  1. I'm maybe wrong here and someone please correct me if I am but do you have to have made a minimum payment of £300 to the WS before you get a vote. The reason I ask is that a mate of mine who pays £5 a month and has paid that for 2 years so has only paid in £120 gets all the weekly emails but didn't get a vote. If that's the case it might mean a number of members might be in the same position and could be another factor in the relatively low voting figures.
  2. Watched him a few times this season and tbh I'd rather keep Bevis unless he's on daft money.

That's the figure I've got as well. To put it into perspective, if we could get every member to contribute £10 on average a month (and I know that figure includes junior steel members and people who don't contribute monthly and people who contribute substantially more) that would equate to £456000 pa. Could we achieve that sort of figure, probably not but not impossible either. Depends on how deep fans want to dig into their pockets during a cost of living crisis. Would that be enough to safeguard us in the medium to long term. Edit. Wellfan beat me to it.
  4. It would be interesting to hear from someone inside the club as to what they think is happening here. Are our training sessions too physical, not enough recovery time between games, pushing players carrying knocks too hard too soon or just plain bad luck. I'd like to think that we're sophisticated enough that we wouldn't risk players carrying knocks. I know that Kettlewell has had them in the day after games (particularly after a poor performance) so perhaps that's a factor. Maybe our guys are so competitive that they boot f**k out of each other in bounce games. Do we need to look at warm up routines, again that should be a given if we're a professional outfit. Maybe it's all down to bad luck or a combination of everything.

I wasn't meaning "proper"shares more a novelty type of thing that might appeal to the type of Ex Pat audience who would pay £5/£10 for a certificate they could put up in their man cave to impress their mates. As I said a Spanish team did something similar a few years ago and raised a fair bit of cash from all over the world. Even if we made a few grand from it.
  6. No they don't provide any funding to the football club but what I meant was that they do much the same Community based things that Kibble do for St Mirren. I know that many of the ball boys and catering kiosk staff at the Midden are all "Kibble kids" and their football academy is part funded by them in return for some of their kids accessing their facilities. How much that actually amounts to in £'s I've no idea but don't think it will be a fortune. Anyway probably not the correct thread for this so apologies to anyone looking in expecting posts about our manager.
  7. Already does with the links with the MFC Community Trust.
  8. You could argue that we already add a premium as its a category A match which means the prices are higher than a normal category B. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/tickets/fir-park-entry-prices/ Unfortunately it also applies to home tickets as well so it seems we cannot charge away fans more rhan home fans. Whether that's an SPFL rule or a gentleman's agreement between clubs I don't know.
  9. It'll be about attitude. Go into in with the same attitude as the first halves against Aberdeen and Celtic and we'll be fine. Go into it with the same attitude as Morton and we'll get zilch. We all know how Livi will set up. Hopefully no major injury worries or a hangover from Sunday.
  10. Away club is responsible for any damage caused by their fans. Rule H40 In the event that any damage shall be caused to the fabric of a Home Ground or Neutral Venue, including any fixtures and fittings and/or the pitch, by the supporters of the Visiting Club or, in the case of such a Neutral Venue, the supporters of either Club participating in the relevant match, on the occasion of an Official Match then the Visiting Club in the case of such damage to the fabric of the ground, of a Home Club or, as the case may be, the Club whose supporters causing or who have caused any such damage to a Neutral Venue, shall, if and only if directed by the Board and subject to the relevant Maximum Aggregate Amounts Payable set out in Rule H42, be obliged to compensate the Home Club, Neutral Venue owner or, where the Company has to any extent compensated or be obliged to compensate a Neutral Venue owner, the Company, in the costs and/or expense and/or liability reasonably incurred or to be incurred by the Home Club, Neutral Venue owner and/or Company in repairing and making good such damage.
  11. Kibble haven't put any money into St Mirren other than the 400k that bought their 27% shareholding. How they've used that I don't know. They provide training opportunities for young people, help to fund their youth programme and community initiatives much like our Community Trust. They've also got 1.6m of loans due in the next year and a covid loan of 1m that they haven't started paying yet (according to their own fans) They are in as much danger as us and pinning all their hopes on player sales (mainly Bacchus)getting them out of the shit. Anyway who gives a toss about St Mirren.
  12. They're actually pretty similar In July 2021, St Mirren completed their five-year journey to become a fan-owned club. The St Mirren Independent Supporters Association (SMiSA) bought out the remaining shareholding of chairman Gordon Scott to become majority (51%) owners of the Buddies.
  13. Kibble own 27% of their shares.
  14. St Mirren are doing well on the park not so well off it. Soft loans due to be repaid in the next 12 months and one of only 2 clubs who haven't yet made a single repayment on their covid loan.

