Yes i agree there is plenty of time left in the window, but business by both parties needs to be completed sooner rather than later, for the same reason for both clubs, time to build and set up formations etc. Murphy is a good young player, but prob not EPL level just yet, more likely get a move to League 1 as a realistic option. Thats why i think it will be a lastminute.com type attempt to get him. Look at Jennings, he has waited and waited for a club to come in with an offer for him hence the delay in signing his contract, the offer never came hence he has signed a short term deal. Any serious interest from any club for any player needs to be sorted sooner rather than later especially for a small club like Motherwell as the deals can be gasumped ( Not sure on spelling) by the bigger clubs should they get wind of a cheap deal. Motherwell need the money for sure that i agree, and of course he could demand an international player type wage being U21 Scotland. Leave the SPL for any other club and he will say goodbye to regular TV matches and valuable exposure, stay one more season or at least half the season and his suiters will increase with his value. SPL = TV exposure EPL= Reserve team football Champ/L1/L2 = More money, no exposure (Ever) unless in playoffs. Your better staying here mate!

Has anyone actually said he is leaving, it is Agent hipe no doubt, silly season approaches, players will be linked, but that does not mean they are leaving, most deals would of been pretty much done and dusted by now, most EPL teams will be planning there pre season tours, so if we can hold onto him untill the Leeds game i think he will stay. Leeds match will be full of Scouts for there lastminute.com deals

Now is the time where the rumours will go through the roof, everyone back in training and the agents gettings there players names banded about, not sure Murphy will actually go anywhere at present, im sure if there was a chance of him going we would of already got another striker in or if not on stand by. My hope is that he will stay for another season or at least part of and continue to develop at the rate he is presently.,

There was an issue with his passport not being registered in time for the Gold Cup, hence his debut was put on hold.

I cant see him going mate, might of pulled a sicky.

Full time, cant really tell about the overall performance but its a win and the young lads seems to have played a major part. Well Done steady away!

Without getting a roasting for being a Humphrey lover, most points about him are pretty accurate on the whole, but i think last season he has shown a massive improvement and has created many chances and scored 4 goals on the way. This season Humphrey should be looking to score in and around 10 goals as a min, with the introduction of a creative midfielder this can only aid his progression, i think with Higdon in the middle hopefully with a better footballing brain than Sutton will be rewarded. When in the lower teirs of the English football pyramid Humphrey only really needed pace to beat his man so tricks and quality were not always needed, the SPL throws different challenges to him where he needs more than just his pace, the OF with quality wing backs with pace dont struggle against Humphrey as we have seen last season, ok the odd occasion at home to Celtic were Humphrey robbed the CB,and should really of scored was pretty much a one off, lots of left backs out of the old firm hate playing against Humphrey for the obvious reasons, Grainger was close to tears a couple of times last season because of Humphrey and looked every bit a Non League footballer, but now he has had a big money move Hearts, Humphrey can do it and you dont get the International call for nothing, so what i can say is this season will be his biggest and im sure if you stick with him and support him he will come off. When he ran out on the final and ran the whole length of the fans that was a tear jerking momment, and me and others around me shed a tear like most of you guys prob did too. At the end of every game he will thank the fans regardless of the score, i like the lad (As you prob guess). Big season ahead for him a the rest of the guys, i think the signings we have made will make the difference.

Interesting game tonight to be honest, only new players we have are Higdon and Law, by all accounts Law looks good in training, and the fans will like what they see im sure, Mc call has mentioned that he will play each player 45 mins each, should be a close game with Motherwell sneaking it.
-
I suppose if we are assuming that we will not be making anymore signings before the start of the season, it could work, but than again that is pretty much all very samey as last year, throwing Law out wide defeats the object of creativity, most creative Midfielders play from the centre or there abouts. But in answer to your question yes he could play wide left.
-
Yes i did, would be a toss up between Las and Jennoe, as Law would seem to be the star in midfield (Yet to be confirmed) Lass and Jennoe are very simular players, the Water carriers as such, against the OF they can play together as more often than not we dont have the ball and they can fight for the space in midfield, but against all the others teams in the SPL we would want to attack and both of them together dont really create space, or goals. Nothing against Lass, but my personal pref would be Jennoe, a little younger, better engine. With Law i am led to believe he creates and last season we lacked creation in the midfield. If i am honest Lass or Jennoe could do the holding role in the team, but not both together.

Rose tinted glasses, yes your right, maybe its time for Dazzer to change, ill give it a go.

A good point you have nethertonwellfan, but it really bugs me that Humphrey is constantly being knocked, if Motherwell had a better player that could replace him i might actually agree with some views about him, but unfortunately they dont have anyone better than him in what he does. And for the record if he plays pants i will be the first to admit that, the lads gives 100% every game and like most it does not always pay off. Its a new season and i am being positive and looking forward, i just dont want last seasons negativity towards Humphrey being tasted before he has even kicked a ball this season, A Motherwell fan at heart, its all about opinions and i respect them, but untill Humphrey shows no commitment and no desire, i continue to fight his corner regardless. For the record, i would start Humphrey too. ------------ Randolph --------------- Hateley -- Hutchison -- New CH -- Hammell Humphrey Jennoe Law New LM (Omar Daley) would be perfect Murphy Higdon That line up would be a dream, would have the quickest wingers in the SPL, with most prob the hardest working midfield with the added creativity of Law and the engine of Jennoe, Murphy in his natural position with Higdon doing what he does best being a pain up front. Bring it on.
-
Well said that man! Humphrey for president, and with the intruduction of Laws that might actually create the space he needs to produce the goods, and maybe just maybe Higdon will actually be there to knock the ball into the back of the net, exciting times this season me thinks!
-
Have a word, yes lets throw Humphrey on the bench next season! New season same old blinkered view.

Reynolds done ok for Motherwell, but he wanted to leave, so he was given the chance and he has not taken it, at the time i thought he would struggle at sheff wed and it has not worked out for him. He is a nice guy but if i am honest a agree with the other posts that maybe a move down the football league tier would be his level. League 2 England is very competitive and even at that level it will be a challenge week in and week out for him. His distribution if we are honest was poor at Motherwell, and the longer he stayed at the club the more like Craggs he became, long balls straight into the stand, giving the ball away at the back. Steven start again in League 2 England and work on the potential you showed 3 years ago, good luck!

Fresh off your favourite Football rumour site; Aberdeen to make ambitious bid to sign free agent James McFadden by the end of next week.My sister was told by no other than director of youth development Willie Miller in the Soul bar last night. Good old Brown eh!
-
Although Omar Daley is getting on a bit, he has severe pace, can play on either wing, would be a great asset for the club, but not sure if he has already signed for another club or not, but your right done well in the Gold Cup, think he was used as a sub more often than not. And of course the Bradford link!
-
Only new face at training was Higdon, but i suppose come the 1st July that might change!
-
A good point indeed.

But to tell you the truth Yir elder, untill the window shuts for the new season who knows, lets just wait and see, you have a hit the nail on the head with what we should have in the bank, there might be a few suprises awaiting us, and i dont mean from my dodgey rumour site!
