  1. Not that I would ever do it of course, but apparently any decent VPN will circumvent the geographical restriction on MFC TV. (But you would need to have signed up for an international subscription, too.)
  2. Which is daft, because they'd get even more of those if they actually improved the national team.
  3. And later that same evening, so was this one.
  4. Well, some of it is. The Spain v Netherlands game tonight was a belter.
  5. One of the very few times when "we've never had a better chance to beat Rangers, worst team they've had in years", and then actually did. Pleasing.
  6. Might have missed it in all the excitement, but hadn't noticed anyone posting this - Derek Rae (who covers German football for ESPN) gave a quick interview on Radio Scotland today about the appointment. Starts at 1h 19m 30s here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m00282w8
  7. Hardly... our average for recent appointments is 16 days, McCall took 20, Barraclough took 41.

    Racist abuse

Can't you? Sadly it's not remotely unusual, and is far more prevalent now than it was before, say, 2016-ish, especially on social media platforms owned by those with views that might be considered a tad fashy.
  9. Will certainly be interesting to hear how "we will have a presence of Well Society board members at the foot of the steps to the Cooper suite from about 2pm tomorrow for anyone who would like to raise any points" went.
  10. Don't think anyone's official statements specified whether it was online or otherwise, did they?
  11. And to be honest, just keeping their mouths shut and getting on with it for a while probably isn't a bad idea, given their current standard of public communications.
  12. Are we confident that he didn't fully back or suggest most of those mistakes in the first place, given that (officially) we're not managerless as a result of how the team is playing?
  13. Accidentally clicked on the wrong mailbox when looking for my daily dose of SO comments this morning, and this was the first email I saw. Took me a minute to figure out what was going on...
  14. Not if that's what it takes. I've seen plenty of Motherwell teams that were difficult to play against, and none of them were full of nasty players or big physical units.
  15. If that's ever our actual plan, I'm out for good.
  16. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jan/19/paul-lambert-interview-dortmund-motherwell-celtic-zidane
  17. No doubt. In general, though, I still enjoy shitfest wins massively less (probably disproportionately so) than ones where we've played some easy on the eye stuff.
  18. Trouble is, as soon as you put a time limit on it, everyone starts rushing to make sure a decision gets made within the time (or, if you're a conspiracy theorist, takes just a wee bit too long), both of which would likely result in mistakes too.
  19. Also. "free speech" means hee-haw on a moderated forum on which everyone agreed to the rules and regulations when they signed up. (And generally, especially outside but even within the US, means nothing like what people think it means anyway.)
  20. Mainly because folk bang on about it before and after it happens, but never mention it again when we just turn up and win anyway, which is probably statistically about as often as you'd expect Motherwell to beat anyone.
  21. And to be honest, not many legendary full-backs attain that status for their goalscoring prowess.
  22. It does. But long before social media was a thing, folk used to write to Points of View every year moaning about which TV presenters weren't wearing poppies and which were showing off by wearing the ones with the extra green bits.
  23. On paper his pedigree before he joined us was perfectly decent, with Leeds United paying decent money for his services, and representing his country at every level from U-17 to full international (including one in which he clogged Steven Gerrard at Wembley). I don't remember anyone ever touting him as a goalscorer, though.