Something I've always wanted to know but never really took the trouble to find out is how much flows into the WS coffers on a monthly basis from DDs. It would give us some idea of where we are and where we need to be.
  16. I've posted over on P&B that I've never once been asked to increase my monthly contribution. Replies indicate that seems to have been a conscious decision by the WS not to keep going back to the same people with the begging bowl which is fair enough when it was a vehicle to raise funds for a rainy day. Things have changed now and there will have to be a concerted effort by everyone concerned to plug any funding gap if fan ownership is to have any kind of medium/long term success. I for one wouldn't take much persuading to increase my monthly contribution and take part in any fundraising schemes and I'm sure I wouldn't be alone.
  17. One thing is for sure, if we want to continue with the fan owned model then we as fans had better be prepared to dig very deep into our pockets and put our money where our mouths are. I dont know what the monthly WS contributions amount to but if the deficit of circa 750k being talked about in a bad year is accurate then that's a lot of money to find especially if our cash reserves are diminished and we have no sellable assets. Even in a "good" year there's the possiblity that we still operate with a deficit especially if we want to improve our squad to avoid floundering about the arse end of the table.
  18. I think I've read somewhere that the club can give that assurance to the SPL in October(maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong)but beyond that who knows as there's too many variables at play. Will we have any sellable assets in the squad? Miller possibly. Again I read somewhere Nick Dawes said that like every other commodity securing players on a contract is going to cost more, so I'm assuming he means that a player you could get for £1000pw last summer then the same player would cost 12/13/1500 this summer and that trend will continue no doubt so our budgets could be even more stretched. Edit to add I should have said n my previous post that some fans are under the impression that we're in imminent danger of administration when we're clearly not.
  19. Oh I would never expect them to divulge any confidential information or anything that could jeopardise any discussions. I just mean basic stuff like a brief update to tell fans why we need investment and that we're in no danger of going bust because there a lot of people out there who don't know the basics of the situation and don't have the information that Jay and Co have posted on here.
  20. It'll cause a bit of discussion for a few days, some will go meh, some will lose their shit over it then everyone will forget about it and move on to the next "shambles"
  21. Having looked through the various social media platforms it's a bit concerning at the lack of knowledge and understanding about what is actually going on is out there. On here and P&B the discussion is measured and informative, however elsewhere some of the things being banded about are absolutely wild and that is from some self confessed WS members. Someone was even suggesting that we are in danger of going into administration if we don't accept one of the offers. It's getting a little heated between fans so I think the quicker the WS get something out in the form of a factsheet or a QandA format the better to dispel some of the more outlandish stories being banded about.

Could the club do some kind of non voting share issue where you can buy as many shares as your budget allows. I seem to remember some lower league Spanish team did something similar a few years ago and it went worldwide and raised something like half a million euros. There must have been loads of collectors/football nerds who seemed to be quite happy to shell out 20 quid or so for the privilege of having a framed share certificate on the wall of their man cave. No idea if it would be feasible or break any SFA rules or am I just talking pish. I'd buy some.
  23. Former Motherwell, Hibs and Arsenal forward Peter Marinello turns 74 today. Born in Edinburgh, he also played for Portsmouth, Canberra City, Fulham, Phoenix Inferno, Hearts and Partick Thistle. After joining Arsenal for a club record £100,000 from Hibs in January 1970, a club director said: "We've just signed the nearest thing football has to The Beatles."
  24. You do know that EVERY loan deal normally has a recall option by the parent club?
