  1. Watched the whole thing now, and although I do have an element of sympathy over the family issues, its just so wrong on many other levels. Comes across as if he felt very under appreciated for all the work that he did and the sacrifices he made re his family life and thats all very well and good. Thats a principled decision you make as an individual. But dont make it about personal abuse of family members, which seems to be increasingly less the case the more you hear. It wasnt so much an interview as a PR piece by the journalist. Trying to paint it as there being a specific problem at Motherwell is beyond the pale. I presume Alexander is one being referenced and that the other office holders were the ex Chairman and his buddy. Absolutely no context given and just left hanging like a bad smell. Everyone knows that the behaviour of certain individuals at the football can be unpleasant and shouldnt be tolerated. But it happens at every club and is unfortunately part of the territory. It doesnt make it right. Just a fact that requires to be dealt with. If you are unable to deal with it, maybe being a football manager isnt for you?

  2. We’ll find out next year when he’s working at Arnold Clark. “tell you what Scotty, this is a great wee run around, I built it myself in my workshop, I’ve spent 20hrs a day working on it. I’m not going to take any advice on it from anyone who hasn’t dedicated their life tampering with a 1.2 engine…… “ ….it’ll work a treat for 6months and then it’ll be a right off and he’ll blame Arnold Clark”

  4. But thats the issue right there. Given what his job entails, you would think he would be reasonably up to speed on every premier league team. Its not like one of us being asked our educated position on the current state of affairs at Dundee for example. Scottish football journalism has long since had a problem with amatuers just posting it in

  7. I've got a feeling this might be a rough ride initially, I can almost hear Kenny McIntyre and his cohorts on radio getting their knives sharpened for a big pile on if the new regime doesn't start well. 5th when he left etc etc. They love nothing more than a crisis they can feast on (a la Adeen, Hibs, Hearts) It's going to be important that the fan base sticks behind him even if initial results disappoint, and I think it will as there is universal acceptance he has a huge task on his hands. (as long as an improvement in tactics, work rate and aggression is on show) .

  8. I do feel sorry that his wife had to take their kid out of the stadium at the st Johnstone cup tie but I think she was doing the kid a favour. I wish my mother would have taken me out the ground that day too and I’m 50yrs old.

  9. In my experience the overall percentage of eejits isn't much larger in the US than it is in most countries. However, the electoral college, and the senate seat system, gives them much more influence, and that is the root of a lot of problems. For example, every state gets 2 seats in the Senate. North and South Dakota combined have a population of just over 1.7 million. California has a population of nearly 40 million. The Dakotas get 4 seats in the Senate and California only gets 2. With only 100 seats in the Senate, that is a big discrepancy, The US politcal and legal system is way more complicated and nuanced than I understood before I moved here, but I quickly came to learn there is no "American way" or "American point of view". The federation very much makes it more like a continent of 50 countries than any single, unified force. If you take a trip from Hawaii through California to Idaho, Utah, Montana, Tennessee, Alabama, Kansas, Ohio, Florida, Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts (not the most direct route), you are going to see basically 13 different countries in culture, law and politics. Of course it's the eejits that get the attention, but when you look at everyone who voted for Brexit, who believed staying part of the UK was the only way to retain EU membership, who voted for Boris, who kept the Tories in power for 14 years, who made Farage a Euro MP etc. there is plenty stupidity to share around. Sadly, much like the first-past-the-post system in the UK, the electoral system in the US suits the politicians more than it suits the electorate, so it's unlikely to change any time soon. We now rejoin the current programme that was already in progress.

  11. I mean, There are some clever people here but the fact that they put the orange one back in the White House is soul destroying and testament to there being more idiots here than I ever imagined anyway! I digress……. ‘Mon the ‘Well!!!!

  12. Really poor interview from Kettlewell. Lost a lot of respect for him after that. Really buddy journo piece trying to get his side of the story out and big him up on the day our new manager is announced is pretty classless. He could have been remembered as a fairly decent Motherwell manager who ran his course and fell on his own sword. But he has burned his bridges there with that piece.

  17. Totally agree, he frustrates the hell out of me. Feel sorry he was put in that centre defence role. He either plays RWB or he is on bench. Seemples

  18. After the sunsport interview yesterday I think we all make even bigger effort to get right behind Michael and Ahmet. These lads need all the backing from us and plllleeeeaaasseeeee lots of patience. It's a massive rebuild so won't happen overnight and heyyyy they might get a tune out of the players, even the ones who take a ridiculous amount of stick on here ( SOD, Halliday). These lads wear the jersey and don't deliberately go out to play poorly. Encouraging them makes a huge difference. COYW

  19. Ward is a free agent we signed on deadine day. Before that he was playing in Finland for AC Oulu. He's only 24 and played about 100 games in the last 3 years so I assume he'd be alright can't say I've ever watched tho.

  20. Yes, I think he is shocking, much preferred Richard Gordon but I guess he was too 'gentlemanly', seems they are dumbing down like Clyde etc

  21. Yes its important that we all get behind our new boss. It will be far from smooth but as long as we can see some improvement in attitude and work rate then that will win the fans over. Patience is the key.

  22. I was in hospitality that day too - was a strange one when that happened. As you say though that would explain it.

  23. One final thing. He notes his family (apparent Rangers fans) were in hospitality at the Aberdeen game. I was hospitality as well and there were cheers going up when Rangers scored (Game was on the TV). I was a bit bemused at the time, but makes more sense now, although could be circumstantial.

  24. Agree with you, I was a supporter of his on here and had sympathy re injuries etc...I've only read bits and pieces and won't listen to interview. Really gone down in my estimation now , on same day we appoint a new boss, all a bit tacky.

  27. Yup, Frail didn't need to do any of that today. Total respect plus his statement to club and fans was excellent. Welcome back anytime Stevie

  28. Just saw the clip of him arriving and meeting the staff and team. Fair play to Frail who stayed and conducted all the introductions. He didn’t have to do that considering he resigned today. A Top guy who deserves a bit of credit, good luck wherever he ends up, he’s conducted himself impeccably after being dumped on by SK. looking forward to see how the manager does, it’s a bit of a risky one but at least at the moment we have all the fans behind him instead of a % of us not wanting him due to a potential old firm bias or us having a football dinosaur or journeyman in charge of us. In Wimmer we trust (for the moment 🤣)

  29. Ahmet just asked Wimmer if he knew what number Zach Robinson played. He said no.

  31. Not expecting much as you can't turn a supertanker around quickly. I'd take a draw right now. I'm looking for an uptick in attitude though and application though.

  32. If he got job Imagine him blaming the luvvies for abusing him. "Kettlewell, you've put too much gel in your hair" "Kettlewell, your beard needs a trim" He could resign on the spot 🤪🤪
