  1. Possibly mate, I was just speaking on more general terms. Put simply, they'll need to weigh up the positive impact it's had on the business against the cost involved for the sponsorship. Whether or not a 2nd agreed sponsorship deal would yield enough value will be a huge decision for them to make however that might not be on option! I wouldn't be surprised if a sponsorship deal has been agreed with another brand, money in the pipeline and that it's just not going to be announced til the 125th celebrations start. If not they've left it hellova late...
  2. I don't know enough about Commsworld to really comment on wether or not they'd consider continuing the relationship. I suppose their value in our sponsorship depends on what the six figure sum is but I don't think they could deny we've had a successful season and we're potentially going to be high profile for the remainder of the league and the Cup Final. In regards to the 125th anniversary strip... Claret and Amber is paramount to the MFC identity/branding so I really can't see them using it for such a high publicity match tbh. I wouldn't want them lifting that cup in anything else than Claret & Amber!
  3. Agreed but it wouldn't do any harm to release some pics of mock ups and get a bit of hype around the kit. I'll be disapointed if its not out for the start of the new season at the latest.
  4. Afraid so, Commsworld was only a 1yr sponsorship but came with a substantial 6 figure sum attached apparently. The deal with Puma is a four year number though (1 yr into it) so I don't think we'll be expecting anything to radical for 2011/2012
  5. Such a random gay encounter after being floored, then kicked in the chops aff some guy with a bunnet! Love it!
  6. Nice one mate -we could write a letter with a sublimal message (C'mon ye well) if worst came to the worst *EDIT* I'll see if we can tie that up to any of the stationary firms around Blackburn
  7. No bother, here's what I've turned up so far. A mate has pointed me in the direction of an ebayer called "paperrover" that he used in 2005. He said that at the time this was the cheapest card Joe Public could buy. He found them through ebay & traced them to a store in the midlands. He haggled over the phone and his "telephone based" deal came significantly cheaper than the ebay items. I've found the ebay shop but can't locate a store as of yet. I will still check with work but here's something to look at for now. Here's Amber/Orange and here's Claret Both Claret & Amber work out at 6p a sheet to the nearest penny so not as competetive as I had hoped when he was telling his wee story but still cheaper than 10p a sheet. Anyone fancy helping me dig out a phone number or address for Paper Rover or shop in the real world so we can get a quote & haggle a bit?
  8. I'm having a wee look as we speak. Will see who we get our card off in work and ask if its possible to use any corporate discount if we want to
  9. Couldn't agree more -they look gashtastic unless you want to look like a ninja preparing for an Arctic Circle expedition never mind a football game! I'd rather buy two season tickets than wear that CP get-up!
  10. Ensuring your daughter doesn't fall in with either old firm mob is some seriously good parenting -welcome to the forum mate!
  11. Yesterday was amazing from start to finish, what a game! Can't wait til the final now, was hoping to see Aberdeen joining us but I'm not fussed either way. My only complaint from yesterday is official coaches through to Hampden were clearly some kinda school buses with absolutely no leg room for any adult. The lads sitting infront of me and Mrs compared it to Ryanair flights! However the spirit on the bus was great listening to the lads talking about when they drove to the Nancy game and all the ensuing carry on. COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS NOW TIL THE 21st OF MAY!!!
  12. Ah yeah, I forgot about that one. Filled my car up at the jet tonight aswell, so 'double fail' on my part
  13. You mean the 'Dutchy' on Airbles Road, just across from the Electric Bar?
  14. Waking up with a bottle of Reloaded for an alcohol & caffeine mix, then grabbing a Full English Breakfast and then heading to The Davie Cooper. Sorted
  15. I'll be there before 11am anyway in the Cooper Suite But without a shadow of a doubt both my tickets say 11.15am prompt
  16. No mate, the semi-final and the final do not have replays and are played til we have a winner -extra time is played then penalties.
  17. They told me at the ticket office they can have as many as required so I wouldn't be surprised if there's 30+ buses going by Saturday. I'll be seeing you on 16!
  18. Lol! A fair point and believe me, I asked my mates (the ones I'm close to anyway) if they fancied coming with me to the United game and all I got in return was: "Sorry mate, if it's not [insert old scum team] or then I'll raincheck." And that was from the ones that claim they support a team yet have never been to a game -the ones I probably could convert. Thats not to say that I won't ever get them to eventually come in but the idea was to get the ones that only need the smallest of nudges into the stands by utilising the MFC Facebook page to hype them up and encourage all those 'floaters' to make the effort for what is a huge day for us. But yeah, I agree there's potentially scope to pick up some new fans. Anways, my email has been apparently been forwarded on to the appropriate people but no acknowledgement of receipt from anyone as of yet so we'll see what happens from here.
