  1. Maybe not so much of an issue on this forum but we know that the hacks scan all the public forums like P&B where fan speculation can turn into their version of fact very quickly. I'm sure P&B is where they get the majority of their scoops.
  2. I'll just leave this in here. Ones a red card the other doesn't even get a finger wagging. https://x.com/BlairKaylor/status/1870221854289322495?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1870221854289322495|twgr^5d501dbabbaa819f5477f6eae3dd24b9e43f2e64|twcon^s1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.pieandbovril.com%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcoremodule%3Dsystemcontroller%3Dembedurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fx.com%2FBlairKaylor%2Fstatus%2F1870221854289322495
  3. And therein lies the crux of the problem. A new toy is only good if you know how to work it properly and a lot of our referees obviously don't. If English referees used the same criteria for fouls that they seem to use up here the EPL would be seeing 2/3 ordering offs per game and a penalty awarded at every corner. I do agree that's just differing refereeing standards and not a fault of VAR but its concerning at the amount of the same types of wrong VAR calls that are being highlighted at review. It's all fine Collum issuing apologies but something needs done about the standard of referees and the VAR team when they're continually getting things wrong. As you say it's not as big an issue down south where there's vast resources to throw at it but we are using the bargain basement version that's currently not fit for purpose imo.
  4. When VAR first came in I used to get annoyed if a decision went against us and loved to see the disappointment on the faces of the oposition when it went against them. A bit of excitement and drama like the novelty of a new toy Months later I'm just annoyed permanently with it and would gladly toss it in the bin and I'm sure 99% of fans feel the same. The novelty has well and truly worn off.
  5. I'm guessing the ref realised he had made an utter cock up of the red card after looking at the monitor and didn't have the balls to admit his mistake.so took the easy way out by farting about for 60 seconds to make it look as if he was correct. He should be refereeing in the Amateurs.
  6. I've said from the very beginning that to be offside there should be CLEAR daylight between the attacker and defender. This big toe crap is just plain stupid.
  7. I'm more worried about the increasing number of wrong calls being made by VAR. I appreciate its a difficult task when decisions have to be made there and then but things don't seem to be getting any better. Every system has its teething problems but the Refs don't seem to be learning anything from the same kind of mistakes being highlighted time and time again by the review panel. All we're looking for is consistency.
  8. Someone mentioned that they were talking to him before the game and he said he was just about ready for action so I would presume we might see him early next year or possibly earlier.
  9. Looked like a Quality Street wrapper
  10. The quicker the better imo. It sucks the life out of the game but it'll never happen unfortunately.
  11. I think the time to judge him will be Feb/March time when all our injured players are hopefully back up to speed and available for selection and we see how any wheeling and dealing in the transfer market pans out.
  12. I see Tavares being played there as a last resort type of situation as I can't imagine him being preferred over any of our other options for RB if they were fully fit, available and up to speed. It's always hard putting a slant on something when you don't have all the facts.
  13. I did wonder so thanks for clearing that up and 100% support here๐Ÿ‘‹
  14. You left out Steelboy who seems to have disappeared like snaw aff a dyke.
  15. A game where the result was more important than the performance. Hopefully the team can take some confidence from the 2nd half and completely forget about the 1st. Watt was the difference.
  16. Win the ball then hump it as far up the park as you can. Maybe I'm being a bit unkind and not allowing for the wind but ffs this is chronic to watch.
  17. Think I've gone to Murrayfield by mistake.
  18. I'm assuming that it would either have been the SPFL as the tournament organisers or the SFA as the stadium landlords who employed the security company who provide the stewards so you could argue that they are as culpable as the clubs. Not sure what company was used but can't be that many in Scotland.
  19. H34 Each Club must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable. So what more can clubs do that is "reasonably practicable". The stewards instructed to carry out body cavity searches on every fan instead of the usual frisk and pat down? Are the security company providing the stewards not as culpable as the clubs? All clubs can reasonably be expected to do is appeal to fans not to do it and potentially ban any caught doing so. If we get fined and/or sanctioned in any way I hope the club tells us exactly what they are and the consequences for the club and hopefully that might get through to the perpetrators. Personally I don't have a problem with pyro but when it gets to this stage then I think the ones doing it need to take a wee step back and think about whether its worth it in light of the potential backlash and costs.
  20. The romance of the cup. FFS
  21. That's the team and formation I'd put out but don't think there's any way he'll drop Halliday unless he's had some kind of epiphany
  22. Yep. Young Lennon IMO has regressed since being made captain. I feel for him as he constantly looks up for a forward pass only to find that his only option is a sideways or backwards one. He must be frustrated as hell. Wee Davor is game and doesnt try to hide, I'll give him that but he really doesn't have the necessary physical attributes when he's up against bigger/stronger opponents.
  23. Sitting in club 100 before the game expecting another shitfest of a game and confirmed when I saw the starting line up. I was very tempted just to stay in the club and wished I had after 15mins. Totally bereft of ideas and leadership, bullied off and on the ball. Some players looked disinterested. All symptoms of a team staring relegation in the face not one sitting 5th in the League. How things can change so quickly.
