Also worth reiterating, since the only place I've seen it mentioned at all is on the 'fishel site, that he hit it with his 'wrong' foot.

At the end of the day it's against the law to take smoke bombs or flares into Scottish football grounds, so anyone doing so is just asking for trouble either for themselves and/or the club. Unless and until that changes, whether or not it helps to "create a bit of atmosphere" shouldn't even be up for debate.
