  1. Gone from detesting it to liking it then hating it to loving it. It's that kind of strip, splits opinion right down the middle.
  2. Apparently Steelboy is good at admin.
  3. Sally (lovely lady) handles all the WS administrative duties and probably loads more tasks not on her job description.
  4. Guy that knows the League. Happy with that.
  5. That's the first time I've laughed at a post on here in ages. Aye running a business of any description is dead easy.
  6. I don't think we're apart at all. We just want what's best for a club we've supported all our lives and want to see them improve on and off the park, if that requires external investment then it has to be on our terms. In terms of a functioning Chairman of the Executive Board, yes it should be someone appointed by the majority shareholder or at the very least someone who shares the core values of the WS. Whether there is someone currently on the WS board that would be willing to take on what is essentially an unpaid role and all the hassle that comes with it I don't know.
  7. If you believe the Executive Board then yes they are. My own opinion is that we could probably plod on quite comfortably as we are but there will come a day when that outside investment is needed, when? Who knows. I don't think it's the responsibilty of the WS to physically scource outside funding but if they're going to reject EBs offer then they at least need to show a way forward and a plan on how to achieve it to counter that offer which is what everyone against EBs proposal is looking for them to provide. I assume all this will be detailed in their soon to be released document. I'm not for a minute expecting them to go knocking on doors but if the changes we want to see in the boardroom came about and the WS became the dominant force then seeking investment would surely be in their remit as Executive Directors.
  8. Thanks for your kind words. I believe the WS have nearly completed a 50+ page business plan to state their case so looking forward to that. Hopefully they can condense all the information into an easy read document. I think we need to know exactly how they intend to raise the funds required (do we even know how much is actually required to take us to this "next level" or are we just going to use EBs proposed investment figure as a bench mark and try to match that?). In an ideal world we would have 2 arms of the WS, one to salt away funds for a rainy day that it was originally intended for and to fund community projects and one to concentrate on attracting investment to help fund the day to day running costs and improvements to the infrastructure.
  9. Depends how much each WS member is prepared to put into the club. I don't know the breakdown of membership but we had 3300 members at the last count which has probably increased since then. How much does the WS bring in via DD's? How many are Junior members unlikely to contribute monthly? How many have made an initial payment but nothing ongoing? That would give us an indication of what level of ongoing funds the WS could reasonably expect at current levels
  10. All I would add to that is if TRUE fan ownership is the holy grail then we had better be prepared to dig very deep into our pockets.
  11. Assuming they didnt sign off on it with one arm twisted behind their backs and a gun pointing at their heads. Also assuming they had a vote which hasnt really been confirmed (unless I missed something which is possible).
  12. Maybe this is the market we're operating in now. I f*****g hope not.
  13. Unless there was a condition that stated the WS MUST retain a minimum of 51% of the shareholding now and in the future regardless of any future jiggerypokery in regards to share issues then its bye bye to fan ownership. All the talk about accounting practices and valuation of the club is a side issue for me and clouds the main point.
  14. Amongst my circle of Well fans I found that initially most of them were slightly intrigued (and some won over)by the glamour of an American investor. When the actual figures came out every one of them completely changed their stance. I'm hoping that my circle of mixed age group some who are social media savvy and some who never use it is a representative of the wider fan base and see the current offer for what it is, a non starter.
  15. We've also got a new CEO on the executive board who I imagine will do what his new bosses tell him rather than what he thinks himself. I say that assuming he has voting rights.
  16. I'm sure that in a reply from our finance director to Vietnam on P&B he was told that the executive board would explain the valuation of the club in a statement early next week. Or maybe I just imagined it as my brain is becoming scrambled.
  17. Thanks for your insight. My take on it is there's a lot of talk about the valuation of the club and suggestions that the figure has been artificially lowballed by the executive board to make the proposed investment by EB look more realistic in comparative terms. Now I'm assuming that this figure has been verified by an outside scource (at the very least our own external auditors) so unless someone knows different I'm prepared to give them the benefit of doubt that the figure quoted is correct based on up to date accounts unless there's a lot of creative accounting going on. If that's the case then someone has a lot to answer for both from fans and EB himself. Regardless of the valuation of the club (if it had been valued at 7/8million would EB have been prepared to double his offer?). Is 300k a year better than zilch. Regardless of all the above the terms and conditions attached to the deal make it a no go for me.
  18. Now over 3800 as of last month. What would be interesting to know is a breakdown by type/age and how many actively contribute monthly or have made a one off payment but don't contribute monthly That would give us an idea of how many " active" members we have who tbh are going to be the ones targetted to dig into their pockets to support any WS initiative.
  19. The thing I'm finding it hard to get my head around are the motives of the executive board behind recommending acceptance of what on the surface looks like a shit deal. As far as I know they're all die hard Motherwell fans who surely want the best for the club they've supported all their lives so why would they accept something that could potentially affect the future of the club and cause division among the support. Is there something going on behind the scenes that we're not party to or have they just had enough of running the club and want out at any cost or something else?.
  20. I'd actually like to know what the rationale and mindset of the executive board was when they recommended acceptance of this offer. Do they know something we don't?. A blind man could see what the reaction of most sensible fans would be after the details were made public.
  21. It might be as simple as that but I'm sure EB's financial people won't just have accepted the figure without at least doing due diligence as to its accuracy. Presumably because he wants it paid off as quickly as possible so that it doesn't show up as an outstanding liability should he decide to jump ship in 6 years time
  22. I'd be more than interested in how he and his financial people came up with the 4m valuation of the clubs assets. If the ground (and presumably all its infrastructure fixtures and fittings machinery etc etc are not included in that figure) what makes up the 4m. Players? They can be classed both as assets or liabilities depending how you look at it. Cash in bank? Outstanding debtors? Then you have to offset any liabilities against that which are? Us mere fans will probably never know.
  23. I'm not on twitter for that exact reason. It's actually quite a reasonable debate on P&B with one or two exceptions.
  24. I'll give tbe guy kudos for going on P&B and fielding all the questions the way he has as he didn't have to do that but still more questions than answers for me. I await the WS counter proposal with bated breath.
  25. I'm hoping to wake up and find out that it's a typo error and there should be a 1 or 2 in front of the figure
