Vince Lunny weighs in on the Alves ruling... http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/41747625
-
*shrug* Doesn't seem like it should be a big surprise to anyone that kicking your legs around another player on the ground is sometimes going to get you a card. But in this case it didn't, so it's all good.
-
No surprise there, he said he was expecting to be hearing from them in this morning's press conference. If he gets the same one-match ban that Caixinha's likely to be getting, I'm sure we'll cope.
-
That. If the ref decided there was intent in "kicking his legs towards Alves", which was quite possible given he'd just been on the receiving end of an attempted assault, he could have been in big trouble, contact or not.
-
Loved Robbo's response in the presser this morning when journo asked for his thoughts on Caixhina saying we wouldn't finish the Final with 11 men on the pitch if we played like that again
-
It is, the FIFA definition is "feigning injury or pretending to have been fouled". So we can only assume they think Ambrose played the ball.

Nice wee 5 minute video from the SPFL with some different camera angles: https://twitter.com/spfl/status/922471386215362561/video/1

All goals from that semi-final here, Psycho's at 4'50", Kirkie's at 6'20":
-
Highlights up on YouTube now.
-
Still doubt he'd take it. Seems dead set on wanting to try his luck on a bigger stage against better opposition every week, and who can blame him.
-
Would've been half-tempted to vote for Carson myself, if I'd been there. Inspired confidence in the team from the back all day, and one of the few who didn't try to kick anyone either That said, the decision not to sell Louis even though we knew he'd walk for free instead has surely now proven to be correct beyond all doubt.
-
I think they said on BT Sport that we never have... couldn't tell you whether that's the case though.
-
Weird feeling beating Rangers at Hampden and not actually feeling all that surprised. Already preparing to hear about how we battered and cheated our way to the final for the next ten years or so, mind... not great ones for appreciating irony, those chaps.

What on earth is Bowman playing at.

Here's a scan of the Herald from the following day, is it in this one? https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=GGgVawPscysC&dat=19760402&printsec=frontpage&hl=en EDIT: Apologies, that's from two days later, here's the one from the next day, and they have all the others from around that time: https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=GGgVawPscysC&dat=19760401&printsec=frontpage&hl=en

Scottish Premiership Game 8: Partick Thistle (H) Saturday 30/09/17

Mibbe not, but there are plenty of good coaches who were pretty average themselves at what they're coaching. (And vice versa.) -
Scottish Premiership Game 6: Hibernian (A) Saturday 16/09/17

Minimum of 12 days, according to the SFA protocol (7 days rest, then 4 days restricted training activity). -
I dunno about the letter of the law and I only have one viewing of the highlights to go on, but it looked to me like he'd got his shot away before the contact. So a yellow seemed fair to me, whatever the rule book says. I'd probably say different if it had affected the result, of course...

I'll be at the theatre. Get me. -
Of course, with only a relatively small audience to market these things at, it's easy to annoy them by asking them to put their hands in their pockets too often, too. I have to admit that since I already make a monthly donation, I just haven't really felt particularly motivated to contribute to any of the other efforts Jay has mentioned (and I don't really know what would).
-
This seems like a good idea to me. If people just chucked their copper change in there whenever they bought something it would soon add up.
-
Burrows out!

It's annoying, but it is what it is. Without knowing how much it costs to keep the lights on at an average League 1 or 2 club every week, it's hard to know what sort of transfer fees they need to bring in just to balance the books every year, and how that compares to us. In an ideal world a club would pay the same for the same level of player regardless of where they were buying, but at the end of the day it's a business transaction, and they'll pay the smallest amount the selling club can afford to accept.

He won one of the sponsor's MoM awards though, so I doubt he's too disappointed.

Scottish Premiership Game 4: Hearts (H) Saturday 26/08/17

To be honest, I've watched the BBC footage half a dozen times, including the freeze frame, and between the crappy camera angle and Andy Rose in the way, I still couldn't tell you from that alone whether the whole of the ball was over the whole of the line at the moment he headed it, even though my initial full-speed reaction was that it must've been. So while I'd have expected them to at least have another look at it on the programme, they probably wouldn't have been able to say much other than "I dunno" either, which doesn't make for a riveting discussion. Rightly or wrongly, the fact that it ultimately didn't affect the result probably bumped it down their priority list, too.
