Bottom line certainly is not that "Quinn wants to fuck off". Quinn's being sold to a Championship club which has ambitions to play in the Premiership. It's hardly a case of that Quinn "wants to fuck off". And you can't tell somebody to jog on purely because they feel that one player is better than the other. The original poster wasn't talking about Hughes physical strength; his original point was that Hughes would've perhaps been able to break down a well organised Llanelli side a bit better than Forbes, Lasley, McGarry or Murphy. As for your comment on Clarkson, I think you are quite wrong with that one. Granted he may not have the best first touch in the world, but he scored a LOT of goals when he was with us, and he was our main attacking threat last season. The original point was that Clarkson would've run their back four ragged, and I agree with that; Clarky would've certainly caused them more problems than we did. I have literally no idea what you mean with this comment. Are you suggesting that Slane didn't play well? If so, then for fuck sake, what game were you watching? I feel you are quite harsh calling people ballbags for complaining; whilst I am very much a "glass half full" kinda person, I think it's totally unfair for you to slate anyboudy who thought we were poor last night. It's all about opinions, and whilst I feel we played well last night, I can see why some people may not. You're right, JG will perhaps build us a team worth shouting about, but that's not what this thread is about. This thread is about last night, and the performance and the result. As previously stated, I think we played well against Llanelli, I just think you're out of line with your post.

Totally agree, I think Quinn will go on to play in the Premiership. I know people don't rate him, but I really do. Think he's class.
-
What an absolutely pointless thread. As if we need ANOTHER thread full of negativity.
-
I voted for Ross Forbes. For years we've accused our midfielders (Kerr & Hughes instantly spring to mind) to hide away, but this young lad was CONSTANTLY on the ball. I thought he was fucking great last night, and he's not afraid to have a ping either
-
I predict we'll play the EXACT same way we did last night, win 3-0 and everybody will say that it was a much better performance than the first leg, despite the fact I think we'll play the exact same.

Yussssss!! Who gives a fuck what other peole think? I'm pretty sure nobody else really gives a fuck about the result either. I doubt Leeds, Partick Thistle, Colchester or Grimsby fans are sitting to themselves saying "Haha, see that Motherwell got beat by Llanelli last night!"
-
Just a wee word on the Llanelli fans. Me and a couple of other 'Well fans (young guys, I didn't get their names) were on the 22.38 back to Glasgow with a few of their fans, and they were top blokes! They were full of chat and were just genuinely nice guys. One of them had £10 on Llanelli to win 1-0 with their centre half to score at 80/1 and another boy had £40 on Llanelli to win at 11/1 or something. All in all they must've taken about £1400 off of Laddies last night!

Simmer down, we ACTUALLY did play well (in my opinion). I'm not joking or fishing, I just think we did well... Fraser - I didn't see the goal, but he looked very comfortable with the ball at his feet. Was able to take dodgy backpasses and knock the ball about. I don't think he hit a single long ball all night, which was encouraging to see. Saunders - I thought he started off really well. He got the ball out wide, tried to hit the byeline a few times and put in a couple of crosses which caused the away side some problems. Granted he wasn't that involved in the second half, and he had a couple of dodgy touches towards the end. Defensively I don't remember him putting a foot wrong the whole game. Craigan - again, I didn't see the goal, but it sounds like it was his man who scored the goal, which is a bit disappointing. Other than that, I thought his distribution was alot better than it usually is, and he won a lot of headers against their big number 9. Reynolds - Similar to Saunders, I don't think he made a defensive mistake for pretty much the whole game. He ran with the ball when he could, he made a couple of good passes, and again won a fair few headers against their big lone striker. Hammell - I thought Hammell was solid tonight, no more, no less. He got forward when he could, and defended well, however I don't recall him whipping in any good crosses or making any threatening runs or the like. O'Brien - This is an interesting one. People are saying that he was fucking brilliant last night (personally I didn't think he was that good), and some people are saying he is fucking dire (personally I didn't think he was that bad). I thought he looked dangerous when he got on the ball. What is interesting to see though is that for all the stepovers and tricks and flicks, he doesn't actually get PAST his man; he just knocks it to the side and tries to get in a cross. I'd like to see him actually go for it and take the ball round his man more often. Lasley - Not his best game in C&A. I think he's a great wee player though, so I'm not gonna judge the guy too harshly tonight. Forbes - I thought he was fucking immense tonight. I don't think he lost the ball all night. The only thing with his game was that he didn't try and make too many killer passes, and his free kick was poor, but other than that, I think he's a fucking cracking wee player. Murphy - Thought he was quite bad tonight. He was getting shoved off the ball very easily (granted, by a fat bastard), and he was getting caught up in posession quite often. Some horrible bastard behind me shouted "You're just a poor man's Kevin McBride!" to him at one stage. Way below the belt, no need for that! Slane - liked to run at men and beat them, and not afraid to have a dig. Defo one for the future, a great prospect. McGarry - a power of effort last night, and far from shite as some people have said. I thought he did well and, with a decent pre-season under his belt, I think he'll be a good player for us this season. Sutton - He got his head to a fair share of crosses into the box, but other than that, I think he lacked movement. When our full backs had the ball, McGarry and Murphy were making runs into the channel to clear the space for him to come and pick up the ball to feet. He didn't come looking for it to feet last night, and when you're playing with only one striker, that's what we needed him to be doing. All in all a good night's work I feel. A shame about the scoreline, but I genuinely do think we'll still get through. Mon the 'Well!

Haha same here! Looked like the big man had scored a fuckin peach!
-
I thought we played really well. Lots of positives to come from that game. Aye, a couple of negatives (scoreline included), but on the whole, I was quite pleased with the performance! Just my opinion mind
-
I didn't get offered a choice of stand, was just told that am sittin in the Main Stand. Strange. Anyways, leave at 11.10am tomorrow, canny wait!

Best bit of that vid was the older lady. "Ohhh he's the new Motherwell manager. I read that in the newspaper. That's nice, isn't it?"
-
Aye I'd start Smith ahead of Murphy on Thursday.
-
Delighted that Mr Gannon has been appointed. If I'm honest, I didn't know anything about him before he was linked with us, but he seems like he knows exactly what he wants, and is very organised and precise. My only concern, and it's a very slight concern, is that with all the build up and hype surrounding him, the fans may expect success to be instant. Hopefully he is given time to settle in and let us get used to his ways before we start expecting miracles!

Didn't want to start a new thread purely for this question, so I thought I'd stick it in here. Booked into the Sandyford hotel for the home leg, for something like £35. Anybody stayed before? Seems decent, just wanted a decent recommendation.
-
I just found on my Youtube page. Quality of the video is shite, but it fair got me in the mood for Thursday night!!
-
Just phoned the ticket office there and bought tickets for the home and away leg, and the lassie couldn't have been more helpful. Ticket office sometimes takes a bit of stick on here, but this lass was so chirpy it was fuckin unreal!

Remember folks, seven weeks til the start of the season! Plenty of time to replace our outgoing players
-
Never been to Airdrie's stadium before, where's the best place to sit?
-
We had a massive photo of our stadium in the papers a year or so ago, and there was a letter P missing from the sign, making it read F I R A R K. That's why we call it The Ark, and why our last gaffer was often referred to as Noah
-
Don't you know mate? Weeyin knows everything about everything! Don't listen to him, we don't all think that about your team.

6.55pm on Wednesday night

Aye faddy that's the one. I get the impression it's a bit of a hole, but the bird said it was only a mile or so from the stadium, and it's a cracking price at £30.
