I think it's more of a problem with the quality of the league as a whole rather than Motherwell as a team. Its becoming a bore fest punctuated by the odd moment of brilliance and made worse by VAR. If you read some of the other teams forums their fans are all saying exactly the same things we are and it'll probably be exactly the same next season and the season after that and the season................ Hopefully Wimmer can bring in some magic fairy dust in the close season.

When I saw the post I honestly couldn't initially remember who Calum Ward was which kinda sums up a mental season on the signings front. Pleased about Halliday though.

I've wondered about this as well. I remember reading something ages ago that the insurance policy to cover this eventuality was administered by the SPL/SPFL and covered every club for a set premium each year. Not sure if that's still the case (probably not) as I would imagine if one club makes multiple claims the other clubs with less claims could in theory end up picking up the tab. If its the case that each club have their own individual policy then our premiums will be astronomical at the next renewal date. Or such a thing might not even exist. Maybe a question for the Well Society?

I predict MJC will predict 2 0 Dundee and predict we wont win another game this season and predict that we end up in the play off spot.

Copied from St Johnstone fan over on P&B. Make of it what you will. I don't think theres much chance we'll keep any clean sheets now tbh. Technically only one fit CB now, whos a 19yo loanee right back. Only playable CB is trying to get used to playing with a mask due to a broken nose, then the only other defender is a left back who can't run, cant last more than an hour, and had an absolute horror show to the point we might play a right winger at left back against you.

All our young boys out on loan are a bit lightweight and in this league lightweights get eaten alive even if they're good technically and have a football brain. Unortunate but that's the way things are going in the SPL, brawn before brain.
-
We all know how St Johnstone will play. High intensity pressing game with nothing to lose as a draw doesn't help them. Up to us to match that intensity. Whether we can is a different matter. If we can't raise our game for this then somethings far wrong.

34 for the Midden and 19 for us.

Not getting at you personally mate so don't take it so hard. Like you say it's the usual suspects I was more having a dig at who can't help turning a perfectly reasonable question into another moan fest.

It's threads like this that give ammunition to the posters over on P&B who like to look in here occasionally then point and laugh at how wild SO is.

What we need is a couple of Kurt Panzers. The older ones who used to read the Sun will know who I'm talking about.

Not bad for a player some Accies fans said was the worst player they'd ever seen play for them.

Night and day from the old regime and kudos to the WS board for all their efforts in promoting the society and club into the wider community with efforts like last night. The icing on the cake of course would be an announcement of some major inward investment that would give us the transformation that we all want.

For as long as I can remember there's always been one player who gets singled out by an element of our support for special treatment so SOD is just the latest in a long line. He's certainly not the player he once was but he's far from being done and I'm happy to see him in the squad as a senior figure.

On a cheerier note it was good to see quite a few German guys over watching us. Couldn't understand why they couldn't take their drinks into their seats and had to finish them there and then😁.

Robbo complaining about shouts from the stand. Ring any bells? Sounds like him and Ketts might have had a wee phone call to each other on the Friday night. I love a good conspiracy theory🤔

Needs a metal plate inserted.

Heard he had a shot blasted against his wrist at training.

Totally agree Kettlewell didn't manage it very well. It's going to take time for him to get fully fit after 2 longish injuries. Hopefully a good rest, take his missus back to see her family and turn up for pre season ready to go. If it turns out to be a continuation of this season then we look at it again.
-
Sure I read somewhere that his second injury was a torn calf muscle (though I could be wrong). Injuries conducive with being played while not being 100% ready?? In fact edit to add after a quick google. "The centre-forward tore a thigh muscle on his first start and, after hitting his fifth goal of the season against Rangers on December 29, he suffered a calf injury that has sidelined him since".
-
Me neither. The good thing is all his injuries seem to have been fairly minor one offs in the overall scheme of things. By that I mean non recurring, breaking down from the same injury time and time again or one that has plagued him in the past. He may not at times have displayed the physical or mental attributes needed for this league but I'm happy to see him get a good pre season under his belt and see his family hopefully settled. If it turns out to be a similar pattern next season then maybe we look at the situation again.
-
Looks like we wont be seeing Stama anytime soon then. Fractured wrist ffs.
-
He's always been a good player it's just that we weren't using him in his best position. He was berated for slowing things down by continually turning back on himself and killing any momentum we had going forward but it now looks like he was only following orders.
-
OR The psychological term for expecting the worst in everything is "catastrophizing"; it refers to the tendency to automatically assume the worst possible outcome in a situation, even when there's little evidence to support it.
