  1. Couple of things have been mentioned here re last night's game which I agree with, but one or two things need looked at and quickly by JJ etc. The 'Well team had 5 1st team squad players on the pitch (6 if you count Ross Stewart who is 3rd choice keeper at the club). 3 players have played several games or the 1st xi including European ties. The sides were fairly matched age wise, Accies however had, I'm led to believe more players with 1st team game time. Motherwell were arguably as big height wise, if not bigger and as fit as Accies. The smallest player on the park;Accies no 7 gave the right side of 'Well's defence a torrid time on the deck and even won headers he shouldn't have been anywhere near getting. The big problems last night were a lack of desire; Accies won nearly every 50/50 particularly in the 1st half and their movement and sharpness of touch and passing was much better. I have stated previously I won't criticise individuals as every one has different opinions, however collectively there was a lack of desire, fight and on-field leadership shown. The 2nd half is a wee bit deceptive as Accies basically sat in and relied on pinging long balls letting Motherwell into the game more. I did allude to the idea last season that some of the younger guys act as if they have made the grade already and just have to turn up and play. This was fairly evident again last night and hopefully they now realise they have a long way to go to get anywhere near the 1st team.
  2. Word is there is a trialist winger at the club this week. Don't have any more info than that.
  3. Right on the money from what I hear. Found out he is now trialling with Accies.
  4. Not as far as I'm aware. He certainly wasn't in the squad for this tournament, nor did he feature in a friendly against Airdrie last week.
  5. Lost final 2-3 to Partick Thistle; were 2-1 up (Higgins 2).. Cummins and Moore played today. Confirmed Murray has torn hamstring.
  6. Heard a wee whisper that young Euan Murray was stretchered off in an U/20's game against St Mirren today. Hope it's not serious as the lad seems to have settled into the 'big squad' and by all accounts has been doing reasonably well when called on.
  7. Young Smith was at Celtc for a few years then had a season or 2 with the mighyt Well youths before being released a season or 2 ago.
  8. Do the buses no run tae Royston, Coatbridge etc after 7pm ?
  9. Erwin is definitely still at club, just a mistake on the website. There were only 2 trialists playing today, not a few. Everyone except Ramsden had a run out. Kerr scored for 'Well.
  10. They're going to Alicante a week on Monday.
  11. He is a centre half. SM uses him at right back, where I fancy he will play this season, because he is one of the quickest players at the club. Although he is a big bit of a boy he is naturally athletic and can run for fun. See he is on the team page on the official site with the no 20 squad number.
  12. 'We've also lost Kerr, Higginbotham and Faddy although I have no idea how much of their wages we were paying.' Kerr is still on the books, think he may have kinda slipped under the radar vis a vis signing on a permanent basis.
  13. Quite straightforward really Saunders wanted to play centre half, McCall wanted him to play full back. Ace beats a king.
  14. I was going to answer another post made by someone having 'the fear' because Well would have U/19's on the bench, but may as well use this post to help folk who haven't seen much or anything of the 3 players who have come through from the U/ 20's ( please note, wee bit pedantic but there is a marked difference between the previous U/19 set up and the current U/20's), anyway, Moore and Erwin are indeed strikers, Moore is a bit of a Dougie Arnott type whilst Erwin is more Adebayor like (not for one minute saying as good or the same but merely offering a similar type player for illustration) Murray is Hutchie like but maybe a bit more skillful but not just as much of a beast. Erwin and Murray were both close to 1st team run-outs last season but both had lengthy spells out with injuries at the mid way part of the season. Moore as you are no doubt well aware was loaned to Cowdenbeath and proved a bit of a goalscoring sensation for them. Erwin and Murray both have international caps and Murray was loaned out to Bellshill Ath Juniors when he was 17, and survived that particular learning curve. All 3 have potential, no more no less, but are equipped to handle themselves at the top level, whether they can kick on or not is yet to be seen, but only playing 1st team football will give a true indication. The club has no money and the young guys coming through are the future, hopefully doing a job for the 'Well or in the case of the 3 mentioned doing well enough to attract attention from other sides with money and bringing in a good deal of compensation and a decent fee. All clubs in Scotland are now 'selling clubs', the only difference is the potential buyers.
  15. As there has been no word that F. Kerr has left the club, and my gut instinct is that he will be signed on again, I reckon he should be in this line up somewhere.
  16. Higgy was the top earner and his basic weekly wage was a lot less than the amount being quoted. He maybe did get close to that amount with bonuses etc but I have my doubts..
  17. Could be; the description of a Smith's haircut is baffling for an old guy like me ! If it's Erwin he means, the boy is still at Well. Had a bad knee injury last season but came back well. IMHO he will be pushing for a start this season coming.
  18. Do you mean Kieran McGachie, big blonde striker ? If it is him he was released at the start of last season and signed for Annan. He left there at Christmas to play with Clyde.
  19. Nice wee rumour for you all today, Iain Vigurs back on the radar. Also my info is that Craig Moore and Euan Murray have been 'promoted'to the 1st team squad.
  20. I can't believe I actually took time to post that! The Devil makes work for idle hands
  21. Can we please stop using this analogy as He Man is the 'good guy' and lived in Castle Greyskull. FFS he even shouts 'By the power of Greyskull' when getting all charged up ! He-Man's chief adversary was Skeletor: a blue-skinned sorcerer with a yellow skull for a head, wearing a cowl. He was skilled in black magic and all forms of combat. Though his origin was mysterious, and the cartoon described him only as a "demon from another dimension", a tie-in comic implied that Skeletor's true identity was Prince Keldor (older brother of King Randor), thus making him He-Man's uncle. It was revealed in the animated motion picture He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword that Skeletor was Hordak's right-hand man until his capture (Hordak referred to Skeletor as "my old pupil" and Skeletor's throne-room in Snake Mountain as "my old throne-room" – to which Skeletor retorts, "my throne-room now") and (supposed) release. Skeletor was accompanied by a group of henchmen who aid with his evil schemes.
  22. The young goalie is Ross Stewart. Keeper for the U/20's. Lad is up and coming, looks to have a bright future.
  23. No thanks needed, but much appreciated.
