, or even arrives like a gale, then that'll do me. I'm writing off next Saturday at Tannadice as a free hit. However, I'll be looking to take a point off Dundee and beat St Mirren the following week. 4 points from those 6 may seem like an impossible task but no reason why we shouldn't go for it with a new man at the helm.

  18. This what frustrates me no end about the current (thankfully soon to be past) set up. Many of us have been saying this for weeks or even months, yet today he again starts there. Its not his fault. We say that because it just hasn't worked time after time. It's tantamount to shooting ourselves in foot needlessly.

  23. Absolutely. The game was lost at 1.45 when the team was announced. O'Donnell was never a central defender; why was Casey benched; Sparrow is never a wing back; Slattery is nowhere near match fit; Halliday?; what had Watt done to deserve a start? We obviously set out to match County physically, which was always doomed to fail. No pace in side. No Manwhanise or Nicholson for creativity. A cautious dull pedestrian line up and thats exactly how the game unfolded.

  24. A tad harsh. Yes, there is a lot of deadwood in our bloated squad but there are some decent players in there too. There are several problems though. The team is suffering from low confidence and secondly isn't playing for the current/old regime. Most importantly though we aren't getting the best out of what we have. Poor team selections, like today, and playing players out of position. We're no world beaters but aren't as bad as we appear to be. There's hope yet

  25. No excuse for not being able to catch a ball I'm afraid. He has done it every game for us including a friendly.

  26. Would love to hear who these 6 players are

  27. So today we had over 60% possession instead of our usual 30%. It didn't make any difference because quite simply the players are not good enough. Apart from about 6 players in the squad the rest should be nowhere near the Premier League. They have proved this game after game. Every team outplays us. Every team has more pace than us. Every team defends better than us. Oh and what exactly was the goalkeeper doing for the third goal. Slow as shit at getting down. To be expected after he fumbled three powder puff shots in the first half. If anyone thinks a new manager is going to stop this free fall down the league they are deluded. We can't score goals and we can't stop teams from scoring. We lost two games in a to the bottom club. We have now played Ross County three times. Drew 0-0 at home, lost 2-1 away and have now lost 3-0 at home. 1 point out of a total of 9. One of the worst Motherwell squads that I can remember. If the new manager was in the stand today I would advise him run 100 miles away from this job. it's a complete rebuild from top to bottom with now money. The Well Society should take a well earned bow for knocking back nearly £2 million offer from the Barmack family for 47 per cent stake in the club. The lunatics really are running the asylum.

  28. I saw enough today to know that we are in real trouble . Attitude of several players is a worry as is the lack of ability . Not sure if it’s calculated manipulation on the 3 senior players part or will full blindness on the part of management but how on earth to they continue to get a game . No leadership in that team , no desire and no balance . Kettlewell has really done the dirty on us with his signings and calculated underhand exit

  31. Here is the biggest problem, and one we have walked ourselves into. Previously, when replacing a manager mid season, we have had the players there for the new gaffer to work with, this time around, I dont think even pep could keep us up.

  32. Playing O'Donnell, Slattery and Watt in the same starting 11 is akin to putting a big red self destruct button in a toddler's playpen. Then you have Bacolmbe who couldn't grab his wife's tits, Thompson who's had an absolute shocker, and Halliday and Sparrow are totally anonymous. The boo boys have got what they wanted. Morale and confidence is totally shot. 9 points from 12 matches to stay up and that's basically our lot.

  33. Casey, Paton, Nicholson and Maswanhise to come in.

  34. Some reaction this has been. Total clear out of backroom staff required now and player clearout at end of season. No leadership on and off the field. Same tactics, same end result. Football is far to expensive to continue to be bothered with this lot. It's only a game, and there's plenty of things I would enjoy more.
