  1. And if we're allowing Ian St John, then Leitch left us to manage Ross County before returning again as Assistant Manager, of course.
  2. 3. Regardless of the rules, I always thought artificial pitches had to be laid as flat as possible? There's far too big a slope on our pitch that would cost far too much to sort out first.
  4. I can't imagine it's very hard for the bigger English clubs to find teams that would snap up a fringe EPL or Championship player on loan or otherwise, so I don't expect there's much incentive for them to give priority to a mid-table SPL team.
  5. It's fair enough if you lived somewhere else for a while and actually went to some games, or have family connections. But aye, otherwise it mostly smacks of Old Firm-style glory-hunting
  6. I doubt it. I'd expect there to be scope in the plan for adjusting the ratio between average punters, wealthy punters and businesses to make up any significant shortfall. And I'm sure the club are already well aware of roughly how many, or few 'Well fans are likely to be able to afford to buy in anyway.
  7. Herne Bay anyone? http://www.yourcanterbury.co.uk/p_139/Article/a_14336/Herne_Bay_hoping_to_create_link_with_Scottish_Premier_League_side
  8. Personally I'd expect it to be as much of a non-event (on the park, at least) as every other pre-season friendly, but we'll see.
  9. Fine, if they're happy to pay for my flights to Scotland every other weekend out of those wages...
  10. His league stats, at least, were much the same: 53 goals in 173 appearances (30% strike rate), compared to 32 in 98 with us (32%). For the record, Higdon's career (league) stats are 43 goals in 204 appearances (25%).
  11. Expect not, but if you can access the Listen Again version (which I think you should be able to, even outside the UK), there are some tools around like Radio Downloader that can download it as an MP3 for you.
  12. I see Langfield spent last night in hospital after a seizure, cause as yet unknown... so their plans may yet change. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13605960.stm
  13. Amongst other things, heard that some buses weren't allowed to pick up where they were supposed to, so nobody could find them, and some buses didn't (or weren't allowed to) leave for an hour or so after everybody was on board.
  14. He'd hardly be the first EPL player to come up here, and it's not like he hasn't seen and done all that the EPL has to offer a hundred times over by now. So seems unlikely, but not exactly unthinkable.

    Tom Boyd

The thinking, I suppose, was that he'd be a Celtic representative that the Motherwell fans might not boo, and might even applaud. The reality might have been different, couldn't tell from where I was sitting (round in section P, where the pair of them never came past anyway).
  16. Indeed. Quote from the offical site, on April 23rd: http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2011/04/23/mccall-delighted-with-steel-grit/
  17. That should be at least three or four goals a season we're guaranteed, then.
  18. It's three years, according to STV at least. http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/hearts/252216-john-sutton-moves-to-hearts-from-motherwell/
  19. Yep. 'Fishel site stats: Started:10 Sub:2 Goals:2 Yellows:2 Reds: 0
  20. Sutton or Jeffers? 'Fishel site (or the latest Google cache of it) says Sutton's stats at Motherwell are: Started: 102 Sub: 22 Goals: 43 Yellows: 3 Reds: 0
  21. Yep. I'll be happy if Jeffers chooses to hang around, but he's not the sort of guy who's going to score ten goals a season from three yards out.
  22. The season before last (Wigan)?
  23. Nah. Would rather keep our 100% winning record against Ajax
  24. Afraid he didn't do enough homework on Ki, then... he's scored at least a couple of decent efforts with that foot from the edge of the box and beyond this season. Maybe none quite as impressive as the one he rattled in on Saturday, but definitely good enough that you wouldn't want to be giving him the option.
  25. Nae wunner we lost, it says we were going to on the cards!
