Also his first ever transfer window as a senior manager. I’m as bitterly disappointed as everyone else but think Hammell isn’t to blame for this. The only thing going against him right now is signing two attackers with injury issues. One, aye fair doos, but two is turning out to be a failed gamble. Hindsight is a wonderful thing I suppose. Edit - I also think we will be competing for top six this season, we have put in some right good performances. Need some consistency and a bit of quality going forward.

Would have preferred Cornelius in the middle and Spittal out wide as opposed to Shields playing. Gives us some pace I guess but hasn’t a clue how to use it effectively.

I thought Morris did the defensive side of the things as well as anyone against Rangers. It’s the keeping the ball, creating things and getting crosses into the box he doesn’t really do.

Hopefully we can get Efford and Moult back in amongst the squad. Tierney too lightweight, I would much rather Cornelius. The quality of balls up to Van Veen have to be better, and we need to get up and support him. I’d actually like to see us go 3-5-2 for this and get Penney & McGinn up and down the flanks.

Yeah that’s exactly why I’m quietly hoping it’s going to help. I haven’t seen the highlights of the Hibs game but apparently there was a stonewall pen missed on Shields. Things like that that our refs seem to miss so often being picked up on can surely only be good for the game.

This is either going to help solve the poor refereeing standard in our game or be an absolute disaster, quietly hoping it’s the former.
