I was having beers with a mate of mine in Manchester the other day and his brother was there. He spent a season with Caley Thistle whilst Malpas and Butcher were there, I told him what Motherwell fans thought of Malpas in particular, his dour demeanour and his infamous "that's just your Donald Duck" quote. He was quite surprised by it and said that Malpas was an absolute character, always cracking jokes and keeping morale up, but at the same time was far scarier than Butcher overall, although he did tell me a story about Butcher having to be held back from ripping one of his players to pieces at half time once. Also apparently Richie Foran loved a pint, who knew?

I think we’ll see a return to full attendances for Ross County away.

I quite like following our players when they move on, providing it's outwith the SPFL. Re Maguire, I see a big improvement in him under Alexander and I'm happy he's staying. He's much faster at doing things this season and I think he'll go on to do very well for us. When he first broke through I said he'd never make it, shows what I know.

When are we likely to know? I wanted to tie this in with going home for a visit.

Why wouldn’t he? He gets paid either way.

If he has signed a contract and he gets injured it doesn’t suddenly cease to exist. If his head is screwed on and he is fit he should be playing.

I could be wrong but I think those quotes are from a few weeks ago, seems like a re-hashed article to include that he was on the bench on Boxing Day.

I'd be extremely surprised if we let him go in January. £200k isn't enough for him if it would help United overtake us in the league. If he has signed a pre-contract I'm absolutely certain he'll be with us until the summer but won't play again. Edit - the above got me thinking about Casper Sloth regularly warming the bench for us, apparently he's now at the Icelandic mob that knocked us out the Europa League a few years ago.

When does the Irish kid arrive, and can he play up top on the left?

We sold him to Wigan and he's now at WBA, pretty sure we already got a wee % from that move, but it wasn't as much as we had hoped coz Wigan had financial difficulties? I think.
