  1. I wish him all the best. A genuinely nice guy and nice speech wishing club well and thanking the fans . SK take note.....that's how you leave a club with respect

  3. It's amazing how people let their own opinions obliterate actual facts. Kettlewell took over and took us from 11th to 7th with a P15 W9 D3 L3 and one of the draws was at Celtic Park. If Wimmer even gets close to that record he'll be praised to the skies.

  4. Old news. We move on now. Lost all respect for him. Not denying there was unnecessary abuse at him but he definitely orchestrated that move and blamed it all on the support

  8. Just saw the clip of him arriving and meeting the staff and team. Fair play to Frail who stayed and conducted all the introductions. He didn’t have to do that considering he resigned today. A Top guy who deserves a bit of credit, good luck wherever he ends up, he’s conducted himself impeccably after being dumped on by SK. looking forward to see how the manager does, it’s a bit of a risky one but at least at the moment we have all the fans behind him instead of a % of us not wanting him due to a potential old firm bias or us having a football dinosaur or journeyman in charge of us. In Wimmer we trust (for the moment 🤣)

  11. Just get the wing backs pushed up to where they need to be, would be a start! Let the 3 centre halves deal with the defending part.

  12. Yip deffo even his pals in the media now seem to realise heez left us with a pile of dross. No doubt we will get “ his version “ IF we get enough points to stay up just a self centred ego bustin prick In my opinion 👍

  16. I had always stuck up for SK even throughout his disastrous run of games last season and most of this season but for him to bring this out in the sun on the day we appoint a new manager is really poor form, especially when he’s had almost a month to make a proper statement. This is one big FO to the fans really.

  20. There was a long slow demise where it looked like the job got to him . From the cup semi onwards a similar decline to the previous season . personal view is he was overworked and would benefit from having balance . CEO applauded him for being in the office from 7am to 8pm - I don’t see this as a plaudit - the guy came across more and more stressed as the weeks went on . Working all hours isn’t good for anyone . wish him all the best but tired of listening to his rhetoric .

  21. There's a few things which are incongruent in the whole piece. He talks at length about instances of abuse and his family hearing them, but says he hadn't even thought about resigning before the St Johnstone game, which he goes on to say his family weren't even at. Sounds a bit rage-quitty tbh I think despite him previously saying he'll never listen to fans etc, she'sclearly had clearly his ego dented. I think there are times for a dignified silence.

  22. I understand the sense of optimism attached to a completely fresh approach that a foreign management team suggests. However, the level of risk taken with this appointment in our current predicament surprises me. Personally, I’d have been more comfortable appointing someone of Wimmer’s profile in the summer or had we 4-6 more points on the board. As it stands though, we’re in relegation form with one of the most bloated squads around which will bring many challenges to someone that has limited experience of man-management, whilst being new to Scottish/British dressing room culture. I sense we’ll quickly work out whether the risks taken by our new Chairman and Board were well measured. My heart will sink a little if he quickly tells us we don’t have the players to play his high intensity pressing style (the style that all managers promise….). That aside, good luck to Wimmer. Hopefully my gut instinct is a mile out and we are genuinely going to have fun. Finally, fair play to Frail. He’s handled things in a very dignified manner.

  26. Your correct grizzly but ffs when did it come into his heed to start playing all his barmy formations and giving the oposition the ball to play with while we stepped off them when he took over we were up and in about teams thats how we got points on the table anyway feck him heez old news but i am counting the days till he pops up on BBC radio scotland spounting 💩

  29. Possibly a bit simplistic here, but a high/intense press is a bit of a no-brainer in our league, because if its deployed effectively (like Postecoglou's Celtic) most teams don't have the players with the technical ability to play round it.

  30. Not expecting much as you can't turn a supertanker around quickly. I'd take a draw right now. I'm looking for an uptick in attitude though and application though.

  31. Would take a draw just now. But let's see what happens. Players need to up their performance also. With new management team in place we hope for a positive reaction. If all the fans can get behind MW then as Hot Chocolate once said....."Everyone's a Wimmer Baby" More coats please 🤪🤪

  32. Welcome Michael Wimmer. I don't think the playing squad is a major concern. There are some decent players in the squad who are clearly lacking in confidence. If the new manager can inject some confidence into the team, identify the best playing position for each player and provide more balance in terms of formation then I this team could just as easily finish 3rd as 11th. Aberdeen's season proves how confidence is king, particularly in a league as tight as ours. Much could depend on how he manages the senior players. I am reminded of Jim Gannon alienating Craigan, Lasley and Hammell. If O Donnell, Watt, Halliday need some tough love then it will require some subtle management skills. I think we will be back to wimming ways soon (sorry Weeyin!).

  33. Aye, I’m impressed how such an apparently wee club ran by amateur committee’s, a novice chairman with no football experience and clueless officials top to bottom managed to keep such a secret never mind find a potentially exciting appointment. Maybe their not as bad as some folk think edit: not aimed at you weeyin

  35. Maybe this appointment will finally stop folk posting bookies odds on a new manager. Bookies odds tell us fuck all other than what bets are being paced by people who know fuck all. As for the appointment , its quite incredible how tightly wrapped the club kept this. Like ALL appointments its a gamble. No one ever comes with guarantees. I think he has a hell of a job ahead of him. As I have said before - and I know others don't agree - I don't rate our squad at all but all the new manager needs to do is stop us ending up 11th / 12th and in the summer we can clear out the huge amounts of dead wood in our enormous squad.

  36. Absolutely no idea if this will be a success or not. However....... From looking at his managerial record he has worked his way up the youth ranks at some pretty decent clubs in Germany and got to assistant at Stuttgart before getting his first managers gig at Austria Vienna. You dont get those jobs without having something about you and he has a distinct career progression to fall back on. Added to the fact its out the box thinking, all the photos/comms today project absolute positivity and no bugger mentioned him through the entire process? Im quite excited to see what he can do! Lets hope Wimmer's a winner!

  37. Ach, every manager says that nowadays. Who's the last manager anywhere that came in promising slow, passive football? But plenty of teams produce it...

  38. Yes, thats hould be a priority. Sweep away the Kettlewell passive one paced approach and bring some excitement back to get the fans on their feet and some points on the board.

  41. Work permit for football slightly different and looks like, in laymans terms, the bar for SFA 'expeptional' approval is slightly lower than that of the FA. That's how Rangers managed to sign Jefté. This was the related link posted on P&B: https://www.agcc.co.uk/blog-article/home-advantage-how-visa-rules-can-mean-a-win-for-scottish-football-clubs

  43. An nteresting left field appointment. Apparently he likes his teams to play with intensity and speed - that'll be a shock to some of the squad and coaches! Sounds good on paper. Welcome Michael.

  44. To be fair, The records of our last 3 managers were not that good either, its a new approach, so let's see what he brings to the club, hopefully stability, building a decent squad and maybe some entertaining football as a bonus, time will tell. How long has he got before the usual suspects are on here wanting him out?

  45. Calm down dear…. It’s not him

  46. The new manager should spend the next 10 days cancelling loans and kicking arses. Teaching the remaining players how to pass and defend the ball would also be a bonus.

  48. I thought Slattery and Miller had some good combinations without particularly creating any clear cut chances. Sparrow put in a great shift and should never have been subbed. But I went for Armstrong just for the amount of lost causes he chased, ground he covered and his general appetite for engaging his opponent.

  49. This mess has been the culmination of the last 2 year. Our impotence to get rid of a no win in 17 games manager and our recruitment policy have utterly fucked us.
