I seem to recall Robinson saying that he didn't just look at stats and looked into a potential players background as well and whether he would fit into his vision before deciding whether to sign him.

Just watching some videos of Aberdeen fans after todays game hurling some amount of abuse at Thelin who to his credit came over and applauded them. Same circumstances as us different outcome. Wonder what the media darlings will have to say about that?.

Bang on. We bring in guys nearing the end of their careers with the problems that brings with wear and tear and injuries. Guys from overseas with no experience of the Scottish game and who you havent seen in the flesh who take at least 6 months or longer to acclimatise to their new surroundings. Random loan signings who sometimes work out and sometimes not. I'd like to see us taking a more targeted approach instead of the scattergun one we have now. In saying all that we're probably not alone and maybe its just testament to the lack of quality available on our budget.

Certainly doesn't appear to have gone down too well amongst the vast majority of fans from what I've been reading online tonight.

A few things to take from that for me. A wee subliminal message to the fans responsible for the alleged abuse- Look what you've caused so take a step back, reflect on your actions and think about your behaviour in the future or else we find ourselves in the same position with any new new manager if things arent going well. In saying that it must have been record levels of abuse for his family to have made him feel the way he does. I've been at every game home and away and can honestly say I haven't heard anything other than the usual moans I've heard for the last 40 odd years. Not saying it didn't happen though. If things were that bad ar Fir Park then there's boxes in the Cooper Stand they could have been given so that they didn't need to listen to the crowd. Caldwell seemed genuinely not to have a clue about what was going on. Likewise away from home they could have been given tickets in the hospitality area or directors box away from the Motherwell fans. But at the end of the day and not looking to justify anything, if we hadn't been served up absolute dross in the last few games then the boo boys wouldn't have had as much to boo about although some of our fans make me wonder why they actually go to games as they'll go apeshit even if we're winning and playing well, Im sure everyone on here will know someone in that category. They must be fun company at home. Not sure whether that interview will put a lid on things or fan the MSM flames even more tbh.

I dont think we would have the size of budget to interest Lennon, Scott Brown maybe but would we pay compensation for him and would he leave a club that might possibly get promotion this year. The Old Firm connection doesn't bother me as there's nearly always some connection to them tentatively or directly for most Scottish born candidates.

Last post on this. I'm fuming that Kettlewell didn't have the balls to go with some dignity although I can understand why he did what he did. I'm absolutely fuming that a few arseholes who think they can shout whatever they like have put us in this position. I'm also fuming at the club and the Well Society for putting out statements that effectively tar us all with the same brush as the arseholes above and given the press a field day. I'm actually beginning to question the whole set up of the club as we look like Amateur night at the Palladium. Seriously considering just walking away after 60 years.

All they needed to say was although we recognise the right of our fanbase to criticise and voice their concerns, we also recognise that a small vocal minority may have taken their criticism a bit too far and we would urge them to consider their actions going forward so that it does not reflect on the wider fan base and cause negative publicity for the club. Or words to that effect

Frail probably has 3/4 games to show what he can do. Thats assuming he would be interested in throwing his hat into the ring. Will be interesting to see if he has a different mindset in terms of tactics and formation to Kettlewell and gets a reaction from the players. Long term who knows but don't think it will be any of the ones mentioned.
