  1. A wind up surely. Seriously, what kind of thought process makes someone take a play on the name Bair and turn it in into some kind of sectarian bigot fest. Next you'll be saying we shouldn't be signing anyone called Tim or Billy🤔
  2. This is it. I could understand if we had just avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth and struggled badly through our Viaplay group and failed to qualify, so to generate the level of abuse online I've seen in the last few days towards the manager board and certain players truly astounds me. Debate, disagreement questioning decisions is fine but some of the stuff is way out of order. Is it just a Motherwell thing?
  3. 😁 And they're doing it even more after he's signed.
  4. There's a big difference between sharing some doubts and hurling insults at a player so you're not a troll unlike the usual suspects.
  5. Agree about Mugabi. He's the type of player who really needs a run of games to bed himself in. Starting one week then on the bench the next or coming on for a 15 minute cameo doesn't help him. Yes, hes maybe always got a mistake in him but then what player doesn't.
  6. Highlights from yesterday. https://t.co/AkCvZP2quU
  7. Meh The only thing that excites ne about this cup is the chance to see grounds and play teams we haven't met for years or haven't played yet as you're inevitably going to get pumped by one of the arse cheeks at some point. This draw just leaves me thinking that's 5 times I would have to watch them and I don't think I'll bother this time.
  8. I think this season will be a kinda transitional season in some respects where Kettlewell will have to be given some leeway to correct the mistakes of previous regimes and I hope the fans remember that. Living within our means is important but I do hope the board see that loosening the purse strings just now to bring in a couple more quality players might just save us money in the long run and avoid the clusterfuck that was the January window. His mantra of running with a squad of 22 is sensible with 2 players in each recognised position and some flexibility with players who can fill different roles. 18 players who could be considered "starters" with 4 of our best youth prospects making up the balance. Think we're on the right track and when you compare us to where we are against this time just after the Sligo debacle last season then its night and day.
  9. Just looked in to see who the usual subjects thought were pish today. My bet was either Wilkinson or Mugabi.
  10. There's another rumour going the rounds over on P&B
  11. Folk getting their knickers wet over what is nothing more than an online rumour. SO at its absolute best.
  12. Think you've already made your judgement.
  13. No surprises there but I'm sure everyone would be Interested in knowing why you think that.
  14. Wilkinson has never played in Scotland so will need time and games to get used to the different pace of the game up here as has nearly every player we've signed from the English lower leagues. Same applies to Souare. Time to judge them will be in 6 weeks or so.
  15. He has always said from the start of the season that he would need to move people out before bringing more in so that's exactly what he's doing.
  16. Forget to switch your username again Steelboy/Yodo
  17. Don't know about anyone else but it's been so long since McGinley has played I can't even remember if he's good bad or indifferent. Pretty sure he's only ever played as a full back with us so we don't really know how he would fare as a wingback in a 3 5 2 Might be pish or he might surprise us but writing him off before we've had a chance to find out seems a bit daft.
  18. What really pissed me off yesterday was the brain dead morons who thought it would be a good idea to boo McGinley when he came on. This is the kind of thing that makes me seriously think about whether I want to keep on watching Motherwell after 50 odd years. Similar kind of things happening all too often.
  19. Personally I'd go for his younger brother Monday.
  20. The referree had a 15 minute spell towards the end of the game when he seemed to give every decision to Queens which was a bit bizarre because up to that point I thought he was having a good game then just seemed to lose the plot a bit. Massive cheer when he finally gave us a free kick.
  21. Agree with that. There were times when their midfield were winning 50/50 balls way too easy which put us under unnecessary pressure. Going forward the midfield looks fine but defensively it does look a bit on the light side at times. Compared to this time last season it's still night and day in terms of shape and fitness.
  22. Another game for Kettlewell to assess the fringe players. Souare looks like he could be a player. Took up good forward positions. Obika Held the ball up well and looks very strong. Slattery looking more like his old self and looks a lot fitter. Spittal right on his game. Bevis, not a better centre half in the league in the air, ball at his feet is another story. Lamie what can I say that hasn't already been said. In saying that playing on a park that resembled a sponge with strange bounces everywhere probably didn't help. Need more firepower up front as Wilkinson doesn't look to be an out and out striker. Kettlewell will know by now the areas he needs to improve on and the players he can rely on.
