Well done Christopher Humphrey, all the best during the summer!
-
I think we are over reacting about this result, we competed most of the game, and arguabally played better football in patches. We never honestly expected anything from the game did we. We play like that against the remainder, we will win more than we lose. The team performance we ok overall, just GUTTED about the size of the defeat. Did not reflect the game. Law chance/Humphrey chances/ Higdon chance on a different day we could of scored 3 or 4... yes i know equally we colud of conceded 5 or 6... but no to down about the result. Same team next week (Less) Daley, Lasley back in Carswell will most prob make way, and maybe Murphy given another go.
-
Humphrey/Jennings stand out choices for me. Went with Humphrey attacking threat, and unlucky not to get on the score sheet.
-
Well said mad dog.... Same team as today i would go for less (Daley) and give Murphy another chance.
-
Thats the biggest load of pants written on a Motherwell thread, regardless of if Murphy played or not, the result would of been the same. Humphrey had a good game, better than many that started today.... and prob one of two players actually to test the keeper. Daley, might not be great at presnt, but McCall chose him for a reason. Now jump in your TAXI.

My arse, He is far from a Luxury, integral part in Reaching the Champions League group stages is more like it, And im more than sure he would be in your starting line up Sunday.... ahead of anyone we have on the bench. Regardless of the clubs linked to Humphrey, he is prob one of our most inform players over the last few matches, and how you end your campain is how you get noticed....Game changer end of!
-
Finlay, im really not sure he is the better option/ agree he is one of the best footballers in the team, but im not sure many clubs down South will bid for him, not only because of his ongoing issues, but his overall ability, at what would be a much higher level of Football. SPL he looks world class, not sure he would in a better level of football. Im sure if he had shown what you percieve as potential Celtic would of snapped him up.
-
Not really Finlay, they play in two totally different positions, yes Jennings is the better footballer, however in the Championship you need more than just a good engine in the centre of the park, i dont feel Jennings has more than a footballing mind, and a good engine, passing is poor, no goal return, and no pace, but a bloody good player at this level in this league. Championship is played at a much quicker pace, and the Qlty of Strikers is much higher, so im sure that Humphrey would do a pretty good job there, with the extra pace required. But that being said, League 1 would not be the end of the world. So i cant really compare them as players, as they are completly different.

Sorry Melvin, I actually forgot Darren, yes worth some money, but wont command much, i would of thought!

Its that time of year when the football Rumours hit the press, but of course Humphrey and Jennings wont be the only players linked to moves away from the club. Motherwell need the sale of players simple as that, so any offers will be looked at im sure... Assets of the club are few and far between, Jennings, Murphy, Humphrey, Hutchinson, prob the only players that we would get any money for, not sure what the contract states are on those blokes, but that aside. None of the above are ready for the premier league down south, in my opinion. But Jennings could do a good job in League One, not any higher than that(far too slow) and his passing lets him down, there are many players in the lower leagues like Jennoe, but never the less could command some cash. If i was on the Motherwell board i would re contact Blackpool on Murphys behalf and snap there hand off for any level of money, especially if we are talking around 200 K. Hutchinson again could do with another season up here, but could and should be worth a fair bit in a season or so, and would deffo make a good League One defender with prospects. Lastly Humphrey, although most of the season he has not really hit the heights he was capable of, in the last few matches he has shown a new confidence which if he continues through the TV matches we have coming up, will attract interest from other clubs.. What level, is hard to tell, but in his role as a winger he could make championship level as a start point. I know this will cause me no end of arguments, but this is my opinion, My Rational for suggesting Humphrey can play at a higher level than Jennings is based on the fact that there are a large number of work horse type players in the Lower league in England so, commanding big money for Jennings wont happen, Humphrey has the pace to effect games, regardless of his ability to cross being at question on occasions. Pace cause problems.. regardless of end product, ask Rangers about that. If i was playing at Motherwell Football Club, i would stay put at least one more season and experience the dream of European Football. We need money at the club, so dont be supprised if one or more of the above are subject to the end of season Sales....

Spurs join winger race Tottenham Hotspur, 16:01, April 11, 2012 Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey is refusing to get carried away despite being linked with Premier League sides including Spurs. Tottenham are just one of a number of sides who have been linked with a summer swoop on Fir Park to try and prise the 24-year-old away from the SPL and down to the Premier League. Aston Villa, Sunderland, Liverpool and Swansea have all joined Spurs in sending scouts to watch the winger in action but he maintains he is concentrating on his job for Motherwell. Humphrey told Sky Sports: "I know it's a cliché but we really are trying to win each game as it comes. "We cannot afford to start looking any further than the next game. "Of course it's flattering to be linked with some clubs but my focus is first and foremost to be selected to play for Motherwell and then to do the best I can when on the pitch."

