  1. The Fissil for about 8 years on and off but I now spread myself around the Albert Gow Wishae Bellshill Carluke when I dont go to away games.
  2. I used to be involved with a local Junior (now WOSL) team and the old president who had been there for decades and must have seen 20 odd managers come and go once told me that as soon as he appointed a manager the first thing he did was start looking for another one.
  3. I don't really see many posts "touting" Kettlewell". What I do see are posts saying that he has identified where our problems lie and he comes across very well in interviews and puts his points over honestly in language that ordinary punters understand without the usual trotted out clichés. That in itself is a welcome change from what we've had in the last few years.
  4. Is that the one? Jack Ross Ian Holloway Grant McCann
  5. Exactly. What pissed me off listening to BBC on the way home was the pundits harping on about how poor St Mirren had been, hardly a mention of us. They were as good as we let them be. Came for a battle and got one a bit harder than they probably expected
  6. That would be a good shout for me as well if that's the kind of profile we're looking for. He made some subtle changes on Saturday that we couldn't respond to so he can obviously read a game and change things when needed.
  7. Won't be looking for a job in this country till the new tax year starts in April. Because he's been a tax exile if he works in this country before then he would be liable for quite a hefty tax bill.
  8. The essence of being a good manager is being able to change things on the park when things aren't going your way in a game and I don't think Stevie had that attribute. How may times this season have we seen the opposition team make changes that have swung the game their way and we haven't reciprocated. To me the players have downed tools and you can only hope whoever is appointed can re-instill a bit of pride and passion and get us organised into a shape which the players are comfortable with and we stop leaking stupid avoidable goals.
  9. I suppose If you've been unemployed for 2 years you can't really be choosy about where you get a job. Right man? Don't know.
  10. Wonder if he's even met Flow or had a conversation with him. You don't hold down a job like that for as long by being a dimwit.
  11. Anyone think we might see a wee change of formation going forward with the new players available?
  12. As fans if we're worried about the future of the club then without a rich benefactor or a conveyor belt of talent we can sell on then it's surely up to us to do something about it. Times are hard but if we could increase the amount of monthly payments into the Well Society for example that would help or some kind of non preferential share issue. In saying that the club could also do more in the fundraising dept.
  13. tbf that could apply to most teams in the League not backed by a large suppport and/or a private benefactor.
  14. All 3 of the above have serious money men behind them. If you believe the rumours some of the Darvel guys are reputed to be on upwards of £250 a week, 5 years ago they were in the bottom league of the old Juniors and didn't pay their players. A wee peek into the WOSL forum in P&B is very enlightening.
  15. Having watched a lot of Lowland League football I would say that would easily be their current level but I think they would probably do OK in the 2nd division. Another Gretna in the making perhaps with the amount of cash thats being pumped into them by Mr Killie Pie.
  16. And their manager does a good piri piri chicken. Must be some hospitality buffet.
  17. tbh I'm not in the slightest bit surprised at the result, even put a speculative tenner on them last week at 45/1 I watch quite a bit of the WOSL when the 'Well arent playing and have seen Darvel 4 times this season. Packed full of players with senior experience and they're no mugs. It could quite easily have been us. Even better one of their coaches is a diehard 'Well fan.
  18. Capacity at Linlithgow 2264 so 500 to us maybe.
  19. Blaney for me. Did well against a 6'4" battering ram.
  20. Christ we've just won our first game in months, progressed in the Scottish and we're moaning about a strip. SO at its very best.
  21. Nearly 2000 sold so plenty don't share that view including me. Great wee place for an away day as long as the wind keeps calm. 12 pubs within 10mins of the ground so get there early. COYW
  22. It's the moisture in the rubber infill that freezes and Livi has so much of it that it ends up solid. Usually doesnt happen until about -7/8° or a really prolonged bout of cold weather right enough.
