At the end of the day he's better than anything we currently have (at least on paper). I really couldn't give a shit about his past history it's what he does on the park now that counts. Hope it works out for both him and us.

Kettlewell is between a rock and a hard place. Does he sign young, fit as a butchers dog, injury free players or does he go with seasoned pros with experience of playing at SPL level and take a chance with fitness and injury issues Damned if he does damned if he doesn't. If he signed a load of young guys with no experience of the SPL and they turned out to be mince then he would be getting lambasted for not signing experienced pros and vice versa. The market and budget we"re operating in probably means thats our choice. It's a roll of the dice either way and nothing will change unless we get an Infusion of serious cash to let us compete with most of the other SPL clubs. Most seasons we win a watch with players but there will be one when we don't.

Disabled and SEN fans have to provide proof of disability so generally get their tickets well in advance of games. 99% of our disabled fans are season ticket holders anyway and it's very rare for someone to turn up on spec on the day (although it does happen on occasion) but the ticket office staff handle that situation very well.

Miller was singled out for some rough treatment and Blaney was subject to a bad tackle by White on Saturday so not surprised both are doubtful.

Apparently Balmer played so that's always something.

I've mentally set myself a limit of what I'm prepared to pay for away games. I rarely miss a game but think I'll be taking in a lot more games at my local WOSL clubs when we're away from home. I'm sure I won't be alone.

They were put up there because of the reputation of their wee Ultras who got a friendly abandoned the previous week.

St Mirren have done a few deals in the last couple of seasons. 24 quid for 2 adults and up to 20 under 12's from youth groups/teams. 200 season tickets given out (2 to every primary school in Renfrewshire). I believe that the Kibble Trust also give out free tickets to disadvantaged kids in the area. All these incentives will have added to their gates although having a good couple of seasons playing well and having European football will also have had a positive effect. Maybe we need to look at doing similar things (or possibly we already do?)

Having watched him on Tuesday night, Kaleta looks as if he's maybe not 100% match fit yet and still getting to grips with the pace of the game up here and looked quite tentative but was slowly growing into the game. Put 2 really good whipped in balls across the face of the goal that someone should really have got on the end of. Maybe needs a bit more time to settle in but given that, I think he'll come good eventually. Certainly got all the modern day attributes, big strong and fast so if he's a quick learner he should be fine. People forget he's a young guy living away from his family in a totally different environment from what he's used to and it will take time to adjust. Was never going to be a nailed on starter from day one.

Was at a WOSL game on Saturday and the 2 teams match secretaries were calling the new system a "dugs dinner" with loads of bugs. Going live across every league after Saturday according to them and expecting it to be a disaster especially in the lower leagues -

1956 for me. My mother said that the Fir Park floodlights were the first thing I saw when I popped out so I was always destined to follow the 'Well. -

Off at a complete tangent here but did anyone else notice that the noise generated by the Thistle fans seemed to be a lot louder up in the top tier. Verdict amongst us was that being closer to the roof made the noise reverberate onto the park more. Or maybe we were all so scunnered by that time we were looking for things to talk about other than the game. -
Again you can't say replacing him made the difference alone in those games, it could have been a multitude of factors. Davor is what he is, he breaks play up and gives the ball to others more adept at the passing game. Yeah he's a bit lightweight when he's up against bigger stronger players but he's by no means the worst player out there. Crawford looked good because he had another 9 players working their socks off alongside him whereas we thought we were still on the beach.

We've rarely led in games when the full team's been on the park so singling him out on that point is plain daft.

I was thinking more of the 4 riders of the apocalypse. -

Logan Dunnachie doing the business again. 3 2 Clyde -
I still don't know why McMahon Dickie and Feeley thought this deal would be good for the club but am prepared to cut them some slack as I think in their own minds they must have genuinely (but foolishly) thought it was the best way forward. The 3 of them are died in the wool 'Well fans so why would they want something that would harm the club they've supported all their lives, that's the thing I can't get my head around. Regardless of that I would like to think that they will now do the right thing and resign their positions and allow the new kids on the block to pick up the reigns and drive the club forward but be there for any help or advice they are asked for because at the end of the day they have been relatively successful at running the club regardless of recent events. What we don't want is some kind of power struggle.

Unless either us or Thistle had made a total cock up in the early games then it was always going to come down to who wins next Sunday.

Same old shit from the usual suspects. 😴 Boring.

Think it's one of these things that might look better in the flesh. (Hopefully🙂)
-
Think he's played a blinder considering he's been piggy in the middle between the 2 boards. Hopefully he can now get on with the job he signed up for.

Realise that giving actual amounts might not be possible but it would be good publicity to even be told how much it's gone up in percentage terms. All adds to the feelgood factor.

It would be interesting and a boost to the fans if the WS let us know how many new members they've attracted since the news broke and how much the DDs have increased. I know that the WhatsApp group I'm in with some mates (20 in total) who are all WS members are all increasing or already have increased their monthly amounts. I think we may be pleasantly surprised.

It's all very well getting minutes into legs but I think Kettlewell now needs to think about what his starting 11 for the league is going to be and start planning his team selection around that in the next 2 games.Hard when we're obviously carrying some injuries to potential starters I know. We were always going to have to get a result against Partick to win the group unless they have a 'mare against Clyde or Edinburgh City so a dropped point tonight hasn't really changed that. Like everyone else says play with 2 strikers please and stop all this sideways and backwards passing. Bad enough suffering it for 2 weeks at the Euros. Anyway a good day out at the seaside in spite of the result and performance. Thought there was more at the game than announced(a tad over 1000 I think but someone correct me if that's wrong).Good Motherwell support up for a Tuesday night. A mate text me to say he felt seasick watching the coverage as the camera was all over the place??.

Aye gie it a rest SB. Getting boring now.
