Out of the 5 or 6 that have been posted, what is the best for quality guys?
-
I'd bite your hand off for an away goal. I have no idea how many we'll concede though, but an away goal would be great!
-
A big 80 pager discussing the lad already mate.
-
Sorry mate, I meant to say that I wasn't getting on at you in particular, but I saw it as an opportunity to vent a bit of frustration at some of the stick the club gets for very little reason. And by all means, criticise the club as much as you like, I'm not trying to stop you doing that. I just think some of the criticism the club gets is borderline ridiculous at times. Just my opinion though!
-
Add David Beckham to your list mate, he turned out to be no bad as well eh?
-
Why is it that everything our club does is "a bit of a joke" to some people? The ticket thing for Nancy, Inverurie & Llanelli were all referred to as jokes. The new strip is allegedly a joke, the pitch last year was a joke (I'll concede that it actually was a bit of a joke), the fact that it took over a week to appoint a new manager was a joke, the fact that we didn't sign any players until said manager arrived was a joke. If all these things actually were jokes, we'd be the laughing stock of European football. Which we're not. Nobody's come up to me and said "See your team didn't sign a player until the 2nd of July this year.... what a joke!"
-
A random fact about Swindon town. They are the only Football League club not to have any letters from the word "mackerel" in their name.
-
Aye mate, you've got the first 3 Qualifying Rounds, and then the Playoff Round, then the league stages. To answer Chris's question, the 3rd Qualifying Round dates would be 30th July & 6th August. Regarding the first post of the thread, can anyone tell me, I thought we were seeded for the first 3 Qualifying Rounds?
-
This is fucking magic, having a European game every week. Certainly much better than the standard pre season friendlies against English dross. Roll on Thursday
-
When is the draw for the 3rd Qualifying round? 17th July rings a bell, not 100% sure though.

Sorry Guys....unhappy Topic But Need Some Help!
GazzyB replied to walking down the Fir Park's topic in Club Chat
Okay, fair enough, I must've got it wrong, my apologies. Did the older gentleman throw ANY punches at all? I thought I saw him punch one of the guys. Not looking to cause any trouble, but I think that's what I saw. -

I know it's shite that somebody headbutted the 80+ year old guy, but would I not be right in saying he threw the first punch? If I'm wrong then apologies, but I'm pretty sure that's what I saw. -
Just home. Really enjoyed the trip, the fight happened right next to me, but I have no idea what happened. I was also on the same flight as the team on the way home. Was a bit of a shock to turn round and see em all coming in. And I got interviewed by the BBC and was on the telly tonight!

I'll play if there's still a space available Could be a laugh like.

"Read my posts, I never rubished your team only some of the bigoted morons who had a go at mine." - So, because I don't like your team, and I want my team to beat your team, that makes me bigoted? Away to fuck, that's a ridiculous thing to say. "I can only assume they were the "fans" who left the game early or straight at the final whistle, they certainly aren't any of those who applauded our players off the field." - Absolute bollocks. I travelled fucking miles to watch the game, I applauded all of your players, even the ones that were being substituted off, and I was one of the last Motherwell fans out of the stadium, so you can shove that comment too. "I've visited many fansites over the last few seasons and there are not many to compare with this for pure malicious remarks and racial slurs. Whats wrong with you, can't we have any banter without getting personal, you even attack your fellow supporters if they don't agree with you!" - I'm going to validate your point here by saying that if you don't like it, you can fuck off.
-
Can I get a bus from Cardiff to LLanelli and back again for under £20?
-
Haha, I know people think you're a c**t FS, but that made me laugh.
-
Fucking right. They think they are brilliant coz some fat bastard got his head to the ball and they stuck 10 men behind the ball against 8 or so youngsters. I hope we royally fuck them over on Thursday night. Mon the 'Well!
-
I like Fitzpatrick, I think he tries his absolute hardest and does a very unnoticed job, and I will never forget watching BBC live minute updater on a freezing night in February several years ago, but I'm afraid to say that Forbes on Thursday night did an immense job in the middle of the park, and I think he's an all round better player than Fizzy. Now I know he's only played one game, but he's certainly made a very good first impression on me, and I think Fitzpatrick will struggle to get a game this year. Certainly hope Fizzy sticks in there though, because on his day he does a great job for us!
-
Who does Pearson play for these days?
-
Mehh, I would argue that playing Forbes ahead of Fitzpatrick, and Slane & McHugh ahead of Smith indicates that perhaps he's willing to give the youth a chance.
-
I don't think last season's squad included Forbes, McHugh, Slane etc. And if it did, i don't think they ever realistically had a chance of playing under McGhee. Whereas with Gannon, he's already showed he's more than willing to give the youngsters a chance.
-
Added to your last line Jay, on the way out the door a guy behind me screamed "Ya bunch of dirty f****n bastards!" Didn't bother me as such, but presented a fair amount of irony in us getting into Europe via the Fair Play award.

Right well I don't know him personally. It's irrelevant as to whether or not he wants to leave though. He's been a great servant to the club, just as good and as long in the team as Clarkson, and he fully deserves his move. My definition of playing well is playing a short, direct style of passing along the deck from defence to midfield in an attempt to keep the ball and break down a very well organised & disciplined side. I certainly don't think losing a goal at the back post is playing well. They're not a glorified amateur side; they played in the Champions League last year for goodness sake! I remember about 5 saves minimum that their keeper made. You're right about Slane though, he was very direct and threatening. The difference, however, is that McGarry doesn't have the pace or the trickery to beat three or four men and fire in a shot. In terms of a threat, his game is passing the ball around and looking for a killer pass (granted there weren't many of those). I know I seem over positive about the other night, I just genuinely feel we played well, and that we'll take them in Wales.

In my humble opinion certain games like losing to Forfar in the SLC is worse than getting beat by the 2nd best team in Wales, who were playing Champions League football last year, only after a week or so of pre-season training after selling off 2 of our biggest players last year and losing another 3 or 4 important players for us to freebies. Added to the fact our new manager had been in place for 2 days or so, it's no shock we didn't win last night. Perspective.
