  1. Already prepared myself for him being out for 4 weeks😒. Don't know if that will be with an injury or hypothermia.

  3. Apparently been on the 1st team bench for most of the season with a couple of appearances as sub. Highly thought of it seems.
  4. It's a strange one. Posters on P&B are generally in agreement that he had a very effective game whereas on here its the complete opposite. I can't really remember him making any brilliant tackles or passes likewise can't remember him making any glaring mistakes, so my take on that is he was probably quietly effective without doing anything to make him a stand out.
  5. See this is the thing. I sit within earshot of him and Kettlewell has always been VERY vocal on the sidelines and imo he's not any more vocal now than he was last season. Is it just a coincidence that he's had these cards since he came out and openly criticised the Refs and VAR decisions? Don't get me wrong, he should learn to control himself on the touchline and not give the Refs the opportunity to flash the cards in the first place but I think he's become a bit of a target for them.
  6. Could be worse. We could be St Johnstone fans. Be careful what you wish for.
  7. Glad someone else appreciates the unglamorous stuff that Halliday does. He got us out of a few situations today with his positional sense. Like you I thought we looked pretty comfortable in central defence although I still don't think we defend particularly well in our wide areas. I also have the feeling that the refs now have a bit of an agenda against Ketts although admittedly he doesnt help himself at times. Walsh today had a little smirk to himself when he dished out the yellow card.
  8. What really annoys me is that when we do go out and have a go at teams we've been relatively successful, Dundee Utd and Rangers being the recent prime examples so we can do it when we have a mind to. Were obviously going to be more defensively minded away from home but we should still be able to put in better away performances than we have.
  9. Someone over on P&B saying the word on the street is 2 months out. Hopefully not🙏
  10. And that's it in a nutshell. The rules are supposed to be the same the world over but the way they are applied up here makes a mockery of the whole system. That goal would never have been disallowed in the EPL. I've said it before if a Scottish Referee and VAR team officiated at an EPL game we would see numerous ordering offs and a penalty at every corner. Theres just no physicality allowed up here at all. The amount of VAR calls we're getting now for innocuous incidents is plain ridiculous and spoiling the game.
  11. I never feel comfortable even being 2 up against the Old Firm because you know they have quality on the bench if they need to change things up. Was delighted when I saw Cerny and Igamane on the bench because they are Rangers 2 best players at the moment and Igamane single handedly got Rangers that point today. If only we could have held them out for the first 20 mins of the 2nd half I'm pretty sure we would have held onto the 3 points but when they scored so early I felt we panicked a bit and retreated into our shell. I don't think anyone would have been surprised when the equaliser went in. What impressed me was at that stage it would have been easy just to fold completely and let Rangers run over the top of us but credit to the boys they dug in and fought their way back into the game. 2 games in 4 days against the OF will no doubt take its toll physically and mentally which is something that shouldn't be overlooked.
  12. You might just have opened up a can of worms there.
  13. I don't get too hot and bothered about these Old Firm games although it might have been interesting if we hadn't given away the "non" penalty who knows? Only non surprise was the referee giving us the "f*ck you" for bad mouthing one of his pals. Thats how it works although he could have been a little more subtle about it.

  15. Maybe not so much of an issue on this forum but we know that the hacks scan all the public forums like P&B where fan speculation can turn into their version of fact very quickly. I'm sure P&B is where they get the majority of their scoops.
  16. I'll just leave this in here. Ones a red card the other doesn't even get a finger wagging. https://x.com/BlairKaylor/status/1870221854289322495?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1870221854289322495|twgr^5d501dbabbaa819f5477f6eae3dd24b9e43f2e64|twcon^s1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.pieandbovril.com%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcoremodule%3Dsystemcontroller%3Dembedurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fx.com%2FBlairKaylor%2Fstatus%2F1870221854289322495
  17. And therein lies the crux of the problem. A new toy is only good if you know how to work it properly and a lot of our referees obviously don't. If English referees used the same criteria for fouls that they seem to use up here the EPL would be seeing 2/3 ordering offs per game and a penalty awarded at every corner. I do agree that's just differing refereeing standards and not a fault of VAR but its concerning at the amount of the same types of wrong VAR calls that are being highlighted at review. It's all fine Collum issuing apologies but something needs done about the standard of referees and the VAR team when they're continually getting things wrong. As you say it's not as big an issue down south where there's vast resources to throw at it but we are using the bargain basement version that's currently not fit for purpose imo.
  18. When VAR first came in I used to get annoyed if a decision went against us and loved to see the disappointment on the faces of the oposition when it went against them. A bit of excitement and drama like the novelty of a new toy Months later I'm just annoyed permanently with it and would gladly toss it in the bin and I'm sure 99% of fans feel the same. The novelty has well and truly worn off.
  19. I'm guessing the ref realised he had made an utter cock up of the red card after looking at the monitor and didn't have the balls to admit his mistake.so took the easy way out by farting about for 60 seconds to make it look as if he was correct. He should be refereeing in the Amateurs.
  20. I've said from the very beginning that to be offside there should be CLEAR daylight between the attacker and defender. This big toe crap is just plain stupid.
  21. I'm more worried about the increasing number of wrong calls being made by VAR. I appreciate its a difficult task when decisions have to be made there and then but things don't seem to be getting any better. Every system has its teething problems but the Refs don't seem to be learning anything from the same kind of mistakes being highlighted time and time again by the review panel. All we're looking for is consistency.
  22. Someone mentioned that they were talking to him before the game and he said he was just about ready for action so I would presume we might see him early next year or possibly earlier.