  19. http://www.facebook....102243523193311 Here's an example -pretty basic and obviously just a randon Saint's fan that's done this. In total he's invited 200+ friends and friends of friends -and all of these people can 'suggest' the same invite to other people they know and spread the word etc. If Motherwell have atleast 4000 people available in the network already they have a much larger scope of communication at their finger tips. I could setup an event in no more than 10mins and invite my 200+ mates to it. It will have little impact as unfortunately only 3 of them are well fans. But the fact I can reach 200+ people at no cost to me whatsover on an incredibly popular media is something that should definetly be utilised on big occasions.
  20. Great post mate. A lot more insightful that mine and it sounds like you're pretty well educated around the in's & out's of it all. I personally feel creating events for ALL matches wouldn't be our best bet. I think when the next match is even more important that the last it will keep the attention & hype focused on an upward trend. So targeting the Quarter Finals onto the Semi's and then onto the Final would be best IMO as this ensure's that the event's on FB are infrequent and have a bit of hype around them as opposed to just "the next game." However if they did do it for every game then I could appreciate that it would indeed help serve as a reminder for newer fans and would certainly appeal to the younger audience (school age) but may loose the attention of those that have seen one too many invites and even upset more fickle fans. It's a fine balance to address and would be down to the responsible party to make a decision in the best interest of the fans & club... however I think that with the importance of Saturday's game & our attendance at Hampden occasions like these are an absolute no brainer.
  21. It might not make much difference but for some it might. Essentially if it might create a difference (regardless the size of the result) and for something that would cost absolutely nothing more than 10mins manpower shouldn't wee do it anyway? The "facepalm" was for me and my assumption that Flow was a women but now others are saying Flow is acrually a women afterall -atm I don't even know if I stand corrected or not... but the facepalm was for my mistake and noone elses. How would that be any different from you blocking any other user on FB who's post's you deem as shit. At the end of the day we all know FB is subjective, some will think that one post is great whilst others will think it's borderline shite -every user has the option to block such posts if need be or even simply chose not to dwel on everything they have no interest in. Even then that would still just leave those that are interest in simply clicking the button so they show on the attendance list next to their mates and so they can comment on the event page themselves about how pumped they are for the big day and what the plans are for the display etc. When all is said and done, it's a free medium to exploit and the fickle fans will hold it against the club for such an attempt to further nurture the club's PR into a digital age. As for being viewed as an enthusiastic uber fan -duely noted but I'm largely indifferent to how people view me or my posts. I've moderated enough forums in my time to thicken my skin so I'm happy to let continue to let any opinions (good or bad) bounce of me so if that's your opinion of me so far then fair play to you mate.
  22. Opps! I assumed it was a Florence I was loooking for... Well I'll just await a response from MFC on the email I've already sent and take it from there.
  23. I've emailed mfc@motherwellfc.co.uk already mate asking for a contact within their PR team in regards to the FB page so i'll hopefully get a name of someone I can discuss it with further. Is Flow a member here mate? I'd appreciate her username so I can send her a wee message to ask if she is the responsible party and if so, draw her eyes to this thread. Exactly mate, it's a great opportunity to cast our line and see what we can catch and as it's free to create an event we can honestly say we've nothing to lose.
  24. http://www.facebook....rwellfc?sk=info Does anyone know who set this page up? I'd like to get in touch with them over the running of it. Basically I see this is a huge missed opportunity for drumming up support for our most important matches such as the Semi Final this Saturday. I don't see why the owner of the page hasn't created "an event" for this weekend and invited all the 4,500+ members of the page to the match. If anyone is unsure of Facebook's Events feature please have a look at this http://www.facebook....st=385671812130 If Motherwell are truely trying to attract new supporters to the club and get as many bums on seats as possible for match days then why aren't they taking advantage of the cheapest and fastest PR tool they already have at their disposal?!! 4,500+ invities could be sent within minutes creating loads of conversations between mates that were on the fence over attending. Those members can then suggest "the event" to their mates and any other supporters that aren't connected to the original Motherwell FC page and it goes on and on. There's plenty of opportuntity to sway those supporters that haven't yet decided wether or not they will settle of TV coverage or the true experience & atmosphere. And further more than that, these event pages give you scope to comment on the event itself. Can you imagine how much hype we could drum up with even a couple of thousand people commenting on the upcoming big day?!! It would be a great place to advertise for donations for the display also. We've obviously missed the boat on this one but we should desperately get something in place for big matches in the future. (Fingers crossed -the 21/05/11)
