  1. No surprise there then, what can you expect when the compliance officer has no football pedigree and his background is investigating war crimes. Only the SFA could make an appointment like that.
  2. What's a bit worrying for me is how does this new fast track system actually work in practice. Does the compliance officer sit down on Monday mornin and go through 90 mins of footage of every SPL game from the weekend looking for incidents that the referee missed. Maybe he listens to phone ins or trawls through forums looking for clues. If thats the case where does it all end, does he look at every tackle, every off the ball incident and decide that the Ref missed a yellow/red card incident and decide to start issuing them retrospectively? He currently has the power to issue bans and my worry would be that could be the next logical development in the process.
  3. Just back in and defrosting in front of the fire but worth it. Just over 400 'Wellfans made the trip according to the SJ head of security.Well played again lads for the vocal backing.
  4. Just goin by what I was told by my mate who is a Hibs fan and was in the South stand that there were still big queues at the kiosks when they were told they had to leave.
  5. I,m assuming he was talking about gate receipts but It would probably have been more than that as food sales would have been badly hit as well. Wonder what they did with all the pies?
  6. When you consider all the shit happening at other clubs in Scotland then I think we have reason to be cautiously optimistic at the direction the Club is going
  7. Yeah, definately remember that one
  8. Try again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUl5dlpxHBs
  9. Negative post No 45. Why not go for a record 50
  10. If you don't mind me asking, what were tou charged with?
  11. Here's what all the fuss was about Took this before I was asked to put my camera away because I hadn't asked for prior permission to take pictures inside the ground. Funnily enough I told the Steward to **** off and he did
  12. See, this is the danger of posting stuff when you weren't actually there (and if you are indeed a Motherwell fan which I have serious doubts about) No-one complained to the stewards or the police for a start Everyone who goes to away games know that these young guys stand up and support their team so sit in an area where they can watch the games (there is always plenty of room) Yes they were in high spirits and god forbid they might even have partaken in some of the devils brew but nobody was drunk or being aggressive or abusive. I saw as many arguments between Motherwell fans who were nowhere near what was happening and stewards/police about the way they were dealing with the situation. The Stewards were to blame for starting the trouble and it could all have been so easily avoided. Even Aberdeen fans on Pie and Bovril are saying this but I suspect that fact probably wont fit in with your own personal agenda
  13. Thought I would remind us of what the Stewards are SUPPOSED to do
  14. Yeah it would have been the sensible thing to do and sit down when asked but what I saw was a total over reaction by one Steward Number 088 to being asked why Motherwell fans had to sit down when Aberdeen fans were also standing. He manhandled a young lad half his size and I think thats what kicked it all off. I think if it had been my son I would have lamped him and talking to him after everything had calmed down he reinforced my view that he was "enjoying wielding his power". The cop standing next to us having watched what had just happened simply shook his head which to me says it all. I do think some of the 'Well fans maybe over reacted a bit themselves although it could be argued they were being severely provoked. At least there were no arrests and the guys were simply ejected (at least thats what the police told me) which was about the only good thing to come out of the whole sitaution. It does leave me with a question though about just what Stewards are and are not allowed to do as if the Steward I was talking about had done what he did to the young lad outside the ground then I think we would have been lifted for assault.
  15. It also highlights what happens every time we have an International break and don't have a game to talk about
  16. Gettin a smile out of pie stall staff would also go a long way to enhancing the match day experience. Never seen a more miserable bunch in my life (at least the one I go to)
  17. We could wheel out this one particularly when we play the OF
  18. Nooooooo Not Claret and Amber. Saturday wouldn't be the same without them.(not bein funny btw)
  19. Some footage of the display at the Celtic game. Doesn't show it here but its spreading into the 2nd section.Maybe by the end of the season the whole East stand will be gettin in on the act
  20. You're right, something serious WILL happen one day and I,m nearly at the stage where I,m thinking about just not going to old firm games because of all the hassle but then I think why the f**k should I ?. Don't really have a problem with them being in the home stand as they can be contained to a certain extent and I suppose you can put up with all the shouts and comments for the common good. It's when both sets of fans leave at the same time and from the same exits that the atmosphere can be quite intimidating. With all due respect to the majority of 'Well fans in the POD stand, they're not the type to want to react to provocation and that is probably why we,ve not really had any major incident yet but it could happen next time quite easily.
  21. I think the Club have to take some share of the blame here in that most people I was speaking to leaving early said it was to avoid having to walk down the road with all the Celtic fans coming out of the Phil O'Donnell stand. I have a great amount of sympathy with that as where I stand in the disabled section, we have to listen to all the bile being shouted over our heads from the Celtic fans above us, in fact one guy was so bad we had to ask the polis to go up and have a word with him.(hope the anti sectarian polis captured him on their crackin wee cameras) Today I witnessed a couple of situations that could have escalated into a serious incident with both sets of fans coming together in Fir Park St. I know the club makes about 25k in ticket sales alone opening up that section so maybe we just have to put up with it in the knowledge that we have their dosh in our pocket. I know that thats not the only reason fans leave early and it annoys the hell out of me to see the Celtic fans goading what was left of our support at the end of todays game but then again maybe its just a bit too much for some to have to listen to them celebrating the fact that they have "turned the corner" AGAIN
  22. Sittin next to my mate at the u19 game yesterday and discussin the Hibs game. He turns round and says it will be a tough one 'cos O'Connor will be on a high gettin off with his diving ban. Still doesn't know why everyone was laughin at him
  23. I,ve always taken the view that (in Scotland at least) a clubs success can generally be directly measured against their gates/income On that basis we are definately punching above our weight at the moment. There is also the added bonus that we are debt free.
  24. Still laughin at the irony of all the fans denied entry standin under the banner of "The Jim McLean Fair Play Stand"
