  1. Only problem with playing the young lads is the difference in prize money between 7th and 10th. Roughly 52k per place so do we try and win every game or possibly sacrifice that kind of money to promote youth. In an ideal world we win all our games and play the young boys too.
  2. Well they did at Kircaldy however I'll quantify that by giving the benefit of the doubt that it was unintentional as I think it was aimed at the rows of empty seats at the front of the stand and their aim was off, but nevertheless whoever threw it came within a couple of inches of severely injuring one of our wheelchair users. Thankfully there have been no more flares that I'm aware of since then so hopefully lessons have been learned.
  3. At least you didn't mention "influnce". Grammar and spelling mistakes aside, anything that might add to the matchday experience(within reason) is OK with me.
  4. FB saying that the Bois are asking fans for their opinion on how to improve the matchday experience and involve others not based in the Hunter stand. A good initiative.
  5. The only rumour I've heard (and that's from couple of Rangers supporting mates) is that Scott Arfield has signed a PCA with us. Cannae see it myself but they seem to think it's a goer.
  6. There's a massive difference between coaching a team and managing one. You can be the best coach in the world on the training field but doesn't automatically mean you are any good at creating a happy dressing room full of motivated players producing the goods on the pitch. A harsh lesson for him and I hope he bounces back from it. Las is probably trying to engineer a gig for him at the Midden.
  7. Does that include at least 2 of our first team squad who support Rangers who probably go and watch them from time to time and heaven forbid might even wear a Rangers scarf at the game. Not to mention our 4 ROI players who probably support the other half of the Old Firm and do the same. Is that what you want us to become or as David says just at the wind up?
  8. Maybe St Johnstone were the problem and not him.
  9. Substitute Taylor with Lacovitti and play the same long ball punts up the park tactics and we're going to get the same result. Maybe forced into that because of the state of the pitch and unpredictable bounce but no reason to adopt those tactics on a decent pitch. We saw against Hearts that balls played up to Obikas feet and chest plays to his strengths and I'm sure we'll see more of that. Slattery for Cornelius ??
  10. They're probably that used to playing a certain way on their own park that they can't adapt to a different type of game away from home on a decent surface but yeah it seems strange even on the balance of probability. Either that or they're just shit.
  11. 91% of their total points total this year have been won at home according to a poster on P&B. When you look at that stat a draw isn't too shabby.
  12. This is Like watching an episode of Dancing on Ice. How many of our players is that who have slipped trying to turn with no-one near them.
  13. Every time the ball bounces you don't have a clue where the ball is going to end up. Pitch is beating us not Killie
  14. He didn't realise that dealing with seasoned pros who had been round the block a few times was completely different from dealing with young Impressionable players eager to please. A steep learning curve that he didnt quite get to the end of and is only learned through experience. It's OK citing "club legend" to young apprentices, doesn't wash the same with older professionals.
  15. Spout, Handle, Lid of metal. That's a belter
  16. I could understand the reluctance over Kettlewell if we were 6 games into the season when there is plenty of time for a new manager to turn things around but we have 12 games left to save our season and we are on a bit of a roll. Keep it going for another 4/5 games and we could be relatively safe. Best result would be if Kettlewell took the job till the end of the season or at least until we were safe then all parties sit down and re-evaluate. Worst case scenario is Kettlewell says he wants a 2 year deal or nothing, the board agree and we don't win another game this season and end up relegated and looking at another manager search and potential pay off. I don't for a minute envisage the worst case scenario happening though. We then limp through to the end of the season escape relegation by the skin of our teeth and the discussion starts over whether we stick with Kettlewell or start afresh or we finish strongly and Kettlewell looks the real deal and we all live happily ever after for another season.
  17. Not being pedantic here but Clarkson is the Academy Director and Kettlewell is Head of Youth Development so Clarkson is technically Kettlewells boss at the moment so why would he want a demotion.
  18. Have you actually listened to the interview? Easily found on Youtube. All they talk about is his family and the pressures of having 3 daughters who are profoundly deaf and a wife who survived cancer and the amount of house moves he's made to follow his career. Absolutely no mention of politics at all so no clue as to his opinions on anything or his political allegiances. I suspect the original post was nothing to do with Holloway and more about a dig at the person doing the interviewing. Anyway way off tangent as it looks like Kettlewell has the gig and why politics should never mix with football.
  19. He's also greatly admired rightly or wrongly by a proportion of the population. If we ever come to the point when we disregard someone because of who they talk to or their perceived political allegiances then we're well and truly f****d. Don't want him but not because of that.
  20. Holloway would be ok if we were looking for someone to host sportsmans dinners if Tam Cowan was busy. He could entertain us with his funny stories from the dressing room and how he once had a square go with (insert famous English International). As a Manager No thanks.
  21. What's the worst that can happen.Give him the gig till the end of the season. We get enough new manager bounce to get us out of the shit then things go tits up by which time we're safe and we look for a new manager at the end of the season. Alternatively he proves that he's not just a flash in the pan and results and performances continue to go the way they are till the end if the season and we give him a 2 year deal.
  22. McMahon summoning Kettelewell down the tunnel ?!!
