  1. GA has had months to look at the players and assess their different qualities on and off the pitch. If he thinks O'Donnell is Captain material then that's fine with me as he's far more qualified to make that choice than any of us. Edit. STV beat me to it
  2. You could say the same about a number of players. He was solid towards the end of last season and I'm sure he'll get back to that level in time.
  3. We've had half a dozen cases of Covid with players having to isolate. Wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility that he was one of them and is a bit behind everyone else in terms of fitness.
  4. Mate who is a big Saints fan and goes to all their games (or at least he used to pre Covid) has watched Slattery progress through the ranks and cannae believe we've landed him. As with all the EPL teams he was up against guys who cost millions and slipped down the pecking order and his confidence went a bit because of that. He thought he would have ended up at a Championship team or a Div1 at worst so seems we've done not too shabbily landing him.
  5. Exactly They're all at different stages of physical fitness and match fitness. Some fans expecting them to hit the ground running and pump everything in front of them. Some even saying we're relegation material ffs. They forget this is a team essentially with a new forward line and it will take time for things to click although some promising signs today towards the end of the first half and the second half. With more quality signings still to come in I think we'll be fine.
  6. They will come and put 10 men behind the ball. Up to us to break them down.
  7. Play the game again in a month's time and we'll see who bosses who.
  8. Well it took us 70 mins to wake up but from then on we started to look s bit more comfortable. Wee team fired up against the big boys who would have thought. Wasn't surprised after watching them against QOS tbh. Craigans commentary doing my head in.
  9. We look a bit ring rusty that's for sure
  10. Barry Anderson @BarryAnderson_ He isn't someone Hearts are looking at right now. St Johnstone are keen on him. Also heard Motherwell and Dundee Utd are interested. RGT @Paphos_16 Replying to @Paphos_16 @BarryAnderson_ and @edinburghpaper Heard anything about James Scott? 11:29 AM ยท Jul 14, 2021
  11. I thought it was a new covid variant.
  12. Having flashbacks to the season Ayr Utd pumped us 4 0 in a pre season friendly and this place was to be avoided at all costs due to the doom.and gloom. We finished 2nd in the league. Results in pre season friendlies mean SFA. Chill oot guys.
  13. Only flaw in your argument there is we have close on 4k season ticket holders (or at least we did have in 2019/20) so no matter what the club does there will be winners and losers https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2019/08/08/season-ticket-sales-up-year-on-year/
  14. Not bad considering QPR are supposed to have only paid Livi 50k. Wonder if they had a sell on clause.
  15. At least we now have proper like for like options off the bench.
  16. Not for me. Nae good at penalties.
  17. You'll need that for your tracker implant to work properly.
  18. I would be very surprised if the government went against professional medical advice. Haven't done it so far or at least if they have it's never been publicised. Only thing I could see stopping a return to normality would be a new variant resistant to the current vaccines.
  19. 100% This is why I tend to avoid on here in the close season. Every year it's the same, the players we sign are shite/not good enough/never heard of them. If we went out and signed Messi some folk would still find something about him to moan about.

A genuinely nice guy who always had time to chat about his beloved Motherwell. A sore loss for everyone who knew him.
  21. If we can't start rumours about players might as well start one about the Manager
  22. The problem is there's no solid Premiership players left. They've all signed for St Mirren.
  23. The way I look at it is despite the baggage the guy is undoubtably a very good player and you can never have enough of them in your team. Don't think it'll happen though that's assuming there's any truth in the story.
  24. Enjoyable watch that and a good insight and has certainly given me a greater appreciation of things from a players point of view I think fans have underestimated the effect the lockdown has had on the players and their ability to raise their game with no fans.
  25. Can only imagine he was one of the players invited back for pre season and St Mirren have jumped in and offered him a contract.
