I never really buy the "nothing to play for" thing, to be honest. The games when there's no pressure to get a result should be the ones when you're playing at your unshackled best and even toying with the opposition a bit, not just strolling around looking uninterested.

Fwiw, the average VAR offside decision in the EPL (a couple of years ago) took 34 seconds. It's the other decisions that tend to take longer.

That's precisely why. Any or all of those can apply whether you touched the ball first, last, or not at all. (The laws were changed a good 10 years ago to remove the bit about whether you touch the ball first.)

Irrelevant, I'm afraid, unless you don't think it was even a foul. The criteria for deciding whether a foul merits a red card don't include whether the player touched the ball.
