Where do you start with that Felt sorry for the ball we seemed determined to hammer into submission 40/50 yard diagonals to strikers who haven’t a clue in the air … then bring another striker on and play him behind the 2 dumplings who’ve been there from the start Robsinson’s subs were bazar to say the least As for Chris Cadden we should take any money coming our way and run don’t know wether it’s our shape or where he’s being asked to play but can’t remember the last time he went past a man and his delivery was atrocious -
Whit’s the chances of Cadden going to Hibs if McGinn god to Villa
-
Your right and they came up with Salmon .... same guys who came up with Moult Johnston Kipri Dunne Hartly and Aldred He has played in Premiership with Killie Hearts and Partick also in English Championship and has Irish international caps Some may not rate him but we are obviously only paying a fraction of the wages we would have to pay for someone with that CV Can’t have it all ways
-
I’m sure the club are trying to punt Bigi …… problem is you need someone to take him and he’s got year left on his contract but SR obviously ain’t going to play him As for “striker of quality” yea they grow on trees …… could you name one at the price and wages we could afford
-
True but they have 14k season tickets holders Our hard core support is 3k - 3.5k Come into the real world of who and what we can compete against Yip we could go down the John Boyle route ……… look where that got us
-
At the start of last pre season we played 2 centre half’s one in each half at Stirling … both played well but we did not have budget for both We couldn’t agree money with the more experienced one (who looked the better on the day) and we signed Cedric The other one went back to the French 2nd Div I think Wonder what he’s up to now

IMO a midfield is all about balance If you look at whose played in our midfield 3 to date Cadden, Campbell, Grimshaw, Rose and McHugh (if you class him as a midfielder) are all of similar style/type Strong , make tackles, break up play, run with the ball .....none of them can make a telling pass Bigi and Gorrin can take ball from back 3 and link the play without resorting to 40/50 yard diagonal balls (Gorrin what little we’ve seen of him looks like he can tackle) Yet in our games so far a combination of the top 5 have made up our midfield 3 against Div2 and Championship sides. Gorrin used sparingly and Bigi not at all ......On Saturday when Gorrin came on he was always available to take the ball of the back 3 and actually passed the ball on the deck to a Motherwell player. We really need to get the midfield 3 soreted ..... It was reported that we were chasing Gorrin in the January window get him in during the summer then don’t start him

Any word on Big Bowmans injury ? Saw him after the game on Tuesday and he was limping quite badly

Think we’ve used 19 different players in first 2 games The same underlying problems as last season are still very much in evidence Lack of creativity Lack of guile Lack of pace, Are McGuire, Turnbull and Scott now classed as first team squad members? Youngsters seem to being pushed further down the pecking order. In his 2 starts towards the tail end of last season, David Turnbull for example was excellent wasn’t even in the squad yesterday with McHugh being moved from centre half to midfield
-
So why not play him ?? Boy is hungry to show what he can offer the 1st team Think we can all agree there was not much creativity in our midfield last season Turnbull sits on the bench for 90 minutes then we go down to Stranraer and McHugh is back in midfield and Turnbull not even on the bench Think this is what Ya Bezzer is getting at re youth development
-
Or play a youngster find out that he can compete at this level and is a better option than some of so said new signings Alan Campbell was not quoted at start of last season got his chance took it with both hands and kicked on with every game he played
-
Agree re youth developments Tuesday night 5-0 up at halftime and cruising If ever there was a time to give young Turnbull 45 minutes with no pressure that was it.
-
The only midfielder with any footballing ability is Bigi and he does not seem to figure in Robinson’s plans
-
Whatever happened to the did we made for Simon Murray at Hibs Is he the forward thar was being talked about ??
-
Heard his wife was finding it hard to settle and wanted to return home
-
If you look on the official site under players it shows all the new guys and their squad numbers but it also has No77 McDonald Wishful thinking or what ???

Aye but neither of the 2 centre backs had to come out of the middle to cover for him Know Laing can be a bit irrational but he always has to think that he has to cover for Law As much as Kennedy had a great game on Saturday would like to see him at right back Laing at centre back along with McManus and Grimshaw in the middle with Lasley -

All the midfield combinations we have tried over last 18 months have failed to produce the goods. We just cannot seem to get the right formation One thing that has been constant over that period is Keith Lasley maybe time for a sit on the bench ?? -
Same old same old Same shape...... Same mistakes.......Same tactics (or lack of them) When are we going to learn that we cannot play 2 wingers and leave us a man short in midfield Yes our defenders and goalie kept pumping the ball long ...... But someone has to show for the ball .... Sorry but our 2 midfielders are just not good enough It is not rocket science but everyone can seè what is happening EXCEPT OUR COACHING STAFF The only time we strung 3 passes together on the deck we score a goal
-
Benefit of doubt goes to the attacker ???
-
True Chalmers played against United but was substituted after 66 minutes when we went to a midfield 2 and 2 wingers. We the proceeded to loose a game that we were in total control when we had 3 in the middle. As for Lasley getting pass marks yes I agree but Taylor is no worse or better than Lasley when we play 2 in the middle. It is no coincidence that we have lost vital goals ( that have cost us points) in the last 1/3 of every game with only 2 midfielders being out numbered for 60 minutes As I said previously Lasley is now only good for 60-65 minutes and it in the last 1/3 of the game when our midfielders stop closing down opponents and stop matching runners that defence comes under pressure and we seem to concede soft goals
