  1. Congrats on the poker win mate!

    That's a result and & a half -Well Done!!

  2. Yeah I know, wish it would happen right enough -TV coverage won't be doing us much favours with getting the bums on the seats. Each to their own though. The powers that be will have a pretty rigidly fixed budget for this one I expect and the cost of policing, stewarding, catering & cleaning would be more than the could stomach i'd expect. It's unfortunate for us that they won't even be an a position for that problem to arise.
  3. I picked up tickets today and the girl on the desk said without working it out we're comfortably around 4,500 tickets sold for the game. Our allocation is indeed 6000 like joe90 pointed out (thanks Joe) but we have the maximum availability for up to 12,000 if sales spike between now & then.
  4. I'll be up at the ticket office tomorrow to collect my tickets for the Claret & Amber convoy, I'll get us an update on the numbers then.
  5. Agreed Yabba, there's a fair few that are quite confident we've already got this in the bag. The boys have been playing well as a team under McCall's watch and the results have been fantastic! I'm doing my best not to get caught up in the hype. I am condfident McCall will have the feet of the lads, firmly on the ground, their heads focused and their spirits high for the game so I don't see any reason why we can't win. As pointed out before though, our luck falls short often enough when we are favourite's FTW and that has, and will continue, to play on my mind until Saturday. I'll be hoping & praying for a win!
  6. It's nothing significant Jam, there's a few reasons for it... ...and one might be related to the 8x table! Definetly, obviously with Wednesday being my first game I've no experience of the other stands but the atmosphere was bloody amazing so it's where I'll be staying for now. Haha! You're not kidding mate but at the time it was severely overshadowed by Craig Broon shafting us and me spending most of the day calling him every name under the sun!
  7. Alrighty mate, I'm just at the top end of North Motherwell so fairly local. I'd never pass up a bit of company, especially if you go to the games yourself aswell. It'd just be the home games though for me though -not got the money to be the away support aswell!

  8. I had thought about jumping into Jack Daniels beforehand for a jar as I was walking past it, decided to pass on the pint and queue for my ticket from Hampden instead though -probably one of my better decisions of the day tbh. It was a great first game -glad I got the time off work for it, I enjoyed every moment!
  9. Thanks for the input SuperCC, i'll note your invaluable contribution to this thread down on a post-it and keep it on my fridge! Thank you kindly, 816
  10. Not really that impressed with the layout either (like everyone else in this thread) but thought I'd let you know that section C4 was filled from XX down to row Y as of tonight. Might be useful for someone trying to time a wee ticket purchase to the right moment for a front row number. 816
  11. Well I'm standing in the second last section of The East Stand, really enjoying the game so far for obvious reasons and I've also learned a chant about Goodwullie 'going to jail!' Good times so far. Also managed to wangle some holidays for the 16th today at work whilst getting away an hour early tonight -so booked my semi final tickets tonight aswell. Pretty happy with my night so far. Thanks again to everyone for all the welcome comments I've received so far in this thread, it's appreciated.
  12. Cheers for that Brazilian, that really clears things up for me. I think I'll aim for the middle three sections of the East Stand. I don't mind getting moved on if I'm in someone's seat, even if it's a couple of times. As long as I'm in the thick of a busy section and I've got a bit of banter around me. Cheers mate!
  13. Cheers guys! Thanks mate and no I've not made any games as of yet but I want to make 1 or 2 before the season ends. Me and my cousin are going to get time off work for the game on the 16th but then I'll be going to most games myself which will be daunting at first. I'll hopefully get to know the folk standing/sitting around me at FP pretty quickly though so I've got folk to banter with through the games. Thats what I'm hoping for anyway! Wish I could Gaag but I don't finish til 8pm Wed-Fri and they had no holiday availability. Might see if I can take my lunch hour at the end of my shift though. NOOB QUESTION: When you pay at the gate for a game do you get allocated a seat or can you just sit wherever you want?? I don't want to be nicking somone's seat that been sitting in the same place for 20 years!
  14. Cheers lads Cheers mate, I'm looking forward to it! An interesting revelation from you mate but perhaps not the best place to share your hygiene issues. I'm not one to ignore a problem though so grab a quick shower, use soap, you'll come out relatively fresh... Continue that practice atleast once a day & you'll not smell shite much longer! Any further concerns then I'd seek advice from your GP. Cheers lads! Not quite, used to run a Scottish car forum & arrange the Scottish car shows for the members -grew out of it last year though and handed the reigns over the the younger generation. Scrapping that has freed up a lot of time for me. Used to race back in the day up at Crail 1/4 drag strip so in a manner of speaking I used to chase faster cars but definetly not boys. ----- Thanks again for all the welcome messages! Looking forward to getting involved with the board
  15. Cheers mate! Haha, my 5000 mates all happen to be Hibees or Tims I'm afraid mate so I doubt we'll be seeing many of them at Fir Park, least not regularly. I know where your coming from mate but I wasn't born and bred in Motherwell. If made the decision based on just living in the same town I wouldn't have the same passion or pride as you guys (and I never would do) since I based my decision on location alone. I wanted my decision to be more than that but either way, it's the same outcome. I do see where your coming from though. Hi mate!
  16. All of them tbh mate. I suppose the main contenders were Aberdeen, Hamilton, Hearts & Hibs -not in any particular order. It didn't matter which ground was closer, push come to shove, I could follow through TV/Radio and make the occasional game. Due to my shifts that might actually be the case for me anyway. Cheers lads!
  17. Alright lads, i'm obviously new to the forum and a new supporter of MFC so let me introduce myself. Apologies the Mods & Admin if I'm posting this in the wrong section. My name's Rob, I'm 24 and I'm from Motherwell. For aslong as I can remember my old boy has never followed football, I certainly wasn't brought up as a football fan, I had never been lifted over any turnstyles and at 24 I've decided that i've been missing out and it's time to get involved. Over the last 6 months I've started paying attention to the SPL with the intent on picking a club I want to support and follow. I can play football (badly) so the real learning curve was going to be learning who is who and remembering their names. Just to make it clear, from the word 'go' I wrote off both OF teams due to the amount of bigoted supporters on both sides that rant week in week out on my Facebook. I started with reading up club historys, followed league results and any commotions in the papers but also kept an eye on the fan opinion by browsing a few supporters forums. By December I still hadn't fully made any decisions about a team as of yet, nor did I have any plans to do so half way through the season. December was a turning point for me however -Craig Brown showing his true colours in December was a disaster. We had been badly let down and we had every right to be angry over the deceit... this was when I realised I was a Motherwell Fan! So from then on in I've only been following Motherwell and I've seen some great results from Stuart McCall and the players. I was chuffed to bits with the results recently, especially last week and the fact we're now in the Semi's against The Saints. Anyways, just thought I'd share my story as to why I decided to start following football this late on and why I chose The 'Well as my team!
