Went for Dunne, classy defensive performance even though a lot of his distribution was still mince. Bowman did pretty well when he came on, and thought McHugh had one of his better games recently too.

Indeed, you never know which players will make the transition well. But it sounds like it's something he's been keen to do for quite a while, so at least he has that going for him. (Cf. Faddy, the most unlikely assistant manager the club will likely have for a while.)

Indeed. Unless we end up getting relegated this year, which I doubt even given our recent performances, in the cold light of day it'll go down as a great bit of business by the club, hopefully with sell-on fees to come.
