I've been asked to let everyone know that the Disabled Supporters Association are having a bucket collection on Friday night at the Celtic game. You've probably noticed all the improvements that have been made since the close season with shelters being built for both the home and away supporters. These have all but drained our funds and we are trying to raise more for the next round of improvements and are asking for your support. Any funds raised will be greatly appreciated and go towards improving facilities for disabled fans and hopefully improve the general look of Fir Park.

What I'm looking for is a PERFORMANCE not even bothering about the result, so that the players can prove to the fans (and more importantly to themselves) that Saturday was nothing more than a blip and that we're not on an even slippier slope than we think. If we see another lacklustre performance then I will be extremely worried.

Calf injury apparently and didn't want to risk him on the artificial pitch
-
Brilliant!! Why not march over to Douglas Park with all the flags an banners in full flow as well
-
Clyde FM were saying the crowd was 3714. Didn't look as much as that to me tbh.

I agree that it would reduce costs but not as much as you would think. Having previously been involved with a Junior club who was thinking about going down the 4g route, I had many quotes from installers and companies looking to maintain the pitch once installed. A straight forward installation (which Fir park is not because of the slope) would cost in the region of 400k so Fir park could quite easily be double that or even more. It's not just a case of once its laid you just give it a brush now and again. It has to go through a process of chemicals being applied to keep bacteria under control and prevent build up of mildew etc. They are only playable to about -7 then they freeze, only way to combat that is applying an expensive anti freeze solution. Heavy snow has to be cleared which is ok if you have the means to lift it and the transport to dump it somewhere safe, again quite expensive. Plus its pish to watch and play football on.
-
To sum up, we have one bad result and the players and management team are all pish.
-
And they are our more ahem "mature" fans as well who probably do piss their pants on a regular basisand should really know better as they will have seen us play a hell of a lot worse in their time.Heard one arsehole shouting "McCall you don't know what you're doing". Really? that's why we're sitting third in the league is it. One poor performance and they all crawl out the woodwork, christ knows what it would have been like if we had actually lost
-
I just wish we would play our natural game and let the opposition worry about us instead of tinkering about with formations that the players are not comfortable with. Twice we've done it this season and twice we've been rank rotten.

I give up Zsar (sorry Steelboy) 3 clean sheets in 13 and that's down to McManus? Faddy was always going to be a calculated risk (that might yet pay off) 2 career 1st division players that practically every other team in the SPFL would have given their eye teeth to sign (again based on their performances in the SPL last year)
-
Are you honestly saying that McManus isn't worth the money he's getting? Are you also saying that going on Faddy's performances last year you wouldn't have re-signed him for this season? Are you also saying that you wouldn't have snapped up probably two of the best midfielders in the country based on their performances for Ross County. Thankfully the Scotland under 21 manager doesn't share your views on Kerr either. We're all entitled to our opinion I suppose.

Get at their throats from the kick off score an early goal and watch their heads go down, game over before half time. Youthful exuberance can only carry them for so long.
-
Using the type of formation and tactics we did on Saturday work brilliantly unless the other team scores, then its bum oot the windae.

Echo all thats been said above. Totally in command in the first half and could have been 2 or 3 goals up. United upped their pace in the 2nd half which I expected but to lose 2 goals like that is just not on.Showed Ramsden's lack of pace up a bit and quite a lot of United's attacks were coming down that flank. Weathered the storm and came right back into the game and could consider ourselves unlucky not to win over the piece. A special thanks to the United catering staff for charging £2.50 for a soft drink poured from a 500ml bottle into a paper cup, possibly the most flat, warm revolting drink I've ever had at a game. To be fair though it was worth it when the wee blonde haired girl behind the counter asked me if I would hold my pies till she grabbed my coke.

Could be wrong but I'm sure I read somewhere that Dundee Utd have changed the security company they have been using so might not be as bad this time, alternatively it might be even worse?
-
That puts a different slant on it then. Didn't see who done it but the fine would be for an object entering the field of play and if it wasn't a Motherwell fan who did it then we surely can't be fined. In saying that, speaking to one of the polis who told me that they were summoned from Ibrox by the St Mirren security staff and were told that there was some sort of riot going on so came in mob handed
-
Agree with all of that and the person responsible for throwing the smoke bomb onto the park has in all probability just cost the club a £5k fine.
-
Similar type of game and performance as the first game of last season at Ross County only this time we come away with 3 points. That'll do for me. It will take time for this new team to gel so a bit of patience is called for and i have every confidence it will happen. Methinks there will be plenty more games like this through the season as teams set out more defensive formations, hope I'm wrong though.

Someone on P&B saying we've got some guy Bradley Pitchard from Charlton training with us. 5'7" Zimbabwean midfielder. Could he maybe be a right winger???
-
The ones in Larkhall are. Looks as fit as fuck then. Forgot just how tall he is, absolutely towers over the majority of the squad, no as tall as Nielsen right enough.
-
Still negotiating a deal and is continuing to train with the squad. Looks as fit as a butchers dog btw

McCall and Black
-
Nothing will happen on the transfer front until McCall comes back from his hols on Monday.
-
My take on the whole saga is that perhaps McCall s looking to move back down South. I don't know what his family circumstances are but I would imagine his kids are in their teens and maybe they are putting pressure on him to move back closer to friends and family? Yeah, he's maybe turned down Sheffield but I,m sure there will be plenty of jobs come up during the season in the North of England area and I think he will continue to be linked with every one that comes up so what we have gone through in the last few days may well be repeated countless times. I don't go with the theory that he's holding out for the Sevco job as I can't see Fat Sally being replaced anytime soon.

looks like we're either slashing the wage bill or freeing up money for all these new signings from the English Leagues
