Night and day from the old regime and kudos to the WS board for all their efforts in promoting the society and club into the wider community with efforts like last night. The icing on the cake of course would be an announcement of some major inward investment that would give us the transformation that we all want.

For as long as I can remember there's always been one player who gets singled out by an element of our support for special treatment so SOD is just the latest in a long line. He's certainly not the player he once was but he's far from being done and I'm happy to see him in the squad as a senior figure.

On a cheerier note it was good to see quite a few German guys over watching us. Couldn't understand why they couldn't take their drinks into their seats and had to finish them there and then😁.

Robbo complaining about shouts from the stand. Ring any bells? Sounds like him and Ketts might have had a wee phone call to each other on the Friday night. I love a good conspiracy theory🤔

Needs a metal plate inserted.

Heard he had a shot blasted against his wrist at training.

Totally agree Kettlewell didn't manage it very well. It's going to take time for him to get fully fit after 2 longish injuries. Hopefully a good rest, take his missus back to see her family and turn up for pre season ready to go. If it turns out to be a continuation of this season then we look at it again.
-
Sure I read somewhere that his second injury was a torn calf muscle (though I could be wrong). Injuries conducive with being played while not being 100% ready?? In fact edit to add after a quick google. "The centre-forward tore a thigh muscle on his first start and, after hitting his fifth goal of the season against Rangers on December 29, he suffered a calf injury that has sidelined him since".
-
Me neither. The good thing is all his injuries seem to have been fairly minor one offs in the overall scheme of things. By that I mean non recurring, breaking down from the same injury time and time again or one that has plagued him in the past. He may not at times have displayed the physical or mental attributes needed for this league but I'm happy to see him get a good pre season under his belt and see his family hopefully settled. If it turns out to be a similar pattern next season then maybe we look at the situation again.

Looks like we wont be seeing Stama anytime soon then. Fractured wrist ffs.
-
He's always been a good player it's just that we weren't using him in his best position. He was berated for slowing things down by continually turning back on himself and killing any momentum we had going forward but it now looks like he was only following orders.

OR The psychological term for expecting the worst in everything is "catastrophizing"; it refers to the tendency to automatically assume the worst possible outcome in a situation, even when there's little evidence to support it.

Normal service is resumed.

Barry Ferguson is a Fud. Can't string 2 words together and lives on his past glories. Will never be a good manager in a million years. Plus my mate gave him a doing in Hamilton one night when he insulted his wife.

We're like a Rottweiler that's been let off it's leash.

Is it not something to do with sponsors??. Sure I read that somewhere here or P&B.

All things that can be sorted on the training ground.

When you've been schooled to play a certain way for as long as this squad has been, it takes time to adjust to a different style and tbh I was expecting that to take a lot longer than it has. Early days but night and day from a few weeks ago and it can only improve as they get more sessions under their belts. A joy to see guys playing with a smile on their faces for a change. Makes you wonder if Kettlewell was as popular in the dressing room as he was being made out to be.

The Ross County fans did warn us about his eye for a player.

Beginning to think there's something going on here behind the scenes. Hope I'm just being paranoid.

I'm like you and suspect you're talking about all the naysayers on X and FB who really don't have a clue about inward investment and have an axe to grind with the WS. An update would be good as I think from memory they said something would be announced last year and with nothing concrete yet forthcoming it just gives these trolls more ammunition and theyre probably the same ones who were dishing out the abuse to Kettlewell ( deserved or not). I've every confidence that our finances are under control.
-
I know you're talking in general so no offence taken. There's a difference between investment and soft loans. A company or entrepreneur if theyre making enough money will always look to invest somewhere that raises their profile and fits into their ethos as it is effectively written of against tax. I look forward to finding out the progress on this front from the WS in time, I've every confidence that they're on the ball with that. Totally agree that Kettlewell made a total arse of his signings and to end up with the size of squad we have is testament to negligence and I again look forward to seeing what our wage bill is for this season.
-
Unless we pull a rabbit out the hat in the last 20mins we go into Wednesday night needing a win. Lose that and I fully expect us to finish in the play off spot. If we somehow avoid that, major squad rebuild in the summer required and I just hope the WS have all this inward investment lined up to attract a better quality player otherwise its rinse and repeat next season.

I still have fond memories of the old "Club Call" where that was the only way you could find out what was happening at the club. Till my old man got the phone bill in😬

Notice that not one of the hacks has had the balls to ask him exactky what was allegedly shouted that upset his family so much. Anyway he's history and we move on
