  1. There's a KF Flamurtari and an KS Flamurtari Vlorë... presume it's KF that's in the draw? KF_Flamurtari KS_Flamurtari_Vlorë EDIT: Ignore that, KF are in Kosovo, not Albania...
  2. It's 18 according to http://www.uefa.com/live/competitions/uefa...draw_basic.html ... EDIT: Oh, no it's not, their numbers don't line up. 17 it is.
  3. Just typical of course that I'm away from the 2nd-9th July, so I'll miss both games... so St. Pat's or Derry City in the second round please!

Aye, changed days though... back in the 80's there were are at least a couple of shops in Hamilton (Viking Sports and the Sportsman's Emporium, and the InterSport beside FineFare/Gateway as well come to think of it) where you could usually find whatever Motherwell gear you were after. There was a lot less of it in those days of course-- strips and scarves, and not a great deal else.
  5. I wouldn't ... costs me an extra 20 quid a month (i.e. doubles my cable subscription fee) to get Sky Sports here compared to the package that includes Setanta, and there's no way I'm paying them that just to watch us get humped by Rangers or Celtic once every couple of months!
  6. Surely we'd only be hiring something like that, rather than paying a fortune for something we'd only be using once...?
  7. To be honest, I think most folk just need something different to moan about while there's no games going on As soon as the players get back for pre-season and the build-up to Europe begins proper, we'll likely all be lapping it up again!

However, his experience is mostly of the "being crap at it" variety. The only reason people here don't hate him for Ireland's shocking displays when he was in charge is that they all thought he was a terrible appointment in the first place, for which they lay the blame squarely at the FAI's door...
  9. Not that daft from his perspective, really... Bohemians are regular challengers for the domestic league and cups, and often qualify for Europe. Come and manage most of the teams and the SPL, and you're battling for mid-table mediocrity and the occasional lucky cup run most years, albeit in front of an extra couple of thousand people a week.

Haven't we already established that any "talks" wouldn't be happening at Fir Park anyway...?
  11. Also worth noting that Fenlon walked out on Derry City after just a few months when results weren't going as well as he was used to. Possibly not a great character trait for any potential Motherwell manager?
  12. Hmm. Given what Pat said about moving to Scotland only yesterday, sounds like some serious convincing from JB would be required to make that happen. Clicky
  13. He also has strong emotional ties to the club, being the late great Phil O'Donnell's nephew, and having been playing alongside him the day he died. Clarky really doesn't seem the type to be motivated by money, but if anyone seriously wanted to tempt him away, that alone might require offering him the sort of personal terms that it would just be impossible for any sane person to turn down...
  14. Certainly won't be Neil Lennon anyway... he's just been confirmed as part of Mowbray's new team at Shellic Park.
  15. Who's to say we didn't? We'd hardly have been shouting about it from the rooftops if we did, and whoever we asked might just have said no thanks.
  16. Who won...? Just curious, like
  17. However badly McLeish fecked it up when he tried to put his own stamp on our team, the record book will still show that under him, Motherwell were serious title challengers. How long till we ever see that happen again, I wonder.
  18. Yep. Great record as Shelbourne manager, did feck all when he went to Derry City and resigned less than a year later, and then won the league by a mile with Bohemians last year. Bear in mind the Irish league is mostly about Scottish first division standard, though, and the last manager to move from there to the SPL (Stephen Kenny) didn't exactly set the heather alight.
  19. I doubt they'll exactly be reading the forums for names they hadn't thought of, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone in their midst (mentioning no names!) might at least be keeping them abreast of the overall gist of our opinions... I'd imagine, though, that the rest of the board, coaching and scouting staff would be JB's main advisors.
  20. You'd be surprised how many people do (and get a discount)... I blame Dom Littlewood!
  21. Bizarrely enough, it was probably the video of Kilbowie that brought back some of the strongest memories for me... no idea why, just remember the place really clearly!
  22. Harsh. Not everyone is cut out to manage an SPL club, and if that's how he feels I'd much rather he walked away now than felt pressured into taking the job and then making an arse of it.
