Aberdeen showed us the kind of tactics you need to stand any chance against them but do we have the players to do it.
-
Under normal circumstances a draw would be a good result against the Midden but that feels like 2 points dropped.
-
I'd guess the Board is probably in the same position as the fans, ie a third would punt him tomorrow, a third would give him the benefit of doubt and see how things pan out and the remaining third just don't know what to do.

The shout of the season for me last year by a guy close by was "Van Veen, all you can do is score goals" after he didn't run 30 yards to close down a defender. Kinda sums up some of our support though.

Great idea, then he can reply to his own posts.

For me the real rot started after the Livi game and we qualified for Europe. That was the time for the board to grasp the nettle and offload Alexander as IMO by then he had lost the fans backing with his brand of football but the board in their infinite wisdom couldn't look beyond short term success and look at the long game. That would have given us the carrot of European football to dangle in front of any potential new manager and a summer to recruit new players which might have appealed to a better quality of applicant. Instead they opted for the cheapest, easy, and (in their eyes) safe option and Sligo was the result of that. To be fair though there may have been financial implications at the time that we don't know about but when you look at the money we must have splashed out since on severance pay and the January player sale then would we have been any worse off financially and possibly in a better position than we currently are.

I'm actually going to issue a bit of a rallying call here. Having been one of the unfortunate few who suffered an 8 hour round trip to Dingwall to suffer another 90mins of absolute dross I had made my mind up to give Saturday a miss to save what's left of my sanity. I said elsewhere that I hope Kettlewell gives them the morning off and gets them in this afternoon, locks them in the dressing room and no-one gets out until the current problems are thrashed out. Might not be pretty but I think it's reached that stage now. Having slept on it I now realise that would be the easy coward's way out and I will be there. My worry is that with all the negativity on the forums there is a toxic atmosphere even before the game starts so I think it's important that the fans show their support right from the start and get right behind the team. I support Motherwell as a club first and foremost and the 11 on the park are only the present holders of the jersey.Happy clapper stuff maybe. HOWEVER if they can't get up for this game then I think we're well and truly fucked and I would be one of the first outside the stand shouting sack the board/manager or whatever, but hopefully it doesn't get to that point and we're all talking about a performance and win on Saturday night. Whether or not we stay up or get relegated this season I think a major rethink of how the club operates is needed as we surely can't keep going on the way we are and that includes reviewing every function in the club, listening to every stakeholder and fans views in an open and transparent way and coming up with an affordable and workable medium to long term strategy.

That's what I think as well

Maybe puting 2 +2 =3 here but that's odd. Usually up within 5 mins

No post match stuff up yet by the media team or am I missing something?

This has got Raith Rovers again written all over it.

Every time the undersoil heating is used it kills the grass roots so if it can be avoided by using covers it is. (As told to me by the head groundsman on Saturday)

Just watched the Man City Spurs game and an identical tackle to Patons by a Spurs player got him a yellow. Not even a hint of VAR.
-
When you've got a defence that is continually ball watching instead of the players they're supposed to be marking and a midfield that's not picking up runners into the box then you're always going to concede goals. Up to Kettlewell to sort it out on the training field.
-
The ironic thing is neither penalty would probably have been given down south in the EPL where cage fighting rules seem to apply in the penalty box and referees seem to apply a different interpretation of the same rule on a regular basis. But yeah get VAR to fuck.

You really are a ray of sunshine on a dark dismal day. Thanks.
-
It means we've got one more point than we had before the game.

An old guy I knew who used to be President of a local Junior team always used to say the first thing he did after appointing a new manager was to start looking for another one. Maybe he knew something we don't.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the cost of turning the Bois section into safe standing was going to be in the tens of thousands so maybe not a priority at this moment in time.
-
As much as I was pissed off at half time with our schoolboy defending I was even more pissed off at Shaw missing the one on one with the keeper. Any other striker in the league would have buried it. Still I would have bitten your hand off for a point at half time.
-
With KVV as his strike partner.
-
Murray ran into the channel a clear half a yard off in the build up. The linesman for most of the game was a yard behind play and getting absolute pelters from the wheelchair section.
-
A combination of a pitch that we've never really been comfortable on for as long as I can remember, a midfield that looked jaded and a lone striker? with no support that meant the ball inevitably ended up at a Livi players feet and put us back under immediate pressure. I thought if any of the 2 teams were going to score it would have been from a set piece such was the poor build up from both. Interesting that the Livi wide man started targeting Spencer on the outside forcing him onto his left foot. Millers ordering off certainly swung the game Livi's way. Bad day at the office.

Wonder when St Brendan will ask for "clarification" on the disallowed goal. GIRUT

Too quick on his feet for them.
