  1. Pretty much what 'Flow said in his interview after the game last night:
  2. According to the online commentary, we'd actually been practising our shooting...

Only downside really is that if, as in this case, it turns out to be a waste of time for the player himself, potentially hindering his development, then it might put a damper on any other deals or negotiations between the two clubs in future.
  4. To be fair, I saw them ask on Twitter very recently for people to get in touch if they hadn't received the email they'd recently sent out, and the event has been publicised both there and on the society's Facebook page. I appreciate that's not much use if you don't use either of those services, but equally it's hard for them to get in touch any other way if they don't have the right details for you.
  5. Pretty much what one or two on here have said, too. I dare say we'll find out eventually.
  6. Didn't notice a topic about this, but the new fan engagement manager has launched a fan survey. Details and link at http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2016/11/17/survey-my-club-my-views/
  7. If I recall, the "effort" on the Phil O'Donnell stand, if you're referring to the metallic sculpture bit, was made in collaboration with his family and includes certain elements that had a special meaning to Phil that they didn't want to publicly discuss. Which, to be honest, seems more important than what the rest of us think about it.
  8. Only if his first name wasn't Fred.
  9. As the article said, if it means just one 10 year old coming to a game asking their dad (or okay, more likely their grandad) about who John Hunter was, then it helps to keep that remarkable part of our history alive. The regulars will still call it the East anyway, so hard to see how it has any downsides really.
  10. I don't doubt it was over from what everyone is saying, but you certainly can't tell from that.
  11. All football clubs are bottomless pits.. it doesn't matter how much money you give them, you're never going to see any of it back, and they're always going to ask you for more next week. The only question is whether the entertainment and memories you get back instead were worth it.
  12. Indeed they do not. Luckily, like yourself, my 20+ years as a successful UX designer had shown me that already. They also tell me that Steelmen Online is not a product that needs to be sold, and to be honest I'm not entirely sure why people are so concerned about whether the traffic is doing up, down or sideways in the first place. Does it really matter? Times and interaction preferences change, and if and when it becomes financially unsustainable, then we'll say goodbye and move onto something else. (To be honest, I'd already quite like to have something like a Slack channel instead, but that's probably just me and my silly AB preferences...)
  13. Anyone who wants emails from the forum -- and I live in my email client, so I'm definitely one of them -- can set up their preferences to get an email every time a new topic is posted to any sub-forum, or any time a new post is made to a specific thread. That's a lot more useful to me than spammy digest emails, to be honest... means the only time I actually have to visit the website itself is if I've had an email about a post that I want to reply to. (Or actually, to subscribe to a new thread that I've had an email about... annoyingly, in this latest version of the forum software, the 'new topic posted' email doesn't include a 'subscribe to new posts' link, which the previous version used to have.)
  14. Or the SPFL's highlights are up on YouTube, if you can persuade your browser that you're not in the UK or Ireland.
  15. Well, it doesn't count in the stats, but we did have a goal chalked off for offside. So there's that.
  16. I guess I'm in the 1%. I've been known to take a draw or a scrappy win before a game, but never a defeat, however narrow.
  17. Craigan himself has said on several occasions over the past year that he doesn't think most of them are ready for it yet, and I doubt he'd just be saying that because McGhee told him to. That said, if they're not ready now, they're probably never going to be ready by playing in the u20s until they're too old, so somebody will have to make a leap of faith at some point.
  18. Nice to see that Forest away kit again too... the 1979 version (same but without the European Cup embroidery) was the first kit I ever owned.
  19. Not that daft really, professional footballers are probably still in a strong position to influence other games via their mates playing for other teams, etc. It surely isn't that big a sacrifice to make for doing a job most of us would give our right arms to do.
  20. In which a Nordy bloke who'll be drawing his pension next year beat them all single-handed? Yep, nasty bunch.
  21. Not even in the top five these days: http://the18.com/news/what-fastest-hat-trick-all-time-comparing-aguero-and-lewandowski-history
  22. Which was also a world record at the time, if I recall.
  23. Cleaning the paint off the steps?
  24. (Netmasks and subnets are surely nothing but binary numbers...?)
