  1. The pitch has hardly "come back to haunt us"... this season, at least, we made extensive (and expensive) efforts to rectify it, so it's not as if the club had been ignoring it, or tried to fix it on the cheap. In all that time, Saturday was the first time I would be inclined to say the pitch had a direct influence on the result. And if we do fail to qualify for Europe, it won't be down to that one game-- we've dropped plenty of other points home and away that we shouldn't have.
  2. Yet in the old days, having a keeper who came to claim the ball regardless of who he blootered out the way to get to it was thought to be a Good Thing
  3. At the risk of being accused of happy-clappiness, luck really wasn't on Fraser's side today either. First goal, how many times have you seen the keeper kick the ball off the attacker and the ball actually end up in the net? Very rarely; more often than not, usually trickles wide or balloons over the bar. Stevie Kirk used to try and score like that every week for years by standing in front of the keeper at kick-outs, and I'm not entirely sure he ever did (I remember he had at least one disallowed, though!) Second goal, I'm not so sure Fraser wasn't just trying to knock it out for a shy (haven't watched it back yet, though), and even if he wasn't, Reynolds should probably just have let it go out for one instead of trying to control it at an awkward height in that position with a United forward nearby.
  4. 3-2, Sutton again.... glimmer of hope?
  5. 3-1, game over I fear. Another slip in the build up.
  6. Another goalkeeping blunder, another corner, another goal.
  7. Craigan looks like he'll have to come off.
  8. Can we swap tellies? We've hardly strung two passes together on mine.

  10. Paying Murdoch £30-odd quid a month for the privilege of watching his programmes is hardly 'free', mind you.
  11. I might make it over for one of 'em, but you'll have to pay my air fare for the rest
  12. Neither. Like the system or loathe it, we all know what we're getting into at the start of every season, and that somebody's going to get the rough end of the stick after the split. No point moaning about it now, if the clubs want to fix it, they know what they have to do. On the plus side, I don't expect Hibs are delighted at having to visit Fir Park three times this season either...
  13. I'd be raging if I had to go and see Peter Kay as well. "Garlic bread? What's that all about, eh? D'you remember school milk? Eh? Do you?" Aye. Now feck off.
  14. On our last couple of showings, we'll be doing well to finish sixth
  15. No they don't, the season here runs from March to October, with promotion playoffs in November.
  16. Sorry, just realised this article was published last year, so dunno why it popped up in my Google Alerts today. Still, you can't read about it too often, can you?

  19. Have never met the man, but to be honest, in any company, the chairman and the board are rarely the best people to be letting near the paying punters, especially ones with gripes. They're usually successful business folks who Haven't Got To Where They Are Today by worrying too much about touchy-feely customer service skills.

    Bounce Game

Does that apply to loans? Thought the loaning club could still recall anytime they liked. (Anyways, Broony said "David Moyes is probably going to have to recall Lukas Jutkiewicz at the end of the season", so nothing to worry about either way...)
  21. Tough call, though. Do you pick the team that you think is going to win you the cup, or the team you think the fans might like best?
