Scottish Cup Final v Celtic (Hampden) 19/05/18 15:00

Quote from Glasgow Live at glasgowlive.co.uk “ The legendary boxing announcer Michael Buffer will introduce Celtic and Rangers at the Scottish Cup Final”. You just can’t believe the ignorance of some people who have access to media outlets, thank goodness they weren’t about in WW1 or 2, can you imagine what they’d be telling the world! -

I was up at Fir Park this morning having a nephews jersey autographed by the last 6 players and manager, of the Betfred Cup Final squad that he needed. I thanked them for their effort and everything they've achieved this season. They all appreciated me saying so and said they intended to make it a better ending to the season. A thoroughly nice bunch of guys. Don't suppose they'll read this but thank you to Trevor Carson, Peter Hartley, Richard Tait, Cedric Kipre (he's even bigger standing beside him than when watching from the stands) Ryan Bowman and Stephen Robinson. I agree, no 'Well fan can find fault his performances whilst wearing Claret & Amber but the comments he has made prior to Motherwell v Celtic games let him down and tarnish his reputation in the eyes of 'Well fans whether taken out of context from newspaper articles or not. He talks absolute nonsense when he says that Scott Brown is targeted, he produces no evidence to back up his claim. -

Today was a bad result with poor team and individual performances but the comments by some on this forum leave me shaking my head. I'm not a 'happy clapper' and can be critical of lack of effort but any player can have an off-day. I'm a fan for over 50 years who can put into perspective our wins and defeats, particularly this season with the rebuilt squad. We have reached 2 cup finals and going to finish 7th/8th. Yes a 5-1 home defeat hurts but some of my fellow 'Well fans need to relax and enjoy the claret and amber rollercoaster ride. We could be fighting relegation but have the 19th May to look forward to, with or without a few dozen folk who are undecided whether to buy a ticket or not. I find it hard to believe that today's defeat would lose us hundreds of cup ticket sales, I don't know of anyone who has suggested that their decision to go to Hampden or not will be dependent on the last few league results. Just remember the effort, desire and heart that this completely new squad have shown in the cup games this season and give them our 100% backing. Stephen Robinson has been in charge for 12 cup games with only 1 defeat. COYW. -
Anyone know what day/time would be the best to catch the squad training at Dalziel Park to enable me to have jerseys autographed?

Don't recall beating Falkirk in a Scottish Cup Final or Celtic in League Cup Final? What game does the 13k refer to? Maybe I've misread your post. -

Why do people not do something about stewards who have no power whatsoever to prevent vehicles leaving a car park? It's not the stewards fault but their bosses to blame, instructing them to carry out illegal actions. Safely drive around/past them, do not shout abuse but make it clear to them and those stewards who do the same on Fir Park Street that they have NO legal authority to prevent your vehicle moving, only a Police officer in uniform can do so. -

Did anyone from Hamilton Accies inform you that a condition of entry was that you agree to be searched? If not, I'd question if the Police have the power to search. Scottish Government Stop and Search Guide states - "A police officer can search you before you enter an event such as a football match or a concert, if the event organiser has made it a condition of entry that you agree to being searched. This is to make sure that you don’t have anything on you that could cause harm to other people at the event". In similar vein, what power do the stewards have who stand on Fir Park Street with a number of traffic cones across the street at the end of a game to stop vehicles leaving from behind the O'Donnell stand. They stop a few vehicles yet many more at the same time, including taxis are travelling in both directions on Edward Street and Knowetop Avenue through bigger crowds. -

I thought the west stand was the Motherwell end and the east stand the United end, I suppose any of our fans would have to be over 27 year old to know that. Sad I know, but anytime I talk about Hampden that's how I refer to the ends, never call it after any of the ugly sisters. -

According to Netweather.tv we could see a 1 in 10 year snow fall this week, with minus 9 windchill during the game. That is seriously cold and I've experienced that in the Cairngorms, it's brutal, no footballer should be expected to play in that, particularly a goalkeeper with Carson feeling it the most as the 'Dons goalie will be the busier -
I've checked the weather forecast for Wednesday night game v Aberdeen and its not good for football or to be sitting outside, heavy snow and temperature to be minus 3 with wind chill of minus 8, is that too cold to expect players and fans to experience for a game?

BBC Sport website: Dundee manager Paul Hartley: "You don't deserve anything if you don't work the goalkeeper. I counted seven chances, but we didn't work the goalkeeper once which was absolutely criminal. "I'm really disappointed, I felt Motherwell huffed and puffed. The two goals that we gave them today were a joke. How can you expect to go through in the Scottish Cup when you give teams such easy chances to score? -

Cernys time wasting was ridiculous but not as bad as the game at Firhill, poor refereeing not to verbally warn him/book him if he continued and not to add appropriate time on after 90 minutes. He also looks like hes in pain every time he kicks the ball. -

Big Wispy Flossy 12 minutes ago ECOSSE1991, on 03 Feb 2018 - 5:30 PM, said: How the hell did someone watching todays game decide that McHugh was Man of The Match? He shouldnt be in the starting eleven. Big Wispy Flow; I thought mchugh was excellent defensively today, granted he was slow in moving the ball on but so was Campbell. Not sure who left Doolan free for their goal if it was mchugh then I will take it all back Big Wispy Flow, I respect your opinion but Im at a loss how you can say McHugh was excellent defensively today. It just confirms that two people can watch the same game/event/incident and see things so differently. McHugh is always too slow when deciding what to do when he has the ball, too one footed (fine if youre Davie Cooper and can produce magic with it) that he has to take time to turn his body to get it in a position that he can kick the ball with his left foot by which time opponents are on top of him or defending his teammates. I dont boo or abuse any player wearing claret & amber but there gets to a point when you give up hoping to see an individual improve and you know hes not any benefit to the squad.
