    Celtic (Scf)

Hutch. The only player who looked willing to roll his sleeves up and get in about them.
  2. Presumably to try and take the opposition by surprise, given that they would have been more than familiar with every other formation we've played this season. No doubt they worked hard on it in training, and it didn't come off when it mattered, but them's the breaks. Hopefully McCall will learn from it, if nothing else.
  3. As I just said over on the game thread, certainly don't feel as let down as I did after the '05 final. But for the width of the crossbar and the ref bottling an obvious sending off, it could have been a different game, But it's been a long season for our lads and it showed.
  4. Just back home now. Not quite as disappointing as the CIS Final in 05, but looked a game too much for some of them after a long season. Had Gunning's rocket gone in or Majstorivic been sent off when he should have been it might have been a different game, but such is life. Card display looked great btw!
  5. Yep, confirmation in the Scotsman today: http://sport.scotsman.com/football/Porto-provide-incentive-for-Celtic.6771293.jp
  6. Me neither, but luckily it was a bit big on me in those days!
  7. It'll be the 1991 'SFA Cup Final' away top for me, which I wore on the day in '91. Probably the last time I'll ever wear it, well past its best as it is :/
  8. Reminded again there that Ryan Giggs had already made his Man Utd debut (and scored his first goal, although it looked more like an O.G.) before the '91 final. Probably a bit of a stretch to think that Uncle Phil, having made his debut at about the same time, might still have been in our team this weekend having not long turned 39, but who knows... he always said he'd missed too many games in the middle of his career to hang up his boots too soon.
  9. Not the longest journey for me either, but I'll be heading over from Dublin tomorrow night.
  10. Photo rather reminded me of this, which probably isn't quite the image he was going for...
  11. When we headed off to Hampden in '91, we left my mum and her mum behind at home. Neither of them had any interest in football, but turned out they'd both watched the game anyway to see what all the fuss was about (although my mum always claimed my gran had made her watch it!) Might not have been 'Well fans most of the time, but I suppose they were that day. We'll be leaving from the same house on Saturday, but they're both gone now.
  12. Thought the winning club always used to get some 'spare' winners medals to distribute as they saw fit? If so, hard to imagine they wouldn't have given one to Softie and/or Big Nick.
  13. Not many funerals on a Saturday, mind you... costs extra!
  14. Psycho speaks: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/scottish/well-well-orsquoneill-is-predicting-more-woe-for-celtic-16001590.html
  15. Each to their own I suppose. Anytime I've won anything I didn't want, I've given it away (or given it back)... just seems a bit mean to do otherwise.
  16. So he won them, presumably for free, but he wants to sell them for £150? Cheeky git!
  17. Didn't know the club had a hairdresser
  18. Didn't mean just today though, it's every game since the split. Today would indeed have been a difficult selection regardless, but we're now going into the final with a team that hasn't played together, let alone won a game, for weeks. Of course, if it comes off, the man's a genius
  19. Still don't agree with McCall's tactics of resting so many players in all the games since the semi-final, but it will certainly be a different game next week whatever happens. Bring it on.

  21. Our friend Shaun Moloney on for second half.
  22. Nice long interview with Craggs in the SoS today. http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/football/Interview-Stephen-Craigan--.6768468.jp
  23. Half time. Played well enough for 20 minutes, but have looked a bit devoid of ideas since then.
  24. Samaras wins a free kick for standing on Hutch.