Overall good point to gain, not all players were at there best but, the team as a whole looked solid at the back, with Hutch commanding the back four, still thought we missed the drive of Jennoe in the middle. Pretty happy with a point, the front line first half seemed poor, Higdons touch was awful, and OJ seemed to be running into trouble, but nevertheless still looked a danger with his pace. Second half was all together much better with Higdon holding onto the ball and OJ, causing trouble with his direct style of football (which is great to see). Law after a slow start began to get involved more, and started to string together a few great passes, out to Humphrey. Humphrey looked good on the ball and arguably our best attacking player, the amount of fouls he won on the edge of the box was testiment to his renewed confidence. His booking was a bloody joke considering there left back who clearly pulled him back only minutes before when closing in on goal was laughable, for Humphrey to be booked in a sterile area of the pitch for what can only be described as a (brush past) was a joke. Overall the team looked like they would go on to win the match, good performance role on next week.
-
OMG... i cant believe that post.... he put at least ten good balls into the middle, with the odd over shoot, he was the most effective attacking option on the pitch, he beat his man 9/10 times and thats with him being pulled back every time he tried to get to the byline. Cut back to Higdon, which Higgy made a hash of, a cross straight onto Higdons head, which he made a hash of. Sorry mate i dont think you were at the same game Humphrey was at his best, and looking confident and dangerous.
-
Humphrey booking was a joke...... in comparison to the NON booking of the numty that dragged him back...
-
Humphrey for me, showed lots of spark on the ball, created a few good chances for Higdon, looks full of confidence, and put a great shift in. Mentions for Hutch & Law.
-
I reckon we are due to dish out a real humping to someone, and I reckon it Hibs tommorrow.... 1-4 to Motherwell, OJ, Humphrey,Murphy x2.... We will get off to a good start, and Hibs will wilt....Key men Humphrey & Lasley.
-
Clancy anyday of the week, makes far less errors than Craggs... quicker....but equally as poor at passing!
-
Although im gutted about losing the game, i thought the overall performance was good yesterday, and at no time during the match did i think we were going to get humped, which is unusual against the OF, From the start i thought we looked good on the ball, and played some good stuff when in possesion. If we take out the few slack passes from the back from Hammy and Clancy, our back line looked better than the previous week. Law was quite yesterday, apart from his one two on the edge of the box producing a good strike on goal, most of the rest played really well, OJ, although not fantastic still produced much more than any player could of from the bench, he is the only played in the Motherwell team who uses the old step overs, and the odd trick, so entertainment factor he gets my shout everyweek, Higdon looked a little clumsy at the start, not being able to hold the ball up, but gradually got better throughout the game, and won 70% of the flick ons. Lasley Jennings, great through the middle, and showed some real grit throughout the match, and Lasley was unlucky to be shown a card for his troubles. And lastly Humphrey, looked a threat throughout the whole match, but seemed to be underused in the second half, Clancy seemed to be spraying his passes if not into touch down Laws side of the pitch, and as mentioned before Law was not really his self yesterday. Most of the team deserve credit for the display, and i for one was proud of the team. Man of the match was a close call from Jennings and Humphrey, but Humphrey gets the nod as he ran his heart out from the first minute untill the last, and produced some great runs, and forced Rangers to change there formation within 10 minutes of the start, Well done overall, but unlucky ending!
-
I agree with Jennings, being his usual hard working self yesterday, and to be fare the whole team done ok, but my vote goes to Humphrey, showing he is back to form, and i think thats the first time he has played well against the old firm, some good touches and now showing signs of hitting top form. Well done Humphrey, but as a whole the team were very composed untill the last minute.
-
Nothing really to lose next week, we are cannon fodder normally whatever team we put out{ So how would we think of Daley coming in for LAW next week, give us that extra pace.. if nothing elase it will tire Rangers out... Law been poor last few games, could do him good a stint on the bench...Might aswell have a real go at them. Law prob wont be dropped... but it must be doing McCALL head in having Law and Daley both his signings... fighting for that one spot..Joking aside i thought Daley showed some good touches when he came on.. Heart says 2;1 win next Saturday.... Bookies say £50 on Rangers win @7/5 £50 on Motherwell win 7/5 that better!
-
Daz played well, close between him and Chris Humphrey, not sure Chris hid second half more like ignored~! Daley played ok when he came on. maybe slot for him next week instead of LAW.

Talking shite Mate!
