27 Dec 2012 10:26:40 Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway is ready to raid Champions League hopefuls Motherwell for speedy winger Jamie Murphy. The Scotland Under-21 cap turned down a switch to Blackpool in the last window, but could be up for a move south if he can agree terms with Palace.

Higdon and OJ do work well together hence why we are second in the table, just last night it never pulled off as St Mirren played more or less five across the back, and Higdon was pretty much nullified, from the off. OJ ran his socks off the whole 90 minutes, and caused St Mirren plenty of heart ache. Humphrey tracked from the opposite end of the pitch, filled the void that Hammy should of been filling, and unfortunately he slipped up, and the cross wasnt closed down, and the header at the back post was just a good header, which Randolph had no chance of stopping! Not too down hearted to be honest, ZFA again improved the team when he came on, so On Hammys performance last night, I would honestly give him a start on Boxing Day. On the point about Humphrey not being a footballer, I thought he played very well and to be honest over the last 5 or so weeks, amongst others, he has been one of the stand out players. And im sure you would prefer Humphrey playing for you as apposed to playing against you. Team played well, just lacked that cutting edge.

I think he is a great Player, I think he puts that little something into the front line that makes a real difference, He has had plenty of assists, and could consider himself a Mcall first pick if fit. Lots of energy, and gives 100% every game. Exciting to watch on most occasions, but like others can be frustrating, but Id much rather he was playing for us than against. One of the first on my team sheet every week! Just need ZFA to start every week then im complete!

I Like ZFA, looks a good prospect, I actually prefer him at LB than Hammy at present!

If im honest, I cant see anyone leaving in the Jan window, yes some might have there suitors, but for the sake of a few months they can get them on a free. times are hard, unless Motherwell are ready to accept peanuts in January. ie Bids like 60 k for Murphy, it wont happen. Motherwell undoubtedly will lose 60percent of its first team squad in the Summer. Now the question is if they turn down silly money (ie 60k) for Murphy, with a chance of getting nothing for the lad in the Summer, they must way up the financial benfits either keep him therfore rejecting bids in the hope that Motherwell will qualify for Europe next season, or accept the money and have little or no chance of getting anywhere in the league. I can see a number of daft bids coming in, within the window on the off chance of Motherwell accepting a 85% January sales value. The decision will ultimately lie with the board. Players that will be impossible to replace on the budget Motherwell are expected to have (As i dont know) just guessing. OJ,Murphy,Randolph, Humphrey I would say each of those players could merit a bid from someone else. Murphy and Randolph and Humphrey in real terms could be valued at (between 200k and 400k) maybe more, but clubs wont pay that, when they are free in the Summer. I say if we lose three of the fours stated above, Motherwelll will struggle to finnish in the top 6. Im not sure how much money Motherwell made through Europe, but im guessing it isnt much. OJ, Murphy, Randolph, and Humphrey are pretty much the back bone of the McCall starting eleven. Will Motherwell be able to replace those players above for 60k each, I very much doubt it, but would having 300k for the lot help the kitty in the short term, very much so. Decision time for the board! Ouch

Away win on the cards, bounceback ability, Our away form is much better, bigger park, and the the lads will no doubt be smarting after the lack luster performance put in last night. Im confident we will come away with three points, but not so confident in predicting the score. At a guess, Hibs will score, once or twice, but Motherwell to still come out on top. I would stick with the same team (Unless Law) is fit. Maybe eveen drop Hammy and go with Francis-Angol . Offers much more lately than Hammy.

I would Of thought the players out of contract should be putting more effort in to secure new deals with Motherwell or elsewhere, not the opposite. Just one of those games.

Replay time troops, have your thoughts on the return match. Same team as last match, seems to be clicking into place, keep the attacking options up front. Good start should see us through to the next round. Motherwell 3 Aberdeen 1 Higdon, OJ (Ojaama) For the name Police and Murphy with the goals.

Ill type what I want you numpty......

Its not hard Trigger!

AGREE WITH YOU Sometimes it just needs saying, Knowone is saying he shite.... we are just saying lets have a look at some other options while he is pondering his next goal...Ive ran out of positive ticks!
-
I agree, but that was in October Joeboy, currently and ill think you agree he is off the boil, so I dont think it would harm him to get a reminder!
-
Higdon is a cracking Striker, with lots of ability, but I dont think a spot on the bench would go a miss, last few games he has missed at least six or seven great chances to score. At present I think OJ is looking the more likely to hit the back of the net than Higgy!
-
Three points Friday night! OJ and Higdon Up top, we created a good number of chances last week, keep the same team less the injurys. Attack from the off, good start and im sure Hibs will collapse. Humphrey, Murphy, OJ key players in deciding the outcome. All three of them perform then theres a good chance of three points!

If you dont create chances you wont score, four occasions we should of at least tested the keeper, Higdon was not great today, but still could of had two goals, on another day he might of. You can take the left back on fifty times and not create a chance, so creating two from 20 attempts isnt that bad, and both should of been real goal chances. Today it never payed off, Friday it might!
