Sure I read somewhere that Accies received some kind of payment for James McCarthy every time he was transferred.
-
The club is due approx 380k/400k as a development fee. We could potentially suggest a lower fee and a percentage of any future transfer as an example if the buying club agreed.
-
You could also look at it from the point of view that we're guaranteed 380k/400k as a development fee plus potential add ons if we do some kind of a deal with Sturm Graz. Would we have got much more than that as a transfer fee if he had done a Turnbull and signed a new contract. I'm not so sure we would have.

He came up to the game to see the match day set up and meet the Directors and was caught on camera talking to them. That apparently all adds up to people assuming he was offered the job whereas no-one really knows if he was offered it or not except the Directors.
-
A Saints fan over on P&B claiming that we offered him a deal but they topped it. Also claims that they were in for him in January and he opted for us then. Whether that's true or not who knows.
-
That's good news that another club won't benefit particularly if it was Scottish. Lovely big guy and I wish him well in his new job and hopefully he's still on the end of the phone should we need to ask advice about anything pitch related.
-
Yeah inevitable that a bigger club would come in and poach him at some point. Only saving grace is that with the new hybrid pitch we don't need another miracle worker like him to keep it playable. Still a big loss though. Edit to add his assistant Alan Carlin has been promoted so still in excellent hands.

Casey is apparently holding out to see if there's any offers from England and Goss is seemingly attracting interest from India according to the jungle drums.

Couldn't agree a fee with Beith apparently, gone are the days when you could pick a player up from the old Juniors for a set of strips and some training balls. The boy has some potential but I wouldnt be forking out any serious dosh for him. OTF alluded to the fact if we did sign him he would probably be put out on loan so was never going to be in the first team squad anytime soon.
-
See our 16 year olds got humped 4 0 by Airdrie today who by all accounts fielded near enough their strongest starting 11.
-
If you look at Caseys playing history, ROI snd USA 2nd tier he's not a player that would have stuck out as a "must do" signing. I just wonder if he looked better than his previous playing experience would have suggested because he had Callum Butcher beside him. Maybe Butcher can replicate that with Sam Campbell and Shane Blaney given time.

If I had the choice between Fletcher and a punt on somebody no-ones ever heard of from some English lower division team on the same kind of money then I'd probably opt for Fletcher. Of course Ketts has maybe got another proven striker already tied up for all we know.
-
I'd imagine so. Don't think there's any other trialists away with them.

Being revealed tomorrow at 5pm if rumours are true.

I think with a proper pre season to get his fitness levels up to par and some professional coaching he could well do. Maybe the SPL is a bit of a stretch at this stage of his career but could certainly hold down a spot in a Championship team imo.

Seen the boy play a few times last season and caught my eye every time. Good to see he's getting a chance at the big time.

We're all assuming that a random post on the Internet is accurate. Nobody knows what's been offered except the club.

Interesting post over on P&B about Groningen. Groningen, at this point in time, could be an excellent move for him or an absolute bin fire. They are rebuilding and he could play a big part in that but they are in a really dodgy place as a club too. For context, they are coming off the worst season in their history, relegated in 18th place in the eredivise (out of 18)and wining 4 games out of 34. Fan aggression has been an issue and 3 of their directors (2 board members & director of football) stepped down in murky circumstances last season linked to fraud. There are rumours they are in substantial debt as well. So lets hope any offer we accept for Kev is not installment based! More fun snippets: -Knocked out of Dutch cup by amateur side, while playing at home. -Boycotted local press after they published a story about a player's violent dog. -Approached 6 new coaches after sacking their manager, all of whom turned them down (assistant manager got the job and won 1 game out of 20) -Game against Ajax had to be called off due to fan pitch invasions (one fan attached a Groningen player) and pyro. 1

That is most certainly the case in this scenario. Part of the lending conditions was that the club had to provide evidence (receipts etc) that the funds were spent on items allowed within the agreement and failure to do so could result in a demand for the whole amount to be repaid in full and immediately which is the norm for any business loan. That is ringfencing in anyones language, even the Murrells.
-
The loan technically wasn't. Part of the lending criteria was that it had to be ringfenced and not to be used to cover transfer fees or players wages. There is a playing budget that covers transfer fees and wages but as with every budget it is subjective and reviewed as circumstances change throughout the season.
-
It was the interest free Covid recovery loan that paid for the pitch. The cost to relay the old pitch every year was close to 100k, the new one is closer to 30k so will pay for itself over 10 years or so.
-
No idea but I imagine criteria can perhaps change from season to season?

I'm led to believe that it is a requirement for our stadium safety certificate.

This all started over on P&B where someone took McGinns comment in his interview of there being "wolves at the door" for Van Veen literally.
